De AAWireless TWO+ maakt bekabelde Apple CarPlay en/of Android Auto draadloos, maar werkt alleen als die functie al via een kabel in je auto of aftermarket-headunit beschikbaar is. De fabrikant zegt dat het apparaat niet compatibel is met auto’s die al native draadloze CarPlay of Android Auto hebben. Daarmee is de eerste stap vóór aankoop eenvoudig: sluit je telefoon rechtstreeks met een kabel aan en controleer of het relevante systeem start.
Wat is de AAWireless TWO+?
De TWO+ is een kleine USB-C-adapter die volgens AAWireless een draadloze verbinding mogelijk maakt voor Apple CarPlay en Android Auto in auto’s en aftermarket-systemen met de bijbehorende bekabelde functie. De adapter heeft Bluetooth en wifi en meet volgens de productspecificaties 5,5 × 3,5 × 1,5 cm; het opgegeven gewicht is 18 gram. AAWireless TWO+ productspecificaties.

Een multifunctionele knop is bedoeld voor koppelen en wisselen tussen telefoons. AAWireless zegt dat je een onbeperkt aantal telefoons kunt verbinden. De bijbehorende app biedt volgens de fabrikant updates, hulp bij probleemoplossing en instellingen. Dit zijn functies zoals AAWireless ze beschrijft, geen onafhankelijke testresultaten.
Werkt de TWO+ met jouw auto?
Controleer eerst de bekabelde verbinding
- Sluit je telefoon rechtstreeks aan op de USB-poort van de auto met een geschikte datakabel.
- Controleer of Apple CarPlay of Android Auto start.
- Gebruik alleen de adapter voor een systeem dat op deze manier al werkt. Een USB-poort op zichzelf is geen bewijs van compatibiliteit.

De productpagina vermeldt Android 11 of nieuwer voor draadloze Android Auto en iPhone X of nieuwer voor draadloze CarPlay. AAWireless zegt dat de adapter niet werkt met auto’s die al ingebouwde draadloze CarPlay of Android Auto hebben. Controleer de voorwaarden voor jouw specifieke telefoon en voertuig voordat je bestelt: de productspecificaties geven geen garantie voor elk afzonderlijk model.
Een adapter voor iPhone én Android in een gedeelde auto
Als de auto zowel bekabelde CarPlay als bekabelde Android Auto ondersteunt, positioneert AAWireless de TWO+ als één adapter voor beide platforms. De knop is bedoeld om tussen gekoppelde telefoons te wisselen, wat relevant is als bestuurders verschillende telefoons of besturingssystemen gebruiken. De fabrikant beschrijft de AAWireless TWO daarentegen als een model voor alleen Android Auto. AAWireless-ondersteuning over compatibiliteit en modellen.

Die platformkeuze is vooral van belang als je uitsluitend Android gebruikt: de TWO+ voegt dan CarPlay-ondersteuning toe die je mogelijk niet nodig hebt. Gebruik de compatibiliteitscheck van de fabrikant om ook te bevestigen dat jouw auto bij het gekozen model past.
Installeren en verbinden
- Steek de adapter in de USB-poort die je normaal voor CarPlay of Android Auto gebruikt. De doos bevat volgens de productpagina een USB-C-naar-USB-A-kabel.
- Koppel de telefoon tijdens het eerste gebruik volgens de aanwijzingen op het scherm en in de handleiding.
- Bij volgende ritten maakt de telefoon volgens AAWireless automatisch verbinding wanneer de auto en head-unit starten.
AAWireless legt uit dat Bluetooth eerst wordt gebruikt om de wifi-verbindingsgegevens over te dragen; de verbinding daarna loopt via wifi. Dat is de beschrijving van de fabrikant. Er zijn hier geen onafhankelijke gegevens over opstarttijd, betrouwbaarheid, audiolatentie of gesprekskwaliteit, dus die prestaties zijn niet vast te stellen op basis van de productinformatie.

Wat zit erbij en welke aankoopvoorwaarden vermeldt de fabrikant?
De officiële productpagina noemt drie onderdelen: de TWO+-adapter, een USB-C-naar-USB-A-kabel en een gebruikershandleiding. De adapter zelf heeft een USB-C-aansluiting. Een extra kabel is dus niet nodig als de meegeleverde kabel geschikt en intact is.
AAWireless vermeldt op de productpagina twee jaar garantie en een retourtermijn van 30 dagen. Volgens de FAQ betaalt de klant de retourverzendkosten; verdere voorwaarden staan in de voorwaarden van de aanbieder. Wat betekent ‘van Nederlandse bodem’?
AAWireless vermeldt een contactadres in Groningen en zegt dat het product in de EU wordt gemaakt. Dat ondersteunt de omschrijving van AAWireless als een merk met een Nederlandse basis en van de TWO+ als EU-geproduceerd. Het bewijst niet dat het apparaat volledig in Nederland wordt vervaardigd.

De officiële informatie beschrijft de functies en voorwaarden, maar bevat geen onafhankelijke vergelijking met andere adapters of praktijktest per automodel. Bevestig daarom zowel de compatibiliteit als de actuele beschikbaarheid op de officiële productpagina voordat je koopt.
