Buy the Sony DualSense if you want the safest, officially documented PS5 experience. Consider the Abxylute P5 if its advertised Hall Effect sticks, two programmable rear buttons, and support for PS5, PC, Android, and iOS matter more to you than having Sony’s own controller. Abxylute lists adaptive triggers and a “DualSense-like” haptic feel, but those are manufacturer claims rather than independently verified parity tests.
The comparison is therefore about documented features, compatibility claims, connectivity, price evidence, and your priorities—not a measured winner for latency, durability, ergonomics, stick-drift resistance, trigger fidelity, or battery life.

Abxylute P5 vs. DualSense at a glance
The two controllers target different buying priorities. DualSense is Sony’s official PS5 controller and the reference design for games that use PlayStation’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The Abxylute P5 is a multi-platform alternative whose listed extras include Hall Effect joysticks, rear buttons, remapping, macros, and a turbo control.

Which controller should you buy?
Choose DualSense for the lowest compatibility uncertainty
DualSense is the better default for a PS5 owner who wants Sony’s official controller, predictable integration with PlayStation games, and the documented DualSense feature set. Sony describes haptic feedback and adaptive triggers as game-dependent capabilities, so even the official controller cannot force every title to use them. When a game does support them, however, DualSense is the controller designed and documented for that experience.

Sony’s PS5 FAQ, published November 9, 2020, states: “Players will need to use a DualSense wireless controller to play PS5 games.” That sentence should be read in its historical context: it is an early PS5 FAQ, not an independent test of the newer P5. It does explain why DualSense remains the conservative purchase when official support is your top concern. Read the dated PlayStation FAQ
Consider the P5 when its controls solve a real problem
The P5 is worth considering if you specifically want two programmable rear buttons, Hall Effect sticks, and one controller advertised for several device classes. Rear buttons can let you assign frequently used inputs without moving your thumbs from the main sticks; whether that improves your play depends on the games you play and how you configure them. The listing also advertises remapping, macros, and a turbo button.
Those are meaningful reasons to choose the P5, but they should not be confused with proof that it feels or performs exactly like DualSense. Abxylute describes its voice-coil motors as providing a “DualSense-like” haptic feel and says adaptive triggers work in supported PS5 games. No independent side-by-side measurements establish equivalent haptic intensity, trigger resistance, latency, software behavior, or long-term reliability.
Does the Abxylute P5 have DualSense features?
Adaptive triggers
Abxylute’s listing advertises adaptive triggers in supported PS5 games. “Supported” is important: the claim does not mean every PS5 title will use the effect, nor does it establish that trigger resistance matches Sony’s implementation. Confirm the behavior with the specific games you care about before treating it as a replacement for DualSense’s trigger experience.
Haptic feedback
The P5 listing advertises voice-coil motors for a “DualSense-like” haptic feel. That wording is a similarity claim, not a measured equivalence claim. Sony’s own controller page describes haptic feedback as a feature whose availability depends on game support. In practice, both the controller and the game need to support the relevant behavior for you to feel it.
Microphone and speaker
Abxylute lists a built-in microphone and speaker, but explicitly says they are not currently supported on PC. Sony’s DualSense feature documentation includes a built-in microphone and speaker, as well as a headset jack. If you plan to use controller audio on a computer, the P5’s stated PC limitation is a decisive consideration.
Touchpad and motion controls
The November 2020 PlayStation FAQ describes DualSense with a touchpad and motion sensing. The Abxylute listing cited for this comparison does not establish equivalent touchpad or motion-sensing functionality. Do not assume that a P5 feature list containing adaptive triggers and haptics means every DualSense input is reproduced.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsHall Effect sticks and rear buttons: what the P5 adds
Hall Effect joysticks
Hall Effect joysticks are one of the P5’s headline specifications. They sense stick movement magnetically rather than relying on the exact mechanism used by every conventional analog stick. The listing establishes that Abxylute uses this label; it does not provide a stick-drift rate, lifespan test, replacement policy, or independent durability result. Treat the specification as a design feature, not a guarantee that drift is impossible.
Two programmable rear buttons
The P5 includes two rear buttons that Abxylute says support remapping and macros. They may appeal to players who want jump, reload, sprint, or another frequently used command under a middle or ring finger while keeping both thumbs on the sticks. The practical benefit depends on the controller’s configuration process and the rules of the game. A macro function can also be inappropriate for games that prohibit automated input, so check each game’s terms before using it online.
Turbo control
A turbo button is listed among the P5’s controls. Turbo can automate repeated button presses, which may be useful in some offline contexts but can conflict with competitive-game rules or a title’s terms of service. The listing does not specify which inputs, games, or modes support turbo, so verify those details with the seller or manual.

