Best fit by campaign: QR Penguin Professional is the lowest-cost published option with a large code allowance and unlimited scans; QR Insights Pro suits small campaigns that need realtime monitoring and exports; Dynamic QR Pro adds deeper audience breakdowns and smart rules; Uniqode is an inexpensive annual-billing entry point; and DynamicQRCodes.co.uk is aimed at organizations managing hundreds of codes. A free tier from Dynamic QR Code Labs can be useful for a small pilot, but its availability and limits are vendor claims rather than an independently verified guarantee.
Prices and limits below are vendor-published snapshots accessed October 13, 2026. Compare the scan ceiling, analytics history, billing commitment, currency, taxes, team controls and post-cancellation behavior—not the headline price alone.

Shortlist at a glance
Dynamic QR subscriptions matter when a printed code must keep working after production and when you need evidence that people scanned it. The services below all advertise editable destinations and some form of scan reporting, but their allowances are not directly interchangeable: some prices are monthly, some are monthly equivalents billed annually, and currencies differ.

These are vendor plan figures, not results from a controlled performance or reliability test. “Unlimited” means the service advertises no numerical cap; it does not establish an independently measured load limit. The free-tier duration, scan behavior at the cap and every service’s cancellation policy require confirmation before a production launch.

What a marketing-analytics QR subscription actually does
A static QR code stores a destination directly. Changing that destination requires replacing the printed artwork. A dynamic QR code instead points to a redirect controlled by the QR platform. You can change the destination in the platform dashboard while leaving the printed code in place.
“Dynamic QR codes are editable, so you can update their information and URL without reprinting them.”
— QRCodeChimp marketing guide
When someone scans, the redirect service records an event and sends the visitor onward. Depending on the plan, the dashboard may show aggregate totals and trends, or break activity down by country or region, device, browser and time. Those reports describe scan events; they do not, by themselves, identify an individual person. QR Insights also advertises GDPR compliance and no tracking cookies, but those statements are the vendor’s representations rather than an independent compliance audit.
Platform analytics and Google Analytics integration are different things. QR Penguin lists Google Analytics on its paid Professional and Enterprise tiers. Other services in this comparison emphasize their own dashboards, exports, APIs or webhooks. If your reporting process lives in another system, verify whether the plan can export the fields and time range you need.
How the published options differ
QR Penguin: the broadest low-cost allowance
The Professional tier combines 100 dynamic codes with a vendor-listed unlimited-scan allowance, scan statistics, Google Analytics, five team members and two workspaces. That combination is practical for a small agency or business running several simultaneous print, packaging and event campaigns. The Enterprise tier expands the same general model to 1,000 codes, 50 team members and five workspaces.
The pricing page exposes monthly and annual billing choices and a currency selector. Treat the displayed dollar figure as conditional until checkout shows the billing period, currency and taxes you will actually pay. The unlimited-scan statement is a listed feature, not a promise tested under a particular traffic load.
QR Insights: stronger monitoring and data operations
Pro is sized for a small portfolio: 10 dynamic codes, a 10,000-scan monthly ceiling and 90 days of history. Realtime monitoring, CSV export, custom styling and 1,000 monthly API calls are useful when a marketer needs to watch a live launch or move data into a reporting workflow.

Choose it when agencies need repeatable provisioning or client-facing automation rather than simply more destinations.

