If a free Steam game is missing from your Library, first make sure you’re signed into the account that added it. Then clear any Library filters and check View > Hidden Games. Free-to-play games don’t generally require a purchase, subscription, or credit card; if those checks don’t help, verify the game’s Store page and your account records.
1. Make sure you’re using the right Steam account
Steam games are associated with the account that registered them. If you have more than one account, check that you’re signed into the one where you claimed the game. Steam Support says that previously activated games missing from a Library are most likely a sign that you’re signed into the wrong account. 2. Check Library filters
A Library filter can hide a game without affecting your account’s access to it. In the Steam client, check that the Library is set to show all games, rather than only a selected category or subset. If the title appears after clearing the filter, it was a visibility issue, not a missing entitlement. Steam Support: Games Are Missing from my Library
3. Look in Hidden Games
Steam keeps hidden titles in a separate list. In the client, select View > Hidden Games. If the missing game is there, right-click it and choose Manage > Remove from Hidden to return it to the regular Library view. Steam Support: Games Are Missing from my Library

4. Check whether the game is actually free to play
Steam says free-to-play games are free to download and play without a subscription or credit card. Steam’s Limited User status can restrict some community features for accounts without a purchased game or funded Wallet, but that is not a general requirement to pay for every free-to-play title. An individual game may have its own restrictions, so check that game’s Steam Store page for current availability and any title-specific requirements. Steam Support: Free to play games on Steam
5. If you paid for it, check the transaction
These purchase checks are relevant only if you bought the game; they are not steps you need to take just because a free game is missing. Look for the purchase receipt and review your Steam purchase history to see whether the transaction is pending.
