The same announcement says the Ace Combat series has shipped more than 22 million copies worldwide. That is a separate, series-wide shipped figure; it should not be read as the number of copies sold to players. Bandai Namco Entertainment’s announcement is the source for both claims.

How fast did Ace Combat 8 sell one million copies?
Bandai Namco calls it the fastest Ace Combat title to reach one million, but its announcement does not state an exact number of days. The October 2 launch date and October 9 announcement date establish the relevant dates, not a precise sales interval: the announcement gives no cutoff time or detailed sales timeline. It also does not show comparable day-by-day figures for earlier games.

What is Ace Combat 8?
ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE is a dramatic flight-shooting game published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Bandai Namco Studios’ product page credits Bandai Namco Aces as developer and Bandai Namco Studios as co-developer. The official product page lists its platforms and credits.
The game is set in Strangereal, the franchise’s fictional world. The publisher’s launch material places the story’s conflict in July 2029: the Federation of Central Usea is invaded, and the player takes on the symbolic identity “Wings of Theve.” This is fictional story context, not real-world military history. How this milestone fits the series
The official ACES WEB franchise page says the first Ace Combat game was released in 1995 and that ACE COMBAT 7 had sold more than six million copies. That figure is for the previous game, not ACE COMBAT 8; the page does not state a publication date in the reviewed content. Its separate franchise total of more than 20 million is older and undated, so Bandai Namco’s dated October 9, 2026 statement of more than 22 million copies shipped worldwide is the more current series-wide figure. Platforms and editions
The official product listing names PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Its Deluxe Edition is described as including the game, three days of early access, a Premium Ace Pass Plus voucher, a customizable cosmetic set, a 200-plus-page ACES at WAR: A HISTORY 2029 book, and two soundtrack LPs with a slipcover and slipmat. The publisher’s FAQ says the Deluxe Edition remained available after launch in the version reviewed; regional availability and contents can vary or change. The same FAQ describes a free seasonal ACE PASS and separately purchasable premium tiers, aircraft, cosmetic rewards, and aircraft upgrade items. Bandai Namco says the game has no paid loot boxes or other randomized paid rewards. These in-game offers are distinct from physical retail products, and seasonal details may change.

Announced Ace Combat 8 model kits
Bandai Namco’s October 2 announcement named two Hasegawa aircraft kits tied to the game: the F/A-18E Super Hornet “Joker Flight” and the Su-33 Flanker D “Shadows.” The announcement gave a planned release around November 18, 2026 for the F/A-18E kit. That date is a planned timing, not confirmation of final release or current store availability. Bandai Namco’s October 2 announcement names the kits and gives the planned timing.
