Zero Hour: Kyle Fletcher vs. Serpentico
Stakes: Non-title singles match. Prediction: Kyle Fletcher, with high confidence.
#1 Best Overall
- THE MISSING PIECE TO YOUR WRESTLING FIGURE ARENA: Every wrestling ring needs an official. Bring your wrestling matches to life with a highly detailed referee action figure built for championship matches, ladder matches, cage matches, battle royals, and more.
- OVER 20 POINTS OF ARTICULATION: Create realistic one, two, and three counts, officiate every pinfall, check submissions, call rope breaks, raise champions, and recreate unforgettable wrestling moments.
- 11 INTERCHANGEABLE HANDS INCLUDED: Swap between 11 hand poses for counting pinfalls, pointing, signaling rope breaks, checking submissions, and realistic match officiating.
- PERFECT SCALE FOR YOUR COLLECTION: The scale and style are perfectly matched to complement your figure collections, making him an essential addition to your wrestling figure universe.
- DURABLE CONSTRUCTION: Made with high-quality materials, this figure is built to withstand intense matches and countless hours of play.
Fletcher was the more strongly promoted singles prospect, making him the logical choice for a short pre-show showcase. Serpentico could provide entertaining resistance without needing the victory. This match was added late: it appears in AEW’s official results but not in the earlier preview’s listed Zero Hour lineup.
Zero Hour: House of Black vs. Kyle O’Reilly and Tomohiro Ishii vs. Private Party vs. Gabe Kidd and Roderick Strong
Stakes: Four-way tag match; first pinfall or submission wins, not an elimination match. Prediction: House of Black.
Malakai Black and Brody King had the strongest established-team presentation. The format also allowed Kidd, Strong, Private Party and O’Reilly/Ishii to remain protected while one team took the fall.

Zero Hour: Willow Nightingale and Tam Nakano vs. Kris Statlander and Momo Watanabe
Stakes: Non-title tag match. Prediction: Willow Nightingale and Tam Nakano.
The cross-promotional alliance gave Willow and Tam a natural reason to win, while the tension involving Statlander and Momo supplied the storyline conflict.
Zero Hour: Saraya vs. Mariah May — Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament quarterfinal
Stakes: Tournament advancement. Prediction: Mariah May.

- TrueFX Technology! Facial design features life-like looks for added collectability.
- Ultimately Collectible! WWE fans can find their favorite Superstars (each sold separately, subject to availability).
May was central to the Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa story, so advancing her kept her close to the AEW Women’s World Championship picture.
Zero Hour: Místico and the Lucha Brothers vs. Los Ingobernables de Japón
Stakes: International showcase tag match. Prediction: Místico, Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fénix.
The CMLL/AEW combination was the more obvious crowd-pleasing unit, and a win would spotlight lucha libre without disrupting a championship program.
MJF vs. Hechicero
Stakes: Non-title singles match. Prediction: MJF.
MJF was returning to action in his home region and needed to re-enter AEW’s top-level orbit. Hechicero could gain credibility through a competitive technical performance, while MJF’s victory would reestablish his character.
The Elite vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi and The Acclaimed
Stakes: Six-man tag match. Prediction: The Elite.
Kazuchika Okada and The Young Bucks represented AEW’s ruling faction. Okada pinning Tanahashi would reinforce their long rivalry and advance the tension with The Acclaimed, while the multi-person format protected the losers.
Bryan Danielson vs. Shingo Takagi — Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament quarterfinal
Stakes: Tournament advancement, not a championship. Prediction: Bryan Danielson.

Danielson was the logical tournament favorite. His submission wrestling against Shingo’s power-based offense gave the bout prestige, and the winner had an immediate path to PAC on the following AEW Dynamite.
Toni Storm vs. Mina Shirakawa — AEW Women’s World Championship
Stakes: AEW Women’s World Championship. Prediction: Toni Storm retains.
Storm’s reign and character were central to the women’s division. Mina could lose while gaining international exposure, and Storm retaining preserved the emotional conflict involving Mariah May and both challengers.
Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Orange Cassidy
Stakes: Non-title singles match. Prediction: Zack Sabre Jr.
This was one of the clearest style-versus-style matches: Sabre’s submission expertise against Cassidy’s unorthodox counters. Sabre could win decisively without making Cassidy look weak or requiring a broader angle.
Chris Jericho, Jeff Cobb and Big Bill vs. HOOK, Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata
Stakes: Six-man tag centered on HOOK’s feud with Jericho. Prediction: HOOK, Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata.

