How the Aion 2 crafting loop works
Every craft follows the same practical sequence. The interface may use slightly different labels between Korean, Taiwanese, and global services, but the underlying decisions are consistent: identify the output, check the requirements, secure the inputs, and only then commit the craft.

- Learn or unlock the recipe. Standard recipes are reported to become available as your profession mastery rises. Upgrade recipes can instead be tied to a particular preceding item and may show no separate mastery requirement.
- Check the profession and station. Blacksmithing, Armorsmithing, Handicrafting, Alchemy, and Cooking each use their relevant crafting station. Select the recipe from that station rather than assuming one station can make every category.
- Meet the proficiency requirement. A recipe can remain unavailable until your profession level is high enough. The live recipe panel is the authority for your service’s requirement.
- Supply every ingredient and the exact quantity. Materials can be gathered, dropped by enemies, or purchased where the service’s market is available. Upgrade recipes may require a specific quality of an earlier item, not merely an item with the same name.
- Start the craft and wait for the result. A secondary guide summarizing NC crafting documentation says a craft cannot be stopped after it begins. The same summary says both successful and failed attempts grant profession experience.
Failure is not necessarily a harmless retry. Sources report that a failed attempt can consume the supplied materials, so treat each craft as a commitment and inspect the confirmation screen carefully.

How many crafting professions are in Aion 2?
MetaBot.GG’s global-client table guide, updated October 7, 2026, reports five professions. Its visible English names and commonly reported outputs are:

Another guide, Corpus, gives a similar output map but distinguishes service-specific descriptions. That is why a profession name or output seen in a Korean or Taiwanese guide should not be assumed to be identical in the global client. Open the profession panel in your own service before committing materials or choosing a long-term specialization.
When can you start gathering and crafting?
Gathering starts earlier than the profession gate
The community-maintained Aion2 Codex reports that gathering is available from early character levels, while access to the five crafting professions is gated at level 45. That level-45 requirement comes from playtest menu observation rather than a confirmed first-party rule. If your level-44 character cannot open a profession, the behavior may be intentional; if your level-45 character still cannot, check the current menu, tutorial, and service notices because the gate can change with a build.
Mastery is separate from character level
Profession mastery is its own progression track. MetaBot.GG reports 100 total mastery levels divided into Novice 1–50 and Professional 51–100, with an upgrade quest at level 50. Do not confuse that mastery number with your adventurer level: reaching character level 45 may open crafting, but it does not make every recipe available.
How recipe unlocks and proficiency progression work
Standard recipes
According to the global-client table guide, standard recipes unlock automatically as mastery rises. If a recipe is missing, first inspect the displayed mastery requirement and your current profession level; buying more materials will not bypass a proficiency gate.
Upgrade recipes
Upgrade recipes behave differently. They can require an existing item from the same gear line and may not display a separate mastery threshold. The required item can be a particular improved or Splendent result, so the output from the previous recipe is not always sufficient. Read the ingredient name and quality wording literally.
Experience from attempts
A secondary summary of NC’s crafting-management material reports that both success and failure award profession experience and that higher proficiency improves success rate. This gives failed attempts a progression benefit, but it does not make expensive failures safe: the same sources warn that ingredients may be consumed.
Recipes, great success, and the reported chance rates
MetaBot.GG reports 512 recipes in the global-client tables: 256 for each faction. It says 280 of those 512 recipes have a chance to produce a higher-quality result through a “great success.” The chance is not one universal number.

