Acer Nitro V RTX 5070 vs. RTX 5060: Which Gaming Laptop Should You Buy?

Buy the RTX 5070 only if the exact Nitro V configuration offers a worthwhile performance gain for your games at a price you can justify. The GPU name alone does not settle the choice: Nitro V models use different power limits, and their processors, memory, storage and displays can vary by SKU and region. In one same-limit Nitro V 15 comparison, the RTX 5070 led by about 7–8% in two synthetic benchmarks—not a measured guarantee of the same gain in games. LaptopMedia’s test

What the RTX 5070 versus RTX 5060 comparison comes down to

There is no universal winner across the Acer Nitro V range. A higher GPU tier may deliver more performance, but the model name does not tell you how much power the GPU can use, which other components are included, or what the laptop costs in your country. Compare complete model numbers and regional SKUs, not just “Nitro V 5070” against “Nitro V 5060.” Acer notes that specifications vary by model and region in its Nitro V specifications and graphics-power information.

The available direct comparison is narrow: LaptopMedia tested RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 versions of the Nitro V 15 ANV15-A31, both under a 75 W GPU limit. Its results suggest a modest synthetic benchmark advantage for the 5070. They do not establish a universal uplift in game frame rates, or show that every Nitro V 5070 configuration performs similarly.

GPU power limits differ across Nitro V models

Acer’s Canada GPU table lists different maximum graphics power figures for different Nitro V families. These are family examples, not a substitute for checking the exact SKU you are considering.

Nitro V 16S ANV16S-71 85 W 85 W
Nitro V 16S AI ANV16S-61/41 85 W 85 W

These figures show why a GPU label is not enough to predict results. The table also does not establish that configurations from different families are otherwise comparable. For example, Acer’s listed Nitro V 15 ANV15-52 generation has a 5060 option but no 5070 option in the table. Do not assume both GPU tiers are available in every size or model year.

Retail listings can describe specific configurations differently from a broad family table. Acer’s Singapore store, for example, lists some 2026 Nitro V 16 configurations with either GPU and a 75 W GPU listing; those examples have 8 GB graphics memory and a 16-inch WUXGA 180 Hz display, but other components differ across listings. Verify the full configuration and its power specification on the listing for your country. Acer Singapore Nitro V listings

What the direct benchmark comparison actually shows

In LaptopMedia’s Nitro V 15 ANV15-A31 comparison, both RTX configurations used a 75 W limit. The reviewer reported the following results for the RTX 5070 configuration and its lead over the RTX 5060 version:

These are the reviewer’s results in two synthetic tests, not game-FPS measurements or a promise that the 5070 will be 7–8% faster in every workload. LaptopMedia’s source capture does not confirm a publication year for these figures. For a game-specific buying decision, look for testing of the same model and power configuration in the games and settings you use.

Compare the complete laptop, not just its GPU

Configurations with the same Nitro V family name can still differ in ways that affect gaming, everyday use and value. Acer’s US listing for the Nitro V 16 ANV16-72-70F4, for example, specified a Core 7 240H, 16 GB DDR5, a 512 GB SSD and a 16-inch 1920×1200 180 Hz display. The page showed $1,299.99 and out of stock when accessed; that is a dated listing snapshot, not a current price or a matched comparison against an RTX 5070 model. A separate PC Gamer review unit, the Nitro V 15 (2025) ANV15-52-710T, had a Core i7-13620H, RTX 5060 with 8 GB graphics memory, 16 GB DDR4, a 1 TB SSD and a 15.6-inch 1920×1080 165 Hz IPS display. • Exact model and country: Record the full model number and SKU suffix. Nitro V 15, V 16, V 16 AI and V 16S are distinct families, and regional availability differs.
  • GPU power: Confirm the listed graphics power for that specific configuration; do not infer it from “RTX 5070” or “RTX 5060.”
  • Processor: Compare the CPU models, especially if your games or other workloads are processor-sensitive.
  • Memory: Check capacity and type. The listed review configurations show that even within Nitro V laptops, DDR4 and DDR5 options exist.
  • Storage: Compare SSD capacity and account for any upgrade you would otherwise need to make.
  • Display: Compare size, resolution, refresh rate and panel type. A higher refresh rate is most useful when the system can deliver frame rates that take advantage of it.
  • Warranty and current local price: Check the terms and price for the specific seller and region on the day you buy.

When paying extra for the RTX 5070 makes sense

Consider the RTX 5070 if

  • The two laptops are closely matched in GPU power, CPU, memory, storage and display.
  • Reliable testing of the exact model shows a gain in the games or workloads you care about.
  • The price difference is acceptable for that demonstrated gain.

Choose the RTX 5060 if

  • The 5070 version costs more but you cannot confirm a meaningful advantage for your use.
  • The 5060 listing has a stronger overall configuration or better value after accounting for upgrades and warranty.
  • You are comparing unlike models and cannot treat the GPU tier as the only difference.

There is no defensible universal price ceiling for the 5070 based on the available listings: they are from different markets and are not a current, like-for-like pair. Check live prices in your region, then judge the difference against relevant testing rather than an assumed percentage uplift.

How to make the decision before buying

  1. Write down the complete SKU and country. Do this for both listings, including the suffix after the family model number.
  2. Verify the GPU power specification. Check Acer’s regional product information and the retailer’s exact configuration; investigate any discrepancy rather than assuming one figure applies to every Nitro V in the family.
  3. Match the rest of the configuration. Compare CPU, RAM capacity and type, SSD, display, warranty and seller.
  4. Find relevant same-model testing. Prefer game results at the resolution and settings you plan to use. Treat synthetic results as evidence about those tests only.
  5. Compare current local prices. Use prices for the two configurations you can actually buy, not an old promotion or an out-of-stock listing.
  6. Pay for the 5070 only if its verified benefit is worth the price gap to you. If the comparison remains uncertain, choose on the whole laptop’s price and configuration rather than the GPU name alone.

A dated PC Gamer report described a Nitro V 16 RTX 5070 promotion at $1,199.99 in October 2026 and characterized that review configuration as limited to 85 W. That was a promotion, not a current price; a review-unit power figure can also differ from Acer’s broader family table. PC Gamer’s October 2026 Nitro V 16 offer report
