Adventure of Tech VI currently targets Minecraft Java Edition 26.1.2 on NeoForge. Use the matching Adventure of Tech VI-v0.5.1.zip client release, or the separate Adventure of Tech VI Server Pack-v0.5.1.zip for a dedicated server. Keep the Minecraft version, NeoForge loader, modpack release and server files identical for every player, and back up existing worlds before updating.

What Adventure of Tech VI is

Adventure of Tech VI is Tralty’s sixth Minecraft modpack release, built for players who want technology systems alongside exploration, progression and combat. CurseForge classifies it in the Tech, Adventure and RPG, Multiplayer, Combat/PvP and Quests categories. Its design combines guided objectives with an open-ended base-building loop: explore, gather resources, construct and decorate a base, then develop technology to advance.

The project description presents the quests as a route toward becoming powerful rather than as a short tutorial. You are expected to use the quest guidance, learn the included machinery and acquire rare items over a longer world. That makes version discipline particularly important: changing one player’s mods or loader can break recipes, quest progress or world loading for everyone else.

Current release and compatibility

The current files identified for this guide are the v0.5.1 client and server archives uploaded on September 24, 2026. Both target Minecraft 26.1.2 and NeoForge. Do not substitute a Forge, Fabric or different NeoForge/Minecraft combination just because another modpack uses it.

The project page showed 51,529 downloads in a 2026 CurseForge snapshot. That number is a captured page total, not a guarantee of current activity or support. The project is listed as All Rights Reserved, so do not redistribute its archives or repack them without permission.

What you need before installing

  • A Minecraft Java Edition account and a launcher that can install NeoForge modpacks or import a CurseForge project archive.
  • The v0.5.1 client archive for every player. A server operator also needs the separate v0.5.1 server-pack archive.
  • Enough free disk space for the archive, the extracted instance, generated chunks, logs and backups. The published archive sizes are 71.1 MB for the client and 356.5 MB for the server; the running installation will be larger.
  • A fresh backup of every existing world before changing from an earlier release.
  • Permission to write to the launcher’s instance directory and, for a server, to the folder where the server pack will be unpacked.

The official project and release pages do not publish a Java runtime version, minimum or recommended RAM, operating-system commands, required CPU, storage target or network port. Treat those as deployment variables to verify from the server pack’s included scripts and documentation rather than as fixed Adventure of Tech VI specifications.

Install the client

Use the launcher’s normal modpack workflow where possible. The labels differ between launchers, but the sequence is the same: create an isolated instance, select the correct game and loader versions, import the pack, then launch that instance.

  1. Choose an isolated instance. Do not install the pack into an unmodified vanilla profile or into another modpack’s directory. Isolation prevents configuration files, shader settings and saves from being mixed.
  2. Set the game version to Minecraft 26.1.2. If the launcher asks for a loader, select NeoForge, not Forge or Fabric.
  3. Import the official client archive. Select Adventure of Tech VI-v0.5.1.zip through the launcher’s import or “add profile” function. If you use the project page’s installation button, confirm that the resulting profile reports v0.5.1.
  4. Let the launcher resolve files. Allow it to download the listed mods and create the instance before adding personal changes. Do not copy a different pack’s mods folder over it.
  5. Launch once without custom additions. The first run creates configuration files and can take longer while the instance is prepared. Reach the title screen, then close the game so you can make a backup of the new instance if desired.
  6. Open the correct profile for play. The profile should identify Minecraft 26.1.2 and NeoForge. If either label differs, stop and correct the instance before opening a world.

Keep the original archive. It gives you a known-good installation source if a later configuration experiment prevents the instance from starting.

Updating an existing world to v0.5.1

Version 0.5.1 changes quests, restores the intended recipe behavior for the Spirit Attuned Gem, changes how plates are made with a hammer, updates shaders, and updates NeoForge and other mods. Those changes can affect progression and crafting expectations, which is why the release notes explicitly say to back up worlds before updating.

