News reports say some students in India can get Photoshop at no charge for the first year, but the offer is not confirmed as available to every Adobe account and its full official terms are unclear. Smartprix reports a ₹2 UPI AutoPay activation and a ₹1,999 annual renewal; check the exact plan, payment authorization and renewal shown in your Adobe checkout before accepting. Adobe’s documented student offer is different: a seven-day trial followed by a paid plan.

Smartprix also reported the promotion on 5 October 2026, including a ₹1,999 annual renewal. Adobe’s official India pages reviewed here do not confirm the individual promotion’s eligibility, offer end date, exact plan entitlements, or cancellation rules. Treat the offer as available only if it appears in your own Adobe checkout, and rely on the terms displayed there before you proceed.
How to check and claim the reported offer
Smartprix describes a checkout flow in which a student enters a name and email, provides college details, selects UPI and makes a ₹2 payment to activate UPI AutoPay. It reports that the first year then costs ₹0 and the plan renews at ₹1,999 per year unless AutoPay is canceled before the period ends. Adobe’s official pages cited here do not confirm this specific flow or its terms.

How the reported promotion compares with Adobe’s documented options
| Route | Who can use it | Cost and term | How it is obtained |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reported individual Photoshop promotion | Gadgets 360 says students must provide college details and that the offer is not available to all accounts. Full eligibility terms are not confirmed. | Gadgets 360 reports ₹0 for the first year and ₹1,999 per year on renewal. Smartprix reports a ₹2 UPI AutoPay activation and the same annual renewal. | Check Adobe checkout for your account. Smartprix reports a UPI-based flow, but Adobe’s cited official pages do not verify it. |
| Adobe’s documented student plan | Individual students may qualify with a verified school-issued email; Adobe may request other proof if the email is unavailable or cannot be verified. | Seven-day trial, then ₹398.99 per month including GST for the first year on an annual billed-monthly plan; ₹699.01 per month including GST afterward. | Available through Adobe’s India student pricing page. The page says the plan includes more than 20 apps and 100 GB of cloud storage. |
| Free Creative Cloud Pro for Higher Education | Eligible, verified higher-education institutions in India; students access licenses through a participating institution. | Free institutional offer; individual student pricing and terms are not stated on the Adobe India higher-education page. | The institution must meet Adobe’s eligibility and verification requirements, configure Federated IDs and receive licenses. Ask your institution whether it participates. |
What Adobe’s official student plan costs
Adobe’s India student page documents a seven-day Creative Cloud Pro trial, followed by ₹398.99 per month including GST during the first year on an annual billed-monthly plan. After that first year, the listed price is ₹699.01 per month including GST. Adobe describes the plan as including more than 20 apps and 100 GB of cloud storage. This documented student plan is a paid subscription after the trial, not a free year of Photoshop.
Adobe says a verified school-issued email can qualify a purchaser for student pricing. If the email is unavailable or cannot be verified, Adobe may ask after purchase for proof such as a student ID, report card, transcript or fee receipt. Check the pricing page and checkout for the terms applicable when you subscribe.
Can a college provide Photoshop for free?
Adobe separately offers Creative Cloud Pro for Higher Education in India to qualifying institutions. Adobe says an institution must be constituted under Indian law, accredited by a competent government or statutory authority and pass education verification. It must configure Federated IDs; after Adobe validates the institution, licenses are provisioned to it. The institution then tells participating students and faculty how to access them.
This is an institution-led licensing route, not a direct individual student claim. Ask your college or university whether it participates and how its students access the licenses.
