KeenGamer’s post-launch guide lists one Prologue followed by 30 numbered missions, for 31 sorties in total. It describes a linear campaign with no branching mission routes. That is separate from tactical choices inside a sortie, and the available sources do not establish whether those choices change the ending.
ACE COMBAT 8 mission order
The following sequence and operation names are reported by KeenGamer’s all-missions guide, rather than a first-party mission database. Its list begins with a Prologue and continues through Mission 30, “Song of Wings.”

Does the campaign branch into different missions?
KeenGamer’s guide says the campaign has no branching mission paths. Treat that as the guide’s report, not as an official publisher flowchart. Mission 18’s operation name, “Branching Path,” is part of the listed sequence; it does not by itself indicate that the campaign splits.
Mission choices are not necessarily route choices
There is documented flexibility within a sortie. In its Mission 7 feature, PlayStation describes choosing which targets to attack and when to return for rearming. Producer Manabu Shimomoto said, “I believe this mission category best embodies the core pillar of the Ace Combat series: the player’s ability to eliminate enemies based on their own judgment.” That statement concerns target selection inside a mission, not alternate campaign routes.

Does ACE COMBAT 8 have multiple endings?
The available sources do not establish whether player choices alter the ending, and they do not document distinct ending scenes, an ending count, or conditions for reaching alternate endings. Bandai Namco’s launch announcement says decisions shape the FCU’s fate, but that promotional phrasing is not evidence of multiple endings. The supported conclusion is limited: the mission guide describes a linear route, while ending variation remains unverified.

According to Bandai Namco’s official game page, the campaign opens in July 2029, after Sotoa invades the Federation of Central Usea (FCU) and occupies its capital, Theve. The player is rescued by the Endurance and takes on the “Wings of Theve” identity—a legend fabricated to sustain morale.

Its game overview covers those mission types and loadout framing. This context explains the scope of the sorties, but does not change the reported mission order or establish a branching campaign.