HOOK needed a meaningful victory over the veteran who had taken the FTW Championship from him. Joe and Shibata balanced Jericho’s team physically, while Jericho could absorb a loss and continue the feud. Jeff Cobb’s NJPW World Television Championship was not at stake.

Participants: Jack Perry, Konosuke Takeshita, Mark Briscoe, Dante Martin, Lio Rush and El Phantasmo.
Stakes: The vacant TNT Championship. Prediction: Jack Perry.
Perry’s “Scapegoat” character was closely aligned with The Elite, making the TNT title a logical singles achievement. Takeshita was arguably the most athletically dominant alternative and Briscoe had strong fan support, but a ladder-match finish could protect everyone while advancing Perry’s faction story.
Mercedes Moné vs. Stephanie Vaquer — TBS Championship and NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship
Stakes: Two championships contested in one title-versus-title match. Prediction: Mercedes Moné.
Moné was being positioned as an international headline star, so leaving with both belts offered the clearest payoff. Vaquer could establish herself with a strong performance even in defeat. The titles were held by one wrestler afterward; they were not automatically merged into one championship.

Jon Moxley vs. Tetsuya Naito — IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
Stakes: IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Prediction: Jon Moxley retains, with lower confidence.
Moxley was the defending champion and AEW’s representative, giving him the straightforward booking case. However, Naito winning would return the title decisively toward NJPW and provide one of the event’s biggest surprises, making this a genuine uncertainty.
Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay — AEW World Championship
Stakes: AEW World Championship. Prediction: Swerve Strickland retains, with high confidence.
Recommended Free Tools
Swerve was the established champion and needed a major victory over one of AEW’s newest headline attractions. Ospreay could lose while gaining momentum through the match itself, whereas a clean Swerve win would strengthen the reign and the champion’s credibility.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What was most at stake?
- AEW World Championship: Swerve’s reign was tested by Ospreay’s rapid rise.
- IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Moxley represented AEW while Naito offered NJPW a credible title change.
- TBS and NJPW STRONG Women’s Championships: Moné and Vaquer put two separate title lineages into one high-profile match.
- AEW Women’s World Championship: Storm, Shirakawa and May made the bout as much about character relationships as the belt.
- TNT Championship: The vacant title made the ladder match an opportunity for a new singles centerpiece.
- Owen Hart tournament: Danielson, Shingo and May were fighting for bracket position rather than championships.

What the results changed
- Naito’s victory was the event’s clearest major upset and the most consequential prediction miss.
- Moné became a double champion without the TBS and STRONG titles being described as unified.
- Perry’s TNT victory advanced The Elite’s influence while converting the vacant-title stipulation into a storyline accomplishment.
- Swerve’s retention preserved AEW’s central title program and established him against Ospreay’s challenge.
- Storm’s win kept the May–Storm–Shirakawa relationship active rather than ending it with a title switch.
Where to find the event
AEW’s contemporaneous July 1, 2024 results post listed PPV.COM, TrillerTV, YouTube and DAZN PPV among replay outlets. That historical listing does not guarantee availability or pricing in 2026. Check the vendor directly before purchasing.
- PPV.COM — individual-event purchase where archived.
- TrillerTV — broader wrestling-video library, subject to regional listings.
- DAZN — availability and pricing vary by market.
- AEW official site and AEW Shop — event information and official merchandise, not necessarily replay access.
Verdict
Forbidden Door 2024 delivered the format’s essential mix: major AEW and NJPW title stakes, CMLL and Stardom representation, tournament consequences and international dream-match appeal. Swerve’s defense, Moné’s double-title victory and Naito’s upset gave the card lasting consequences, while the late-added Fletcher–Serpentico bout is why the final results should be checked separately from the original preview.