Dynamic QR Pro: inexpensive entry with an advanced-analysis upgrade
Starter covers 10 codes and 2,500 scans per month with basic totals and trends. It also lists PNG, SVG and PDF downloads, which helps when a printer or designer needs a particular file format.
The Pro tier removes the code-count limit and raises the monthly scan allowance to 100,000. It adds all eight QR types, location, device, browser and time dimensions, CSV and Excel export, and smart rules. Prices exclude VAT, and the vendor says annual billing provides two months free. Because the allowance is still expressed as a monthly number, estimate peak activity rather than relying on an annual average.
Uniqode: low entry price tied to annual billing
Essential is listed at a $9 monthly equivalent when billed annually, with 15 dynamic codes, 60 days of analytics history, five linkpages and one user seat. Higher tiers increase code capacity and retention: Core lists 250 codes and 90 days, Plus lists 500 codes and 180 days, and Business+ lists 2,000 codes with lifetime history. The published amounts are monthly equivalents in US dollars charged on an annual basis, so they are not directly comparable with month-to-month prices elsewhere in the table.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe entry tier’s one-seat limit matters for teams. If a designer, account manager and analyst all need separate access, check whether additional seats are available and how they are priced before selecting it.
DynamicQRCodes.co.uk: high code volume in a sterling-priced plan
Pro lists 500 dynamic codes, unlimited scans, QR branding and detailed reporting. Business adds advanced analytics, API access, a custom domain, bulk QR creation and location reporting. The vendor notes that local tax may be added at checkout, so the displayed pound amount is not necessarily the final charge for every region.
Dynamic QR Code Labs: a cautious pilot option
The vendor says its free tier is available indefinitely and includes three dynamic codes, 500 scans per month, realtime country, device, operating-system and time data, editable destinations and PNG download. Those are vendor claims rather than an independently verified service guarantee. Before putting a permanent package or storefront sign on this tier, test what happens when the monthly allowance is reached and whether historical reports and redirects remain available if the account changes.
Choose by campaign size and reporting need
One to three codes for a proof of concept
A free tier can validate artwork, placement and the scan journey without a subscription commitment. Keep the pilot short, record the destination and dashboard settings, and test on several current phones. If the code will appear on packaging or a sign that cannot be replaced easily, move to a paid service after confirming redirect continuity and data retention.

Several local or event campaigns
Look for enough code slots to keep each placement separate. Separate codes let you compare a poster, table tent, flyer or transit panel without guessing which physical location generated activity. QR Penguin Professional, QR Insights Pro and Dynamic QR Pro Starter all target this scale, but their scan ceilings and history windows differ.

High-volume print, packaging or retail programs
Prioritize a large code allowance, bulk creation and a scan policy that will not stop a campaign unexpectedly. QR Penguin Enterprise, QR Insights Teams, Dynamic QR Pro Pro, Uniqode’s higher tiers and DynamicQRCodes.co.uk Pro or Business are the relevant published capacity options. Ask each vendor whether “unlimited” is subject to fair-use, throttling or other service terms.
Agency and stakeholder reporting
Exports, API calls, webhooks, workspaces, seats and white-label controls can save more time than a small price difference. QR Insights Teams emphasizes bulk and webhook workflows; QR Penguin lists multiple workspaces and Google Analytics; Dynamic QR Pro Pro lists CSV/Excel export; DynamicQRCodes.co.uk Business lists API access and bulk creation. Confirm whether exports include the dimensions and date range your client reports require.
Analytics capabilities that deserve scrutiny
Totals and trends
Basic dashboards answer “How much activity occurred?” They are adequate for a simple call-to-action where the main comparison is week over week or before and after a placement change. A total scan count does not tell you whether one person scanned repeatedly, whether a code was shared, or whether a scan produced a sale.
Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteLocation, device, browser and time
These dimensions help diagnose context: a transit poster may show activity at commute times, while a package insert may produce a different device mix. Location is generally an approximate signal derived by the service, not proof of a person’s exact address. Use the reports to allocate creative and placement decisions, not to infer identities.
History and retention
History determines how far back you can audit a campaign. The published windows range from 60 or 90 days to 180 days, unlimited history or lifetime history depending on the service and tier. If quarterly or annual client reporting matters, a short history can force regular exports. Set a calendar reminder to download CSV or Excel files before a plan change or cancellation.
Exports, APIs and integrations
CSV and Excel exports are sufficient for many spreadsheets. APIs and webhooks are more useful when a dashboard, data warehouse or client portal must update automatically. Google Analytics integration, listed by QR Penguin, should not be assumed for other vendors. Ask whether API calls count against a monthly quota and what happens when that quota is exhausted.
Set up a measurable QR campaign
- Define one destination per use case. Decide what the scan should open and what action the visitor should take. Keep separate codes for materially different placements so the resulting reports remain interpretable.
- Select a dynamic code type. Confirm that the plan includes editable destinations and that the code remains active for the entire printed life of the campaign.
- Name and document each code. Record the placement, launch date, owner and destination in your campaign sheet. This prevents a future editor from changing the wrong redirect.
- Check the analytics dimensions. Verify that the tier shows the location, device, browser or time fields you intend to report. Do not assume a higher price automatically includes every dimension.
- Export a baseline. Save the initial configuration and an empty or starting report so later changes are auditable. If the service offers CSV, Excel, API or webhook output, test it before printing.
- Test the complete scan journey. Scan from multiple phones and networks, check that the redirect opens the intended page, and verify that events appear in the dashboard. Test with camera apps rather than relying only on the platform’s preview.
- Monitor during launch. Watch the realtime or trend view where available. A sudden drop can indicate a broken destination, a depleted scan allowance, a print defect or a network problem.
- Review and archive. At the campaign’s end, export the report, note any destination changes and decide how long the redirect must remain live.
Print and placement practices that affect scan data
Analytics cannot rescue a code that people cannot scan. The QRCodeChimp marketing guide recommends a minimum size of 0.8 × 0.8 inches (2 × 2 cm), with a larger code when viewing distance or the environment demands it. That is the guide’s recommendation, not a universal engineering standard; increase the size for posters, outdoor signs or fast-moving viewers.
- Keep strong contrast between the code and its background and protect the quiet area around the symbol.
- Use a clear call to action so people know why scanning is worthwhile.
- Avoid placing the code where glare, folds, curvature or motion will obscure it.
- Test the final printed material at the distance and lighting conditions of the real placement.
- For a counter or event setup, a rigid sign holder can keep the code upright and reduce glare; the holder is an implementation accessory, not a substitute for a suitable subscription.
The guide specifically discusses print ads, billboards, posters and transit placements and advises strategic placement plus a scannability check. Those recommendations improve the chance that a recorded scan reflects campaign exposure rather than a failed attempt.

