Accenture plans to invest an additional $5 billion in acquisitions in fiscal 2027, after reporting fiscal 2026 revenue of $74.18 billion. The acquisition figure is a management plan, not money already spent or a guaranteed total: CEO Julie Sweet said it depends on opportunities and deal timing.
What Accenture announced
On its October 1, 2026 earnings call, Chair and CEO Julie Sweet said Accenture expects to make an additional $5 billion in acquisition investments during fiscal 2027. She said the company has a “good line-of-sight to good acquisitions,” but added that the plan depends on whether opportunities arrive as expected and on timing. The full amount is therefore not assured.

The announcement describes a planned investment, not a list of signed deals. Accenture has not disclosed a complete set of fiscal 2027 targets, deal-by-deal budgets, or how the additional amount would be split across sectors.
How revenue grew in fiscal 2026
Accenture’s fiscal year ended August 31, 2026. The company reported revenue of $74.18 billion, up 6% in U.S. dollars and 5% in local currency. Those growth rates use different comparison bases, so the basis matters when describing the result. Fourth-quarter revenue was $18.68 billion, up 6% in U.S. dollars and 7% in local currency. Accenture said full-year revenue increased by $4.5 billion year over year. Accenture’s fiscal 2026 results provide the company’s reported figures.

Where Accenture says it may look for acquisitions
Sweet described acquisitions as one way to pursue long-term growth: adding capabilities in high-growth areas and expanding into new areas. Her examples included:
- Data and AI: an area where Accenture says acquisitions can help it grow.
- Data centers: an example of expansion into a new area.
- Data and operational-technology (OT) security: another cited area of expansion.
These are strategic examples, not a finalized shopping list or a disclosed sector-by-sector allocation of the planned $5 billion.

What the plan means alongside the outlook
Accenture’s fiscal 2027 revenue growth outlook was 3% to 6% in local currency as of October 1, 2026. That is a forward-looking range, not a reported result. CFO Angie Park said the outlook allowed for stable to slightly improving discretionary spending at the upper end and deterioration at the lower end. Her comments describe management’s assumptions behind the range, rather than an independent forecast. The company’s earnings materials contain the outlook.

Cash generation and shareholder returns
Accenture reported $11.62 billion in free cash flow for fiscal 2026 and said it returned $11.5 billion to shareholders over the year. Sweet said the company uses free cash flow both to invest in the business and to return cash to shareholders. The company has not said that the planned acquisition amount will be funded exclusively from fiscal 2026 free cash flow. Accenture’s fiscal 2026 results release reports the cash-flow and shareholder-return figures.
