Turn on the monitor

Connect the power cable securely to the monitor and a working electrical outlet. If the monitor uses an external power adapter, make sure its connections at both ends are firm.

Find the power button on the back, bottom edge, or side of the monitor. Button placement and controls vary by model, so check the manual for your exact model if you cannot find it.

Press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds. Look for a power light, a brief screen glow, or an on-screen message. The button’s behavior and the indicator light may differ by model.

To see a picture, connect the monitor to a powered computer or other video source with a compatible video cable. If the display remains blank, select the input that matches the connected cable.
Acer’s KA270HK user manual and B247YD quick start guide illustrate model-specific controls; use the manual for your own monitor rather than assuming every model has the same layout.

If the monitor shows no sign of power
Check the outlet, cable, and switch

Reseat the power cable at the monitor and outlet, and try a known-working outlet.

If there is an external adapter, check both connections. Some monitors also have a separate main power switch near the power inlet. Check the switch markings and your model’s manual.

Reset the monitor’s power
Acer’s new-monitor troubleshooting guidance recommends unplugging the monitor, holding its power button for 15–30 seconds, reconnecting it, and trying again. Acer’s general power troubleshooting page specifies holding the button for 30 seconds. Follow the guidance that applies to your situation and model.
Use a replacement adapter only if its rating matches
If the original cable or adapter is faulty, Acer says a compatible replacement may be tried. For an adapter, match the voltage and amperage printed on the original, and verify the connector and compatibility with the exact monitor model. Do not assume a generic adapter is suitable.

Contact Acer if it remains completely dark
If there is still no power light, screen glow, or message after these checks, contact Acer support for further troubleshooting or warranty service.

If the screen says “No Signal”
“No Signal” means the monitor is not receiving a valid video signal; it does not, by itself, mean the monitor is unpowered. Acer’s No Signal guidance recommends checking the source device, cable connections, and selected input.

Make sure the computer or other source device is on.

Check that the video cable is secure and connected to the intended ports on both devices.

Select the monitor input that matches the cable connection.
