- Ground support: Favor equipment that fits the ground-target objectives listed for the sortie. Do not spend on a weapon just because it was useful in an earlier mission; inspect the next briefing before committing.

A Tom’s Guide review published October 3, 2026, reports that some mid-game missions restrict players to carrier-only aircraft. It does not identify every affected mission or list all eligible planes, so this is a planning warning rather than a complete rulebook. Avoid spending your entire campaign budget on a route that leaves you without an eligible aircraft when a carrier sortie appears. Keep a compatible option available and check the mission requirements before launching.

How to spend campaign MRP
Post-launch reviews report that campaign MRP can unlock jets, weapons, and upgrades, as well as aircraft or equipment for wingmen. Tom’s Guide describes the upgrade tree as large and purchases as expensive; Creative Bloq notes that investing in wingmen can improve the equipment they use when called to cover the player. These observations establish a trade-off, not an optimal sequence.
- Personal aircraft and equipment: Spending here expands or improves your own options for upcoming sorties.
- Wingmen: Spending on squad aircraft can support cover and other squad orders, but leaves less MRP for your own unlocks in the near term.
- Flexibility: Before a large purchase, consider whether it helps with upcoming mission types and whether it preserves access to a carrier-capable aircraft.

Keep campaign MRP separate from online progression
ACE COMBAT ONLINE has separate progression and save data, according to Bandai Namco’s multiplayer announcement. Do not assume campaign MRP, online progression, seasonal rewards, or pass levels share one economy. The same announcement says the Air Base lobby can hold up to 100 players; that is lobby capacity, not the number of players in an individual combat match.