A great success can produce a higher-quality item rather than a routine result. A Reddit discussion describes one player’s frustration with “25% crafting RNG,” but that complaint is an individual experience, not evidence that every recipe has a fixed 25% rate or that the system is universally malfunctioning. Use the chance shown for the specific recipe and plan for ordinary outcomes.
Gear upgrade chains: the item you should not sell
Several guides describe gear recipes as a ladder. You craft an initial item, pursue an improved or Splendent result, and use that exact result as an ingredient in the next tier. Corpus gives an example ending at item level 102 for a Splendent tier; its notes also describe later succession recipes that can carry enhancement, amplification, and Soul Binding levels. Those item-level ceilings and inheritance rules are patch-sensitive and service-specific, so treat them as guide examples rather than permanent global caps.
Before selling, salvaging, or transferring an item
- Open the next recipe in the chain and read the required ingredient’s full name.
- Check whether the recipe calls for a quality tag such as improved or Splendent.
- Confirm whether enhancement, amplification, or Soul Binding values are inherited before modifying the item.
- Keep the qualifying intermediate item in storage until you have verified the next step in the live client.
If the next tier is unavailable, the most common explanation is that you kept the wrong output: an ordinary item cannot substitute for the improved version that the upgrade recipe names.
Where crafting materials come from
Aion2Guide’s Korean and Taiwanese coverage identifies three broad sources: gathering nodes, enemy drops, and the player market. Gathering is the most controllable source when your character can reach the relevant areas; drops accumulate while you play but may depend on enemy type and location; market purchases trade time for currency. Market access and material availability can differ in the global service, so do not assume a listing system or price from another region exists on your server.

A practical material routine
- Read the recipe’s complete ingredient list before leaving town.
- Separate materials you can gather yourself from those that only appear as drops or market listings.
- Reserve rare inputs for a confirmed upgrade chain or a craft your build actually uses.
- Keep a buffer for failed attempts when the recipe consumes materials on failure.
- Recheck the recipe after a patch; names, quantities, and source locations can change.
No reliable, representative market-price dataset establishes which profession is most profitable. Choose based on use, material access, and progression goals rather than an assumed profit ranking.

For a self-sufficient character, start with the profession that covers the most important missing slot in your build. For a group, coordinate so members do not all invest in the same output while nobody supplies consumables or a needed armor category.
Common crafting problems and fixes
“I cannot craft before level 45.”
The level-45 profession gate is reported by Aion2 Codex community observations. Confirm your character level, complete any introductory crafting prompt, and inspect the current profession menu. Because the gate is not confirmed by a first-party statement, a changed service build may use a different requirement.
“My recipe is not listed.”
Check the profession tab, mastery level, and faction or service-specific menu. Standard recipes reportedly unlock with mastery; an upgrade recipe may appear only when you possess or have previously produced the required intermediate item. Do not infer availability from a screenshot of another region.
“The craft failed and my materials disappeared.”
Chance-based outcomes and material consumption on failure are both reported behavior. Review the ingredient quantity before retrying, especially when the recipe uses an improved item or scarce upgrade component. Raise proficiency where possible, but remember that a higher success rate does not guarantee the next attempt.
“The next gear tier will not accept my item.”
Compare the item name, quality, and any required state shown in the next recipe. The chain may require a great-success or Splendent predecessor rather than the normal output. If you sold or salvaged the qualifying piece, you may need to craft the earlier step again.
“Can I cancel a craft?”
A secondary guide summarizing NC documentation says no: once started, the craft cannot be stopped. Treat the confirmation button as final and avoid starting while inventory, connection, or station access is uncertain. Verify this behavior in your current service if the interface has changed.
“Why did I get an ordinary result when I expected an improved one?”
A great success is a chance outcome, not a guaranteed upgrade. MetaBot.GG reports different rates by category, including 25% for most gear and potions, 30% for Cooking, and 20% for some Alchemy Manastone recipes. The individual recipe panel should take precedence over category-level guide figures.
How to verify volatile details in your client
Use this short check whenever a guide, video, or community post gives you a crafting number:
- Confirm that it names your service and current build.
- Open the profession panel and record the visible English name and station.
- Open the exact recipe, not a search result for a related item.
- Read mastery, character-level, faction, ingredient, quality, and chance fields.
- Check whether the output is an ingredient in a higher-tier recipe before selling it.
- Start only after confirming that a failed attempt will not consume something you cannot replace.
This matters because exact recipes, rates, unlocks, market rules, and gear succession can change without matching older regional guides. The figures attributed to MetaBot.GG are useful orientation for the October 2026 global-client tables, but the live interface remains the safest source for a spending decision.
