Abyss Points (AP) are an in-game AION 2 currency used for Abyss-related progression, equipment, and other shop items. You can earn AP through combat, but player-versus-player fighting is not mandatory. Missions, rifts, arenas, events, and Supply Requests can provide non-PvP or structured alternatives, depending on your service region and current patch.
The exact rewards, request schedules, and acquisition limits are not identical across Korea, Taiwan, Global, and other services. Treat the figures and rules shown in your client as authoritative, especially after a seasonal update.

What are Abyss Points in AION 2?
Abyss Points are a progression currency that exists inside AION 2. They are earned through game activities and spent through the Abyss Store; they are not cash, premium currency, or a real-world payment method.

AP is closely associated with Abyss progression, so the game may display it alongside rank or other Abyss statistics. Those values are not automatically interchangeable. In particular, rank points and AP can follow different rules when you die, and a regional guide’s rule for one service should not be assumed to apply everywhere.

How do I earn Abyss Points?
Current guides describe several earning categories rather than one universal AP farm. The available activities and their payouts can change with updates, and a route listed for one service may be unavailable or rewarded differently in another.
Abyss combat
Encounters with players and monsters in Abyss-related content can award AP. Player combat creates the greatest PvP exposure, while monster encounters may let you progress without deliberately fighting other players. Check the activity’s reward panel before committing time, because the game can separate AP rewards from rank or event rewards.
Missions and duties
Mission, duty, and quest-style objectives are another reported source. These are useful when you want a structured checklist instead of open-ended combat. Their eligibility and payout depend on the current activity list in your client.
Rifts
Rifts are listed by recent guides among possible AP sources. A rift’s location, participation requirements, and reward package can be tied to a particular update or service, so verify the current rift entry rather than relying on an old route description.
Arenas and sieges
Arenas and sieges are structured activities that may grant AP. An arena can involve competitive player combat, while a siege can combine organized objectives with PvP exposure. Whether you can enter, how often rewards are available, and which reward category contains AP are all client-specific details.

Events
Limited-time events can add AP to their reward tables. Event currencies and AP are separate unless the event interface explicitly says otherwise. Read the event’s duration and participation rules; an event reward may disappear when the event ends.
Supply Requests
Supply Requests convert accumulated resources into AP. This is the clearest route for players who want to earn AP without defeating players, although it consumes the materials required by the request. Request tracks have different refresh schedules, so one track may become available again sooner or later than another.

Can I earn Abyss Points without PvP?
Yes. You do not have to defeat another player to earn AP. Supply Requests exchange resources for AP, and guides also identify missions, some monster-focused activities, rifts, arenas, and events as possible alternatives or supplements.
“Without PvP” does not mean every non-PvP activity pays the same amount. Supply Requests consume accumulated materials, while missions and events may be constrained by objectives or schedules. Arenas can be competitive even when your goal is not open-world PvP. Use the in-game activity board to confirm the current AP reward and participation condition before choosing a route.
A low-PvP routine
- Open the current missions, duties, rifts, and event panels and identify entries that show AP in their reward details.
- Open Supply Requests and record which request tracks are available, what materials each consumes, and when each track refreshes.
- Reserve enough materials for requests you actually intend to complete; converting everything immediately can remove resources needed for other activities.
- Complete the mission or event objectives that fit your schedule, then collect AP from the relevant reward screen.
- Recheck the board after a patch or season change, because eligibility, rewards, and refresh behavior can be revised.
What can I spend Abyss Points on?
The Abyss Store uses AP for in-game progression goods. Equipment and other Abyss-related items are part of the store’s purpose, and a recent regional guide specifically lists Stigma Shards among its goods.

Do not assume that an item, price, or stock limit shown in a guide exists in every client. Store inventories can differ by region, season, and patch. Open the Abyss Store in your own game and inspect the item description, AP price, purchase limit, and any additional currency or material requirement before spending.

