Does it cook well?
The accessible CHOICE page does not show the SCR-15’s Expert Rating or its cooking-performance scores for high and low settings, or its ease-of-use score. Those results are member-only. Without the actual scores, there is not enough public evidence here to conclude that the cooker performs well or poorly.

The page also does not specify whether the SCR-15 has an end-of-cooking indicator, keep-warm or automatic-warm behavior, delayed start, or pre-programmed settings. Do not assume it has a particular control or feature based on another Adesso cooker.
Who might find a 1.5L cooker useful?
A small cooker may suit a household that wants to make a modest dish rather than a large batch. A 2018 Slow Cooker Central review describes using an Adesso 1.5L cooker for side dishes, desserts, small households, and caravan travel. These are qualitative examples, not a tested serving-size guide or proof that the SCR-15 is suitable for every such use.

ProductReview.com.au displayed two reviews when accessed in 2026. One reviewer described using a 1.5L Adesso cooker for a couple and in a caravan, and reported that food cooked faster than expected. That is one owner’s experience, not a measured cooking-time finding you should generalize to other units or recipes.

Halving ingredients is a reasonable starting point for scaling a recipe by volume from a 3.5L cooker to a cooker with a claimed 1.5L capacity, but it is not a guaranteed conversion. The SCR-15’s capacity is less than half of 3.5L, and the amount a recipe can hold also depends on the shape and usable space of each cooker. The available product information does not establish a safe or ideal fill level for this model.

Do not automatically halve the cooking time. Reducing ingredient quantities does not produce a reliable time conversion, and this evidence does not establish how the SCR-15 cooks relative to a larger cooker. Use a recipe and operating guidance intended for the exact model where possible, and check that food is cooked as the recipe requires rather than relying on a simple time calculation.
What the manual and care information can—and cannot—confirm
A Woolworths-hosted Adesso manual is explicitly for model XJ-14220, not SCR-15. It cannot confirm the SCR-15’s controls, operating steps, safety specifications, care instructions, or cooking times. The CHOICE listing does say the SCR-15’s ceramic bowl is suitable for dishwasher and fridge use; it does not establish whether the lid or other parts share those permissions.

What to check before buying one
- Confirm the model number on the appliance or listing is SCR-15; an Adesso 1.5L cooker with a different model number is not automatically the same product.
- Ask the seller to verify current condition, included components, and any applicable warranty or returns terms. CHOICE’s recorded one-year warranty is not a guarantee of current coverage.
- Check whether the control features you need are documented for the SCR-15 itself. The accessible CHOICE listing does not establish those features.
- If the exact model is unavailable, search for “1.5L mini slow cooker” as a category, then compare capacity, dimensions, weight, bowl material and cleaning compatibility, confirmed controls, independent cooking results, warranty terms, and current availability. A category alternative is not the SCR-15.
Verdict
The Adesso SCR-15’s public record establishes a compact 1.5L claimed capacity, ceramic bowl, 2kg weight, and small footprint; CHOICE also marks it discontinued. But without accessible cooking and usability scores, and with key controls unspecified, the evidence supports a cautious description—not a performance recommendation. Consider it only if you can verify the exact model and its condition, or use its specifications as a checklist when comparing currently available mini slow cookers.