  1. Close Minecraft and stop the server, if the world is multiplayer.
  2. Copy the entire world or server save directory to a separate location. Keep at least one backup that is not inside the live instance folder.
  3. Record the old pack version and any custom configuration or added mods. A clean rollback requires the old files as well as the old save.
  4. Install v0.5.1 in a new instance, or replace the existing instance only after the backup is verified.
  5. Start the backed-up copy first if you want to test the update. Check that the world loads, quests appear, and key recipes behave as expected.
  6. Only then open the primary world with the updated client. Do not load the same save in the old and new versions alternately without restoring a matching backup.

If a world fails to load, preserve the failing copy and restore the backup into an instance containing the earlier pack version. Do not delete the original save while troubleshooting.

Set up a dedicated Adventure of Tech VI server

The server release is a separate archive: Adventure of Tech VI Server Pack-v0.5.1.zip. It is 356.5 MB and was uploaded September 24, 2026. A client archive is not a substitute for the server pack; use the server distribution intended for dedicated operation.

1. Prepare a clean server directory

Create a new directory with enough free space for the 356.5 MB archive, extracted files, logs, world data and backups. Avoid placing it inside a client instance directory. Copy the downloaded server archive into this directory and unpack it with a tool that preserves the folder structure.

2. Inspect the supplied files

Before starting anything, read the server pack’s included instructions and inspect its startup scripts. The official project pages do not state the Java version, memory flags or operating-system command. Use the scripts and documentation that ship with the release to determine those details; do not copy launch arguments from an unrelated pack.

3. Accept the game’s terms when prompted

On a first start, a Minecraft server commonly creates configuration files and may require an end-user-license setting before it will continue. Follow the prompt in the supplied server files and start it again using the pack’s documented method. The exact filename and command are not specified on the project page, so verify them locally rather than assuming a particular operating system.

  • SURVIVAL ADVENTURES — Face mysterious foes, travel across varied landscapes, and venture into perilous dimensions.

  • COMMUNITY PLAY — Connect with players on community servers, or subscribe to Realms Plus (sold separately) to play with up to 10 friends on a private server.

4. Start without custom mods

Run the unmodified server pack first. Watch the console for a completed startup message and stop the server cleanly before making configuration changes. A clean first boot distinguishes a pack installation problem from a later change to permissions, world data or networking.

5. Create or place the world

For a new game, allow the server to generate its world after the first successful start. To use an existing world, stop the server, copy the save into the location named by the pack’s configuration, and confirm that the world name and level settings point to that directory. Always retain the original save elsewhere.

6. Make the server reachable

Players on the same local network can usually connect using the host computer’s local address once the server is running. Players outside that network need a reachable address and a router or firewall rule for the port selected by the server configuration. Adventure of Tech VI’s official pages do not publish a required port number or port-forwarding procedure, so read the generated configuration and your router documentation before opening access. Expose only the port you actually use, and restrict administration interfaces to trusted users.

7. Test with one matching client

Install the v0.5.1 client on a test computer and confirm that it reports Minecraft 26.1.2 and NeoForge. Connect locally first, then test from the intended remote network. Check that the player can enter the world, open the quest interface and craft a basic item before inviting everyone else.

Client and server version matching

Component Required value for this release What happens if it differs
Minecraft 26.1.2 The loader or mods may reject the connection, or the world may not load safely.
Mod loader NeoForge A Fabric or Forge profile is not an interchangeable installation.
Pack release v0.5.1 Different mod lists and configs can cause missing-mod errors, recipe differences or quest problems.
Server distribution Adventure of Tech VI Server Pack-v0.5.1.zip A client-only archive does not provide the intended dedicated-server files.

When a player cannot join, compare these four values on both sides before changing firewall rules or deleting files. Everyone should update together rather than allowing a mixture of releases.

RAM, Java and hardware: what is known

No official Adventure of Tech VI page in the current release information publishes a minimum RAM figure, recommended RAM figure, Java version, processor requirement or operating-system support list. It would be misleading to present a precise number as an official requirement.

