Bandai Namco’s aircraft roster groups aircraft into Fighters, Attackers, Multirole Aircraft, and Electronic Warfare Aircraft. It says the Online roster matches Campaign Mode, though Online has separate progression and aircraft acquisition (official game FAQ).

The official aircraft page describes the A-10C as a durable attacker designed for close air support, with heavy weaponry, low-speed agility, and air-to-ground weapons. Those details make it a role-based candidate for ground-attack missions; they do not prove it outperforms other aircraft in every mission or mode.

EA-6B Prowler: electronic-warfare example
The roster lists the EA-6B Prowler as an electronic-warfare aircraft. That identifies its category, not a universal tier or measured advantage over fighters, attackers, or multirole aircraft.
The roster page says “Stay Tuned for More Aircraft,” so the listed aircraft should not be assumed to be the final roster (official aircraft roster).

Why a universal S/A/B tier list would be misleading
The official sources provide aircraft categories, role descriptions, and mission-loadout guidance, but no comparative aircraft statistics or universal order. They do not establish a ranking by speed, damage, cost, win rate, or popularity. A definitive tier list would therefore need comparable gameplay tests rather than an inference from aircraft roles alone.

A useful player-made ranking should state its conditions and criteria. At minimum, identify the game mode, mission, difficulty, aircraft configuration, selected special weapon, and what counts as success. Compare aircraft against the same objective and conditions; a ground-attack result does not establish how the same aircraft ranks in a dogfight.

Campaign and Online: what carries over
The official FAQ says Online uses the same aircraft roster as Campaign Mode, but Online is a separate experience with its own progression and aircraft acquisition. A recommendation about aircraft availability or progression in one mode should not automatically be treated as advice about how quickly an aircraft can be obtained in the other.

The release announcement identifies the F-14A as a preorder unlock. That does not establish that every later purchase or platform offer includes it, so check the current listing and its terms for your region before buying.
Controls and choosing your setup
Tom’s Guide’s launch-period reviewer wrote, “Though you can pair the game with a joystick and throttle, the game is made for a controller.” That is the reviewer’s subjective assessment, not a compatibility guarantee or a controlled comparison of input devices (Tom’s Guide review).
