Those team and upgrade suggestions are historical advice, not a current ranking or universal build prescription.
Who is Kren in AFK Arena?
AFK Global classifies Kren as an Ascended Mauler, Ranger, and Agility hero whose listed role is continuous damage. BlueStacks’ guide gives the same classification. The game’s character reference identifies his weapons as “Hot Stuff,” a cannon, and “Lady,” a grenade launcher, alongside smoke bombs and landmines; it also lists his species as Durri.

Kren arrived in version 1.56. The patch notes dated January 26, 2021 announce him as a new Mauler hero and mention a Bountiful Trials event on the test server. BlueStacks’ archive dates its guide to January 27, 2021, so its synergy and investment advice belongs to his release-era context. AFK Global’s version 1.56 patch notes provide that historical context.

How Kren’s abilities work
AFK Global’s character reference gives the following skill details. Values are in-game mechanics from that reference; check the live game for any later balance changes.

Bomb Voyage: sustained area shelling
Kren retreats to the allied side, sets down Hot Stuff, then fires a shell every 0.5 seconds for 10 seconds instead of making normal attacks. Each shell deals 180% area damage initially, increasing to 200% at level 81 and 220% at level 161. While firing, he cannot move, be knocked back, or be launched airborne. The barrage stops if no enemies remain on the enemy side.
Enshrouding Bomb: protection and Crit Rating
Kren throws smoke at the allied hero farthest forward. For eight seconds, that ally cannot be critically hit and receives additional Crit Rating. The reference lists an initial 25 points, with increases at levels 21, 101, and 181.
Old Pal: five mines behind the enemy formation
At the start of battle, Kren signals a friend to place five landmines behind the enemy formation. Each mine deals 300% area damage and stuns enemies for five seconds before the listed level upgrades. The reference lists a damage increase at level 121 and a stacking Attack Rating increase at level 201.

Concussive Blast: damage and knockback
Kren charges the enemy nearest the allied side, strikes it with Lady, and knocks it backward; the blast also knocks Kren backward. Its listed damage starts at 240%, with increases at levels 141 and 221.
How the mines and knockback can work together
BlueStacks’ guide suggests using pushback to drive enemies toward the mines placed behind their formation. That is a tactical possibility, not a guaranteed combo: formations, timing, and game balance can affect whether an enemy is moved onto a mine. Concussive Blast supplies Kren’s own knockback, while the guide also names Tidus and Anoki as heroes whose push effects may help activate the mines.
What BlueStacks recommends for teams
The guide’s named pairings are suggestions from its 2021 release-period coverage, rather than proof that these heroes are currently optimal across modes.

What the guide says about upgrades
BlueStacks recommends aiming for 9/9 furniture and a +20 signature item for late-game play. Treat those thresholds as that guide’s historical recommendation, not an account-independent rule: available information does not establish that they remain optimal under current balance or in every game mode.

- Signature item, “Hot Stuff” & “Lady”: Enhanced normal attacks add damage and knock enemies back with a stun; the reference lists effects at +10, +20, +30, and +40.
- Furniture: The 3/9 effect expands Enshrouding Bomb’s area and reduces affected enemies’ Haste. At 9/9, it adds a smoke bomb to a congested enemy area.
- Engraving: E30 restores 100 Energy each time a mine explodes. E60 reduces damage received from enemies other than Kren’s target while he uses Concussive Blast.
Playing AFK Arena on PC
BlueStacks’ article also promotes playing AFK Arena on PC with BlueStacks. That is a platform option, separate from its character and build advice; the guide does not establish that PC play changes Kren’s abilities or makes a particular formation stronger.
