Aether Industries says authorities have dropped a GST demand of ₹4,26,16,311, plus interest, over input tax credit claimed on expenses related to its IPO. The company said the order was issued on October 1, 2026, and that the authority considered the credit fair and legitimate, with no financial implications for the company.
Why did Aether Industries receive a GST demand?
The notice concerned input tax credit claimed on expenses related to Aether Industries’ IPO during FY 2020-21 and FY 2021-22. The Additional Commissioner (AE), CGST & Central Excise Commissionerate, Surat, issued a demand for ₹4,26,16,311—about ₹4.26 crore—plus interest.

Aether said it received the demand and show-cause notice on April 23, 2026, and disclosed it to the stock exchanges on April 24, 2026. The notice therefore covered IPO-related expenses across both financial years, not FY 2021-22 alone.
What happened to the demand?
In an exchange filing dated October 2, 2026, Aether reported that the authority dropped the proceedings through an order issued on October 1. The filing says the authority considered the availed tax credit fair and legitimate. Aether also reported that the outcome has no financial implications for the company.

Nor does the filing describe the dropped demand as a tax refund, a company-wide tax benefit, or a balance-sheet write-back. It reports that the proceedings were dropped and that the result carries no financial implications for Aether.