- Haptic feedback - Feel physically responsive feedback to your in-game actions with dual actuators which replace traditional rumble motors. In your hands, these dynamic vibrations can simulate the feeling of everything from environments to the recoil of different weapons. .Operating temperature : 41 °F to 95 °F (5 °C to 35 °C)
- Adaptive triggers - Experience varying levels of force and tension as you interact with your in-game gear and environments. From pulling back an increasingly tight bowstring to hitting the brakes on a speeding car, feel physically connected to your on-screen actions.
- Built-in microphone and headset jack - Chat with friends online using the built-in microphone or by connecting a headset to the 3.5mm jack. Easily switch voice capture on and off at a moment’s notice with the dedicated mute button. Internet and account for PlayStation Network required.
- DualSense Controller PS5 and PC compatible. Not compatible with PS4.
- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
PS5 compatibility: what is established and what is not
Abxylute advertises wireless PS5 compatibility for the P5. That is the relevant product-specific claim, but it remains a vendor statement in the evidence available for this comparison. There is no independent confirmation here of every PS5 menu, game, accessory, or firmware scenario.
DualSense has the advantage of being Sony’s official PS5 controller. Sony’s documentation covers its feature set and supported connections, while the older FAQ provides historical guidance about PS5 controller requirements. The age of that FAQ matters: it was published in 2020 and should not be presented as a current compatibility test of a product introduced later.
Questions to verify before buying the P5
- Does the exact P5 revision currently sold in your market connect directly to your PS5 without an additional adapter?
- Do the PS5 games you play recognize its adaptive triggers and haptic effects?
- Are rear-button remapping, macros, and turbo available in the mode you intend to use?
- Does the retailer provide firmware updates, support, and returns for your region?
- Is the listed shipping estimate still valid at checkout?
These checks matter because compatibility, firmware, stock, and supported game behavior can change after a product listing is published.
PC, Mac, Android, iOS, and Remote Play use
Abxylute P5
Abxylute lists PS5, PC, Android, and iOS compatibility and says the P5 can connect over Bluetooth or USB-C wired mode. The same listing says its built-in microphone and speaker are not currently supported on PC. If you need controller audio on a computer, plan on using a separate headset or another audio path.
DualSense
Sony documents DualSense connections to Windows PC, Mac, Android, and iOS through USB-C or Bluetooth. Sony also notes that some PC games support advanced haptics and adaptive triggers. The exact experience depends on the game, connection method, software, and whether the developer implemented those features.
PlayStation Remote Play can work with a compatible controller, but Sony’s documentation makes this conditional on the app, console, software, and device requirements. Remote Play compatibility should therefore be checked for your particular phone, tablet, computer, and PS5 software version rather than assumed from the controller’s Bluetooth capability alone.
Choosing a one-controller setup
The P5’s advertised four-platform coverage may simplify ownership if you move between PS5, a phone, and a computer. DualSense offers a similarly broad set of documented device connections, with the added benefit of Sony’s official PS5 positioning. Compare the exact devices you own, not just the headline platform list: a controller can connect physically while still lacking a feature, driver path, or audio function on a particular device.
Battery, weight, and day-to-day practicality
P5 specifications
Abxylute lists a 1,500mAh rechargeable battery, approximately eight hours of playtime depending on usage and enabled features, and a 285g weight. “Approximately” and “depending on” are material qualifications. Features such as wireless operation, haptics, adaptive triggers, speaker use, and brightness or indicator behavior can affect runtime, and no independent test result is available here.
DualSense battery evidence
The current Sony product page cited for this article does not give a runtime number. The November 2020 PlayStation FAQ said a full charge was expected to last similarly to a DualShock 4 under most conditions. That is a historical expectation, not a current laboratory measurement and not a directly comparable figure against the P5’s listed eight hours.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Weight and comfort decisions
The P5’s listed 285g gives you one concrete specification. No comparable DualSense weight or independent ergonomic test is established in the cited material, so a claim that one is lighter, more comfortable, or better for long sessions would go beyond the evidence. If hand fatigue is a major concern, buy from a retailer with a clear return policy and evaluate the grip, button reach, and rear-button placement yourself.