Use the following process instead:

  • Read the server pack’s startup script and documentation for its Java executable and memory settings.
  • Check the NeoForge and Minecraft 26.1.2 requirements associated with the exact release you installed.
  • Start with the pack’s supplied settings, then observe memory use, garbage-collection pauses, tick time and crash logs during a realistic test with the expected number of players.
  • Leave operating-system memory available for the host, file cache and other services. Assigning all physical RAM to Java can make the server less stable.
  • Increase resources only when logs or measured performance show a bottleneck. More RAM cannot fix an incorrect loader, a damaged world or an unreachable network port.

For a managed service, ask the provider to confirm Java compatibility, available memory, storage, automated backups and whether the exact NeoForge 26.1.2 pack can be imported. Those are service questions, not figures established by the modpack’s official page.

Self-hosting versus managed hosting

A dedicated server pack makes either approach possible. The right choice depends on who should handle the operating system, backups and network exposure.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Factor Self-hosting at home or on your own machine Managed Minecraft server hosting
Upfront hardware cost You provide a computer, storage and a reliable network connection; the official pack does not specify a required hardware model. Usually no separate server purchase, but the service plan and its limits determine available resources.
Recurring cost Electricity, internet service and replacement hardware are your responsibility. A recurring hosting fee; exact prices and resource limits vary by provider and are not specified by the pack.
Setup effort You unpack the server, verify Java, configure the OS, maintain updates and troubleshoot the network. The provider typically supplies a control panel, installation workflow and support, but you still need to import the correct server pack.
File and mod control Full access to scripts, configs, worlds and backups. Control depends on the panel and plan; confirm that custom NeoForge files and scheduled tasks are allowed.
Backups You design, test and store backups yourself. Check whether backups are automatic, how long they are retained and whether restores are included.
Uptime Limited by your machine, power and internet connection. Often supported by datacenter infrastructure, subject to the provider’s service terms.
Network exposure You must configure the firewall, router and port access and protect the host. The provider normally supplies a public address, while you still control player permissions and server security.

Whichever option you choose, request confirmation that the provider supports a dedicated NeoForge server rather than only vanilla or a different loader. The exact pack, game version and loader still have to match every client.

Backups and routine maintenance

Use a stop-copy-start cycle

Stop the server before copying a world. A live copy can capture partially written region or player files. Store backups outside the active server directory, label them with the pack version and date, and periodically restore one to a test directory so you know the files are usable.

Keep release files together

Archive the client and server downloads alongside notes identifying Minecraft 26.1.2, NeoForge and v0.5.1. This prevents an ambiguous “latest” download from being paired with an older world. Record any configuration edits and added datapacks so another administrator can reproduce the installation.

Read update notes before applying them

The v0.5.1 notes specifically mention rearranged quests, the restored Spirit Attuned Gem recipe behavior, hammer-made plates, updated shaders, an updated NeoForge release and updated mods. Review those changes with players before updating a shared world, then follow the backup procedure above.

Troubleshooting checklist

The launcher starts the wrong profile

Open the instance settings and verify Minecraft 26.1.2, NeoForge and v0.5.1. If any value is different, create a clean profile from the official client archive instead of layering files onto the incorrect one.

The server reports missing mods or rejects a connection

Compare the client and server pack versions, loader and game version character for character. Remove manually added client-only mods from the test profile and connect with an unmodified v0.5.1 client. If the server archive was never unpacked completely, extract it again into a clean directory.

A world crashes after updating

Stop using the updated copy, preserve its logs, and restore the backup made before v0.5.1. Test the update on a duplicate world. Do not keep opening the only copy in alternating versions.

Players cannot connect from outside the home network

First test a local connection. If local play works, inspect the server’s configured port, the host firewall, router forwarding and the address given to remote players. The modpack does not publish a universal port number, so use the value in your generated server configuration rather than a guessed port.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The server is slow or runs out of memory

Check the server log and operating-system monitor, then compare observed use with the memory settings in the supplied startup script. Confirm the Java runtime expected by the pack and leave headroom for the operating system. Do not treat an unverified internet RAM recommendation as an official requirement for this release.
