Ahana Gautam co-founded the Indian snack brand Open Secret in 2019 after a corporate career, and she describes the company as a tribute to her mother, who raised her and her brother as a single parent. One correction to the headline version of this story: the “₹250 crore” figure is a reported valuation (about $25.9 million, nearly ₹250 crore, per Moneycontrol citing Tracxn), not revenue. Reported FY25 revenue is about ₹87 crore.
Who Ahana Gautam is
Moneycontrol’s October 2026 profile says Gautam co-founded Open Secret in 2019 after working at P&G and General Mills. It describes her education at IIT Bombay and Harvard Business School. Open Secret’s own company history says she took a one-way flight from the US to India and launched the brand’s first product, Nutty Cookies.

The emotional core of the brand is Gautam’s mother. How Open Secret grew
2019: Nutty Cookies
The company says it started with Nutty Cookies in 2019. Gautam’s stated observation, in outline, was a gap in packaged snacks in India. Open Secret frames its mission as “UnJunk,” meaning snacks it presents as better alternatives to typical packaged food. That is brand positioning; the sources reviewed do not independently verify nutritional or health claims.
2020 to 2023: expansion
All of the following are company-reported and not independently verified:
Rank #3
- SNACK BOX CARE PACKAGE: A compact 6 x 5 x 4 inch snack box made for quick pick-me-ups, college finals, office surprises, employee appreciation, birthdays, thank-you gifts, and everyday snack moments.
- SWEET, SALTY & SOUR VARIETY: Includes individually wrapped snacks and treats such as crackers, crispy treats, sour candy, nostalgic candy, peanuts, popcorn treats, fruit snacks, rolled fruit treats, and chips.
- SMALL GIFT BOX, NOT BULK: Designed as a small snack care package and giftable treat box, not a large bulk snack case. Great when you want to send a thoughtful snack gift without overdoing it.
- GIFTABLE GREEN PACKAGING: Ships in our new Snack Mountain green box with fun, inviting graphics, making it feel more like a real gift than a plain snack pack or basic pantry refill.
- SHRINK-WRAPPED FOR FRESHNESS: Each box is shrink-wrapped before shipping to help protect the assortment and keep the snacks clean, fresh, sealed, and ready to send directly as a gift.
- 2020: over 1,000,000 cookies shared, 1200% growth (the company does not define the comparison basis), two product lines launched.
- 2022: expansion into 15 categories.
- Its platform has hosted more than 100 food and beverage brands.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. The numbers, and who reported them
| Figure | Value | Source and caveat |
|---|---|---|
| FY20 revenue | Around ₹30 lakh | Tracxn, via Moneycontrol (2026) |
| FY25 standalone revenue | ₹87.5 crore | Tracxn, via Moneycontrol (2026) |
| FY25 consolidated revenue | Around ₹87.3 crore | Tracxn, via Moneycontrol (2026) |
| FY25 standalone net loss | Around ₹7.2 crore | Tracxn, via Moneycontrol (2026) |
| Latest disclosed valuation | About $25.9 million (nearly ₹250 crore) | Tracxn, via Moneycontrol (2026) |
These are reported figures, not audited ones, and the underlying filings were not examined here. Revenue and valuation measure different things: revenue is what the company sold in FY25, while valuation is an estimate of what the business is worth from its latest financing. The company was also loss-making on a standalone basis in FY25, so “₹250-crore brand” describes investor valuation, not sales or profit.