Price and availability
When checked, Abxylute’s product page showed an early-bird price of $75.99 USD and a listed price of $89.99 USD. The page said the early-bird offer ended October 15 and that shipping was expected at the end of October. Those details are volatile: a promotional window can expire, shipping can move, and local taxes, currency conversion, stock, and delivery coverage can change the final cost.
No current DualSense price was captured from Sony’s cited page. Do not treat the P5’s displayed promotion as a guaranteed saving until you compare the checkout total for your region with a current DualSense listing. Price alone is also a poor substitute for compatibility certainty if you primarily play PS5 exclusives that use advanced controller features.
How to choose in five steps
- List your primary device. If PS5 is the only platform, start with the official DualSense baseline. If you regularly switch among PS5, PC, Android, and iOS, give the P5’s advertised multi-device support more weight.
- Identify the controls you will actually use. Choose the P5 for a clear need for rear buttons, remapping, macros, turbo, or Hall Effect sticks. Do not pay for controls you will leave disabled.
- Prioritize feature fidelity. Choose DualSense when game-dependent haptics, adaptive triggers, touchpad, motion sensing, built-in audio, and official PS5 integration are central to your decision. Choose the P5 only after accepting that its similar features are listed claims rather than independently verified equivalents.
- Check computer audio needs. The P5 listing says its built-in microphone and speaker are not supported on PC. If PC voice chat through the controller matters, DualSense’s documented microphone, speaker, and headset jack are the safer fit.
- Verify the live listing. Confirm price, stock, shipping, firmware information, regional support, and return terms immediately before ordering. These details can change independently of the controller’s advertised specifications.
Connection checklist
Using the P5 with PS5
- Confirm that the current product listing for your region explicitly includes PS5 support.
- Decide whether you will use the advertised Bluetooth connection or USB-C wired mode.
- Complete the console’s controller-pairing process using the instructions supplied with the controller.
- Test a game that uses the features you care about, including triggers, haptics, rear-button assignments, and audio.
- If a feature does not work, check the game’s controller settings, the P5 firmware instructions, and the seller’s support channel before assuming the hardware is defective.
Using either controller on another device
- Check that your Windows PC, Mac, Android device, or iPhone/iPad meets the platform and game requirements listed by Sony or Abxylute.
- Choose Bluetooth for a wireless setup or USB-C when the device and game support wired input.
- Pair the controller through the operating system’s Bluetooth settings, or connect the cable and wait for the device to recognize it.
- Open the game or Remote Play app and verify button mapping before starting a session.
- For the P5 on PC, use a separate microphone or headset because the listing says the built-in microphone and speaker are not currently supported there.
These are platform-level checks rather than a promise that every game supports every controller feature. Game developers and software updates determine which advanced functions are exposed.

Common buying mistakes
Assuming “DualSense-like” means identical
Abxylute’s wording describes a similar haptic feel, not certification or measured parity. Avoid relying on that phrase if the exact trigger resistance or haptic behavior of a particular PS5 game is essential.
Treating Hall Effect as a lifetime guarantee
Hall Effect is a component description. It is not evidence of a specific drift rate, service life, or warranty outcome. Look for a current warranty and return policy if durability is your deciding factor.
Using a 2020 FAQ as a current third-party test
The PlayStation FAQ’s November 9, 2020 publication date should remain visible whenever you quote its controller guidance. It predates the P5 listing and cannot independently confirm or reject the P5’s current PS5 behavior.
Comparing unlike battery numbers
The P5’s approximately eight-hour figure is a manufacturer estimate qualified by usage and enabled features. The DualSense source provides no current runtime number; the older FAQ gives only a general expectation relative to DualShock 4. Neither supports a controlled battery-life ranking.

Buying on a promotional price alone
The P5’s $75.99 early-bird figure was a time-sensitive display, not a permanent price. Check the final regional checkout amount, shipping, taxes, and return terms before comparing it with DualSense.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Abxylute P5 replace a DualSense on PS5?
It may, if the current P5 listing’s PS5 compatibility applies to your revision and games, but that compatibility has not been independently verified in the evidence available here. Buy DualSense when official support and predictable feature behavior are more important than the P5’s extra controls.
Which controller supports all DualSense features?
DualSense is the only controller in this comparison documented by Sony as its own PS5 controller with haptics, adaptive triggers, touchpad, motion sensing, microphone, speaker, and headset support. The P5 listing confirms some similar functions but does not establish that it reproduces every DualSense feature.

- PlayStation 5 Compatible: Works with all PlayStation 5 games and accessories.
Is the P5’s eight-hour battery life better than DualSense?
No defensible comparison can be made from the cited sources. Abxylute lists approximately eight hours depending on usage and enabled features; Sony’s current page does not provide a runtime figure, and the older FAQ gives a general DualShock 4 comparison rather than a measured number.
Does the P5 work with PC voice chat through its built-in microphone?
Abxylute’s listing says the built-in microphone and speaker are not currently supported on PC. Plan to use a separate headset or microphone for computer voice chat.
Should I buy the P5 for Hall Effect sticks alone?
Only if you value the advertised stick design and accept that the listing does not provide an independent drift rate, lifespan test, or guarantee against failure. Hall Effect is a reason to investigate the P5, not proof of superior long-term reliability.
Final recommendation
For most PS5 buyers, DualSense is the safer purchase because it is Sony’s official controller and the documented baseline for PlayStation’s haptic and adaptive-trigger experience. The Abxylute P5 is the more specialized choice: its advertised rear buttons, Hall Effect sticks, macros, turbo, and multi-device support may be more useful than Sony’s standard layout for the right player.
Choose the P5 only after checking current PS5 compatibility, the games you play, PC audio limitations, regional availability, and the live price. The available evidence supports that feature-and-use-case decision; it does not support claims that the P5 matches DualSense in latency, durability, ergonomics, haptics, trigger fidelity, or measured battery life.