Billing, cancellation and data-continuity checks
Before paying, ask the vendor to answer these questions in writing or in its current terms:
- Is the displayed amount monthly, an annual-billing equivalent or a promotional rate?
- Which currency will be charged, and are VAT or other local taxes added?
- What happens at the scan cap: hard stop, throttling, overage billing or another policy?
- Do redirects continue after cancellation, downgrade or an expired payment method?
- How long are scan records retained, and can you export them before leaving?
- Are additional users, workspaces, domains or API calls charged separately?
- Can a code be transferred to another account or service?
The published pages do not establish every provider’s post-cancellation redirect behavior, overage handling or retention policy. Treat those as purchase gates, especially for packaging, signage and other assets that are expensive to replace.
Common problems and practical fixes
The dashboard shows no scans
First scan the printed code yourself and wait for the service’s documented reporting interval. Confirm that the destination loads and that you are viewing the correct code and date range. If the scan redirects successfully but remains absent, contact support with the timestamp, device and code identifier.
Scans stop during a campaign
Check the plan’s monthly allowance and billing status. A capped tier may stop, throttle or handle overages differently; the published comparisons do not establish a universal rule. If traffic is expected to spike, move to a plan with a higher stated allowance before the event rather than waiting for the cap.
The code works in testing but fails in print
Inspect contrast, quiet-zone space, distortion, glare and final physical size. Re-test from the normal viewing distance and with several phone cameras. Replacing a low-quality print is preferable to interpreting a low scan count as weak marketing.
Reports are too shallow for a client
Determine whether the limitation is the plan’s history window, missing dimensions, export format or user permissions. Upgrade only the constraint that blocks the report, and schedule regular exports if the required history exceeds the platform’s retention period.
A destination needs to change after printing
Use the dynamic redirect’s edit function and test the new destination immediately. Keep a record of the previous URL, editor and change time so stakeholders can explain any trend break.

Bottom-line selection
Choose QR Penguin Professional when you need many codes and an advertised unlimited-scan allowance at the lowest published entry price in this comparison. Choose QR Insights Pro for a small set of codes where realtime monitoring, CSV output and API access matter; move to Teams for bulk, webhook and white-label workflows. Choose Dynamic QR Pro Pro when advanced location, device, browser and time analysis or smart rules justify a higher allowance. Choose Uniqode when annual billing and a defined history window fit your procurement rules, and consider DynamicQRCodes.co.uk when a sterling-priced plan with hundreds of codes is the better operational match. Use Dynamic QR Code Labs only as a cautiously tested pilot until its free-tier continuity and cap behavior are confirmed.
