The AEG NIK85M00AZ is an 80 cm, five-zone induction hob with two-zone DoubleBridge linking, Hob²Hood control and a matte SaphirMatt surface. Its published specifications make it possible to assess fit and features, but they do not establish how it performs in independent real-world cooking tests. Before buying, check the cabinet cutout, hardwired electrical requirements, cookware needs and compatibility with your extractor hood.
What is the AEG NIK85M00AZ?
It is a built-in induction hob sold in the UK as the Series 6000 MultiBridge SaphirMatt. The model is also listed by AEG Australia. The UK product page gives PNC 949598184, while the manual’s rating plate identifies PNC 949 598 162 00. Those different product numbers are a reason to confirm the rating plate and local documentation before comparing listings or ordering parts; do not assume regional versions or parts are interchangeable.

Will it fit your kitchen?
On AEG’s UK listing, the hob measures 800 × 520 mm overall and requires a built-in space of 44 × 750 × 490 mm. These are different measurements: check the cutout and installation clearances against the documentation for the exact local product, rather than relying on the overall size alone.
#1 Best Overall
- HIGH EFFICIENTY AND NO HOT KITCHEN - ChangBERT induction cooktop offers 9 preset power levels (200-1800W) and 18 preset temperature settings (120-460℉). transfers energy directly to magnetic cookware, heating the cookware itself rather than the surface for up to 83% energy efficiency. This direct heating method is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves, delivering instant response and stable performance, providing quick heat-up under high-demand kitchen environments.
- CONSISTENTLY STABLE HIGH-POWER WITH ONE-CLICK MAX 1800W POWER BUTTON - This induction burner built for constant use, it features continuous-duty circuitry for non-stop cooking, including an upgraded control board with dual IGBT. This dependable performance sets it apart from others.
- LARGE COOKING AREA WITH 8-INCH HEATING COIL ENSURES PRECISE TEMPERATURE CONTROL FOR EVEN COOKING - Features an expanded 8” magnetic coil design that optimizes the winding structure to enhance the transfer of electromagnetic energy directly to the cookware, improving heating efficiency and ensuring more even heat distribution across the bottom of the cookware. This precise temperature control maintains steady heat to handling large cookwares for both professional kitchens and daily cooking.
- NSF CERTIFIED & COMMERCIAL GRADE DURABILITY - UL commercial standard 197, completely ETL & NSF approved. It meets industry durability standards, passing a drop test with an impact of 1.5 ft lbs. This cooker designed for large-volume usage, it is ideal for commercial and professional settings such as restaurants, hotel buffets, food trucks, institutional kitchens and catering services, while also perfect for large-volume usage.

The extended 12-hour timer supports long simmering and unattended cooking with confidence. A large dual digital display clearly shows power or temperature and timer at the same time, easy to read in all lighting conditions and angles. Every upgrade delivers smoother operation for daily cooking.
The UK listing specifies a hardwired connection. The manual’s rating plate gives 7.2 kW and 220–240 V / 400 V 2N at 50 Hz. Confirm that the supply and wiring arrangements suit your kitchen, and have a qualified installer check local requirements before purchase or installation. A product listing is not a substitute for an assessment of your home’s electrical supply.
How do the five zones and DoubleBridge work?
The manual lists five induction zones, each with a stated 21 cm diameter and a recommended cookware diameter range of 125–210 mm. Each zone is rated at 2300 W nominal and 3200 W with PowerBoost. These figures do not mean every zone can deliver full boost at the same time: power management shares available supply across zones on the same phase.
DoubleBridge links two zones so they operate as one cooking area, which can be useful for cookware that spans both. The manual says the pot must cover the centers of the two zones. That requirement matters when choosing a griddle or other long pan: linking zones adds flexibility, but does not guarantee even or suitable heating for every pan shape and size.

For induction, AEG recommends cookware with a thick, flat base. Keep cookware clean and dry before use. The manual also cautions against sliding or rubbing pans against the glass edges or trim, which can chip or damage the surface.
What do Hob²Hood and the controls do?
Hob²Hood lets the hob communicate with a compatible special hood. According to the manual, the hood’s fan speed is set automatically based on the selected mode and the temperature of the hottest cookware; manual fan control is also possible. The hood’s remote-control system may need to be activated, and setup instructions are in the hood’s own manual. Check compatibility and setup requirements for your specific hood rather than assuming any extractor will connect.
The Pause function sets active cooking zones to their lowest heat setting; it does not stop timer functions. The manual also describes a Child Safety Device and control-lock functions. Consult the manual for how to activate them and how they behave, particularly if you expect Pause to suspend all activity.

Is the SaphirMatt surface scratch-resistant?
AEG says the SaphirMatt surface is up to 10 times more scratch-resistant than a standard hob surface. The manufacturer attributes that claim to an external abrasion test under IEC 60068-2-70 and an internal comparison of scratch visibility. This is a qualified AEG claim, not independent consumer testing, and it does not mean the glass is scratch-proof. The manual’s advice to avoid dragging cookware against the surface remains relevant.

AEG’s UK product-information record gives hob energy consumption of 183.5 Wh/kg under EN 60350-2. This is a standardized product figure, not a prediction of household electricity use or bills; actual consumption depends on cooking habits and use.
When accessed on 7 October 2026, AEG’s UK page displayed 4.5 stars from 51 ratings, and AEG Australia’s support page displayed 4.6 stars from 14 ratings. These are separate regional displays on the manufacturer’s own sites, not a combined or representative independent owner survey, and the counts can change. They should not be treated as evidence of independently verified cooking performance or long-term durability.

- PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage
- Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves
- DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
- Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning
The AEG UK product-information record contains the standardized energy figure. The manufacturer’s Australian support page provides regional support information and showed the Australian rating display when accessed.
Who is this hob a good fit for?
The NIK85M00AZ is worth considering if you want a five-zone induction hob in an 80 cm format and have a practical use for linked cooking zones or compatible hood control. Its fit depends on details that are easy to overlook: the cutout dimensions, the hardwired connection in the UK listing, the available electrical supply, your cookware and your hood.
It is harder to recommend on the basis of real-world performance alone. The cited manufacturer material and manual establish specifications and operating behavior, but do not provide independent cooking tests or long-term durability evidence. For a comparison with another 80 cm induction hob, check the actual cutout and wiring, zone layout, linked-zone requirements, hood compatibility, power management, local price and warranty, and local parts and service availability.
