You can manage custom fonts in Canva through a Brand Kit. In the Android app, start at More → Brand Kit, then look for the font-upload option in the kit. Canva documents Brand Kit setup on mobile, but its Help Center does not provide a verified Android-only sequence of taps, so the labels and upload control may differ by app version, account, or permissions.
Before you try to upload a font
Check that your Canva account, font file, and font license meet Canva’s requirements. Custom fonts are managed through Brand Kits; they are not added through the ordinary media-upload workflow.

- Eligible account: Canva lists Pro, Teams, Business, Education, and Nonprofits as eligible for custom-font uploads. Eligibility does not necessarily mean every user in a team can manage its Brand Kit.
- Supported file: Canva lists
.otf,.ttf, and.woffas supported font formats. - Embedding rights: The font’s license must permit embedding. If it does not, Canva may reject the upload.
- Kit limit: Canva’s current Help Center guidance allows up to 500 uploaded fonts in one Brand Kit.

Where to look in the Canva Android app
- Open Canva and tap More. Canva’s mobile navigation guide lists Brand Kits under this tab; exact labels or placement can change with app updates. See Canva’s mobile app navigation guide.
- Tap Brand Kit, then choose the kit you want to update. If you do not have a kit, create one if your account and role allow it.
- Within the kit setup, look for the option to upload or add a font. Select the font file from your device when prompted.
- Follow any on-screen confirmation or licensing prompt, then check the kit’s font list to see whether the font was added.
The route through More and Brand Kit follows Canva’s mobile navigation and Brand Kit setup guidance. Canva does not publish a specific Android-only tap sequence for the font-upload control, so the final labels and steps above that point are not guaranteed to match every app build.

If you cannot find the upload option
Confirm your account and role
Make sure the account is one of the eligible types listed above. In a team or organization, Brand Kits may be managed by administrators or brand designers; Education accounts can have different role arrangements. For a personal Brand Kit, an administrator may need to enable the option. Ask the account administrator or brand designer to confirm your access if the kit is visible but you cannot edit it. Canva describes these distinctions in its Brand Kit setup guide.
Try Canva on desktop as a fallback
If the upload control is not visible in the Android app, use Canva’s desktop site or app, or ask an authorized Brand Kit manager to upload the file. This is a practical fallback, not evidence that Android cannot upload fonts: Canva’s documentation covers Brand Kit setup on mobile, but does not confirm that every Android account or app version exposes the same control.

Do not use the general media-upload flow
The regular Uploads area is for media such as photos, video, and audio; Canva’s media-upload guidance does not document font installation there. Use the Brand Kit workflow instead. See Canva’s guide to uploading media from a device.

Uploading a font to a Brand Kit is not the same as configuring Brand Controls. Canva says Brand Controls cannot be set up in its mobile app, although existing folder controls still apply while editing on mobile. If you are trying to change those controls rather than add a font, use the appropriate desktop workflow; see Canva’s Brand Controls guidance.