- Check progression impact: prioritize an item only when its description shows a meaningful upgrade for your current build or Abyss objective.
- Check the complete cost: some goods can require AP plus another resource, so compare the full requirement rather than the AP number alone.
- Check purchase limits: a weekly, seasonal, character, or account limit can make an apparently inexpensive item a scarce purchase.
- Check replacement risk: avoid spending AP on equipment that you expect to replace immediately through content you can already clear.
- Check regional availability: if a guide mentions Stigma Shards or another shop good that you cannot see, follow your client rather than trying to reproduce the guide’s price.
What is the Abyss Point weekly limit?
There is no single, verified numerical AP cap that can be stated safely for every AION 2 service. Regional guide coverage discusses weekly and seasonal maximums, but does not establish one current Global value, and the rules can change over time.
NCsoft’s Season 2 roadmap included changes to Abyss acquisition limits. That confirms that limit adjustments were planned, not what the current number is for your character or service. A roadmap announcement should therefore be treated as evidence of a rule change, not as a universal cap figure.
Where to find your active limit
- Open the Abyss or currency information panel in the current client.
- Look for an AP acquisition, weekly, seasonal, or remaining-limit indicator near your balance or activity rewards.
- Check the reset timer and the scope of the limit: the game may distinguish weekly from seasonal tracking and character from account progress.
- Review the reward preview for each activity. An activity can remain playable after you have reached an AP acquisition limit, but its AP reward may no longer be granted.
- After a maintenance, season transition, or regional patch, reopen the panel and verify the limit again.
If the client does not display a number, consult the latest official notice for your service and treat third-party figures as historical or region-specific until confirmed in game.
Do I lose Abyss Points when I die?
This rule is service- and patch-specific. A guide covering the Korean service reports that a PvP death reduces rank points rather than the AP balance. That does not establish the same behavior for Global, Taiwan, or another service.

Before entering risky content, inspect the death, defeat, and penalty text in your client. Distinguish the following values:
- AP balance: the currency you spend in the Abyss Store.
- Rank points: a progression or standing value that can have separate defeat penalties.
- Items and durability: equipment or repair consequences that are unrelated to an AP deduction.
If a defeat screen mentions rank-point loss but does not mention AP, do not infer that your currency was reduced. Conversely, if your service displays an AP penalty, follow that current client rule rather than a guide written for Korea.
How region and patch differences affect AP advice
AION 2’s AP systems are not safely portable from one service to another. Korea and Taiwan guides may document mechanics, prices, or limits that differ from Global. Even within one service, a seasonal update can alter acquisition limits, request schedules, store stock, or reward amounts.
Use this verification checklist
- Confirm your service region and game version before applying a guide’s number.
- Read the reward tooltip for the exact activity you plan to run.
- Check whether the listed value is an AP reward, rank-point reward, event currency, or item.
- Record the reset timer for weekly, event, and Supply Request content.
- Recheck the Abyss Store after major patches; inventory and prices may change.
- Use official regional notices for announced changes, especially seasonal limit adjustments.
How should you plan AP earning and spending?
Because there is no cross-region efficiency ranking supported by the available evidence, choose a route by constraints rather than by an allegedly universal “best farm.” A practical plan weighs four questions:

- How much PvP exposure is acceptable? Choose Supply Requests, missions, or monster-oriented objectives when avoiding player combat matters more than speed.
- What resources can you spare? Supply Requests consume materials, so compare the AP purchase with your crafting, upgrade, and quest needs.
- What time window do you have? Events, arenas, sieges, and request tracks can follow different schedules; select content that fits its reset or event deadline.
- What does your client actually reward? Confirm the AP line in the current interface instead of copying a payout from another region.
Spend only after checking the store’s current price and purchase limit. If an acquisition cap is close, prioritize the AP purchase that supports your immediate progression and avoid assuming the cap will reset when you expect unless the timer says so.

Common AP mistakes and fixes
Assuming every Abyss activity is PvP
Fix: inspect Supply Requests, missions, rifts, events, and monster encounters. AP progression has non-PvP routes, although their rewards and schedules differ.
Confusing AP with rank points
Fix: read the exact label on the reward or defeat screen. A rank-point change is not automatically an AP balance change.
Using a universal cap from an old guide

Spending materials without checking request refreshes
