What the new trailer shows
The trailer focuses on Absolum’s magic-and-metal combat and, most notably, the ability to reposition touch inputs across the screen. That matters in a fast-paced beat ’em up: players can move attack, dodge, jump and ability buttons to suit a left- or right-handed grip, a particular phone size or the way they hold the device during a run.

Playdigious’ support information schedules the mobile version for November 5, 2026. Android users can pre-register, while the iPhone and iPad version is available for pre-order. Storefront dates and metadata can change, so “scheduled” is the appropriate status until release.

How the mobile controls work
Custom touch layout
The mobile build has an exclusive interface intended for touch screens. Its complete touch-control scheme lets you arrange the on-screen inputs instead of relying on one fixed configuration. Players who use a thumb-heavy grip can bring essential buttons closer to the lower corners; those who keep both hands higher on a large phone can spread controls farther apart to reduce accidental taps.

Physical controllers
Both mobile listings confirm controller compatibility. A compatible mobile game controller can provide physical sticks, triggers and face buttons for players who prefer console-style input, while touch controls remain a supported option rather than a requirement. Before buying an Android controller for Absolum, verify the phone’s connector or wireless standard, operating-system support and whether the device leaves enough clearance for its case.

Save systems, achievements and progression
Android and PC
Google Play’s listing says, “Buy once, play anywhere: Enjoy cross-progression on mobile and PC with the same Google Play Games account.” This is the clearest platform-specific progression promise: an Android player using the same Google Play Games account can continue progress between the mobile version and PC. Google Play Games achievements and cloud save are also listed.

Apple devices
The iOS listing advertises Game Center achievements and cloud save between iOS devices. The published mobile information does not make the same PC cross-progression statement for Apple devices, so do not assume that an iPhone save will transfer to PC unless a later official update confirms it.
What kind of game Absolum is
Absolum is a run-based fantasy adventure that combines side-scrolling beat ’em up combat with modern roguelite progression. It takes place in Talamh, where four rebels—Galandra, Karl, Brome and Cider—stand against Sun King Azra and the Crimson Order.

Each run can branch onto different paths, with encounters and bosses changing between attempts. Players collect items, complete quests and unlock permanent upgrades, giving successful runs consequences beyond a single session. The structure is designed for repeated play rather than one fixed sequence of levels.
Dotemu describes Absolum as its first original intellectual property and credits Guard Crush Games and Supamonks as development partners. Playdigious is handling the mobile edition’s storefront-facing release. The game originally launched on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5; Dotemu’s September 10, 2025 announcement listed a $24.99 launch price for those versions and described the adventure as playable by one or two people.

Choosing touch controls or a controller
- Choose touch controls if portability, immediate play and a layout tailored to your grip matter most.
- Choose a controller if you want tactile buttons for repeated attacks, dodges and abilities, or already use a supported mobile gamepad.
- Choose Android when PC cross-progression through Google Play Games is important to your setup.
- Choose iOS when your priority is Apple-device continuity through cloud saves and Game Center.
The practical decision is therefore less about missing content and more about input preference and account ecosystem. Both mobile editions advertise the same central touch-interface concept, while their save and achievement services follow their respective platform accounts.
