The company’s digital marketing manager rejected online accusations in an October 14, 2026 post, calling them “a big hell nah.” A World of Warcraft social-media manager followed by saying the team does not use AI for any social content. Those are Blizzard’s statements, as reported by GamesRadar; no independent technical audit of the videos has been reported.
What Blizzard denied
The dispute concerns social-media advertisements and promotional videos for World of Warcraft: Forever. Commenters questioned whether generative AI had been used to produce some or all of the videos. The accusation was not about the game’s programming, art pipeline, or every aspect of Blizzard’s development work. It focused on the finished marketing and social assets.

Blizzard’s digital marketing manager answered publicly on X on October 14, 2026. “Not seeing much discourse here on X, but there have been comments on whether or not we use AI in these videos. That’s a big hell nah,” the manager wrote. The post described a human-led production process rather than an automated generation workflow.

The marketing manager said real team members handle several stages of production:
#1 Best Overall
- Writing the scripts.
- Obtaining footage for the videos.
- Editing that footage.
- Working directly with voice actors in recording booths.
The manager added that they had been in recording booths with the voice-over actors every week. That account is intended to explain how the videos were produced, but it remains a statement from a Blizzard employee rather than an independently verified production record.
A second employee broadened the claim
Blizzard’s World of Warcraft social-media manager added a separate response: “To add, we don’t use AI on ANY social content we make. Big hell nah indeed.” This is broader than the original question about the Forever videos. It presents the employee’s position as applying to the company’s social content generally.

The two posts therefore make two related claims: the specific Forever videos were not made with generative AI, and Blizzard’s social-media output does not use AI at all. Both claims are attributed to Blizzard staff. Neither post supplies production files, model-use logs, or a third-party examination.

GamesRadar reported the accusations and Blizzard’s replies on October 15, 2026, quoting the October 14 posts. The reporting establishes that online commenters raised the question and that two Blizzard employees issued categorical denials. It also records the human production steps the marketing manager says the team follows.

It does not establish that an independent analyst inspected the video frames, audio tracks, metadata, scripts, or editing timelines. There is no reported forensic analysis, controlled AI-detection test, or outside audit confirming the denial. AI-detection tools can also produce false positives and false negatives, so a credible investigation would need to identify the exact disputed element and document how it was examined.

How to read the “hell nah” response
The phrase is an emphatic denial, not a technical finding. Blizzard is asking viewers to accept that identifiable staff members created the work through conventional production activities. The strongest evidence currently presented by the company is the marketing manager’s direct description of participating in voice-recording sessions and coordinating scripts, footage, and edits.

For viewers trying to assess the videos, the useful questions are narrower than “Does Blizzard use AI?” Ask which element is allegedly synthetic: the script, a visual shot, an edit, a voice, or a sound effect. Then ask who has direct knowledge of that element’s creation and whether any independent review has examined the original asset rather than a repost or compressed clip.

What could change the picture
Future reporting could add production documents, statements from named contractors or voice actors, original files with verifiable metadata, or an independent technical review. Those materials would need to address the particular video and component under dispute. Evidence about one visual, for example, would not automatically prove or disprove how the script or voice track was made.
For now, the precise answer to “Did Blizzard use AI in the World of Warcraft: Forever videos?” is: Blizzard says no, and its employees describe a human-made workflow, but the available report does not independently prove the claim either way.
