GitHub Copilot, CodeRabbit, and Graphite Diamond all offer AI-assisted pull-request review, but they fit different development workflows. Copilot reaches across GitHub and several editors; CodeRabbit centers on pull-request review with related triage, security, and agent offerings; Graphite Diamond is part of Graphite’s GitHub-focused stacked-PR workflow. None of the available vendor materials establishes which tool catches more defects, so choose by workflow fit, capabilities, billing, and administrative controls—not an unverified accuracy ranking.
How the three tools differ
| Tool | Documented workflow | What to evaluate |
|---|---|---|
| GitHub Copilot code review | Review is available across GitHub.com, GitHub CLI, GitHub Mobile, VS Code, Visual Studio, Xcode, and JetBrains IDEs. GitHub Docs also lists Azure DevOps in public preview. GitHub documentation | Whether review where your team already works is useful, and whether the plan, AI-credit, and possible Actions-minute billing fit your usage. |
| CodeRabbit | Pull-request review is presented alongside triage, change-stack, security, CLI, and agent features. CodeRabbit pricing CodeRabbit | Whether a review-focused product and its related workflow features suit the team; check which capabilities are included in the plan versus separately billed. |
| Graphite Diamond | Diamond is Graphite’s AI reviewer within a GitHub-centered workflow that includes stacked pull requests, CLI, VS Code, PR inbox, and team insights. Graphite Diamond documentation | Whether the team wants Graphite’s broader stacked-PR workflow, not just a standalone reviewer. Current price and detailed review limits are not established here; check Graphite’s official plans. |
These are product-positioning differences, not measured performance differences. GitHub’s documentation describes review that identifies issues and suggests fixes. CodeRabbit describes review and related capabilities on its product and pricing pages. Graphite describes Diamond as a codebase-aware review agent integrated with its workflow. Those descriptions do not show how often any product finds real defects.
GitHub Copilot: review across GitHub and editor workflows
GitHub documents Copilot code review on GitHub.com, GitHub CLI, GitHub Mobile, VS Code, Visual Studio, Xcode, and JetBrains IDEs; Azure DevOps is listed as a public preview. This breadth makes Copilot worth considering when a team wants review in several existing GitHub or editor surfaces rather than adopting a separate PR workflow.
Paid Copilot plans are eligible. Organizations using Business or Enterprise can also enable GitHub.com review for members who do not have an individual Copilot license, subject to administrator policy settings; usage in that arrangement is billed to the organization through AI credits. See GitHub’s code review setup and availability documentation.

Budget for usage, not just the subscription
GitHub’s plans page says Copilot features consume GitHub AI Credits, and GitHub notes that review workflows begin using Actions minutes on June 1, 2026. The relevant charges depend on plan and workflow, so check the live Copilot plans and Copilot billing documentation before estimating team cost. Subscription prices and included usage can change; a plan price alone may not capture the cost of an active review workflow.
CodeRabbit: review with adjacent PR and security products
CodeRabbit presents AI pull-request review with related features such as triage, one-click fixes, CLI use, and pre-merge checks. Its pricing page describes plan-based review capabilities and an Enterprise option; it also lists Security Scan and Agent as separate on-demand products. Its FAQ says public repositories can receive free reviews. Eligibility, plan names, inclusions, and usage terms are subject to change, so verify them on the current pricing page and product site.
Rank #2
That feature grouping is useful if the team wants more than reviewer comments in a PR. It should not be read as evidence that CodeRabbit’s findings are more accurate, or that every listed feature is included in every plan.
Graphite Diamond: review as part of stacked pull requests
Graphite documents Diamond as its codebase-aware AI review agent and places it alongside GitHub authentication, stacked PRs, a CLI, VS Code integration, a PR inbox, and team insights. This makes Diamond most relevant when a team is evaluating Graphite’s workflow as a whole. A team seeking only an isolated reviewer should compare the workflow overhead as well as the review feature.

The official Graphite material referenced here does not establish a current plan price or detailed Diamond review limits. Consult Graphite’s pricing page for current terms. Graphite’s State of Code Review 2024 says it analyzed more than 5 million pull requests from over 35,000 engineers. Those are Graphite’s stated report sample figures, not a head-to-head evaluation of Diamond, Copilot, and CodeRabbit.
Choose by workflow, capabilities, and administration
- Consider Copilot if the team wants review available across GitHub and its supported editor surfaces, and can account for the applicable plan, AI-credit, and Actions-minute rules.
- Consider CodeRabbit if the team wants a PR-centered review product and values its adjacent triage, fixes, checks, or optional security and agent offerings. Confirm which charges apply to the desired services.
- Consider Graphite Diamond if the team is already interested in Graphite’s stacked-PR workflow and wants its reviewer integrated into that context. Confirm current pricing and limits before adoption.
Before rollout, check the tool’s supported repositories and integrations, administrative controls, data-handling terms, included usage, and what happens when allowances are exceeded. Run a limited pilot on representative repositories if you need to judge usefulness in your codebase; define what counts as a useful finding and track false positives and missed issues alongside developer time. A pilot can inform your team’s fit decision, but it is not a general benchmark unless the method and results are controlled and comparable.

AI review is an additional check, not a replacement
Keep tests, human review, security tools, and engineering judgment in the process. GitHub itself advises: “Of course, you should always use GitHub Copilot together with good testing and code review practices and security tools, as well as your own judgment.” GitHub’s Copilot page presents this as vendor guidance, not independent validation; the same caution is appropriate when evaluating AI review from any provider.
