Yes: an Android phone can run the Windows PC version of Skyrim Special Edition locally through GameNative, without streaming the game from a cloud PC. But the strongest cited Skyrim tests do not show a sustained 60 frames per second (FPS): GameStar reported a stable 30 FPS in its Galaxy S24 Ultra test, while NerdZap measured the Pixel 10 Pro in the low 20s to low 30s at 720p. Local play is real; a general claim that Skyrim runs at 60 FPS on a phone is not established.
What “not streaming” means here
GameNative runs supported PC games on the Android device itself. Its official site describes signing in to Steam, Epic or GOG to play games you own, with cloud saves; the GameNative repository likewise says games run directly on Android with “no streaming required.” In this setup, the phone is doing the game’s work rather than receiving a live video feed from a remote gaming PC.

That does not mean Android is natively running a Windows game. GameStar describes a compatibility-layer approach built around Proton/Wine-style tools and translation from x86 code to ARM. The layers make local execution possible, but also add variables: a game may fail to launch, graphics or audio may misbehave, and performance can change with the phone’s hardware and configuration. GameNative’s maintainers warn that not every title works and some need tweaking.
What the cited Skyrim tests actually achieved

These are device- and setup-specific results, not a guarantee for every phone. GameStar also reported occasional Skyrim audio stutters under heavy RAM or GPU load, and noted that larger games may not start in energy-saving mode. The evidence supports playable local execution in some configurations, not a stable 60 FPS Skyrim result.

Why a 60 FPS number can be misleading
Frame rate depends on the particular game and setup. In GameStar’s tests, many passages of Alien: Isolation reached 60 FPS, and smaller games including BattleBlock Theater, The Binding of Isaac and Ultimate Chicken Horse ran at a stable 60 FPS. NerdZap measured Half-Life 2 at a locked 60 FPS on the Pixel 10 Pro. Those results show that some PC games can run at that rate on tested Android hardware; they do not establish the same performance for the heavier, more configuration-sensitive Skyrim Special Edition.
Likewise, platform-level specifications are not Skyrim benchmarks. Qualcomm’s 17 March 2025 Snapdragon G-series announcement claimed that the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 offers 30% faster CPU performance and 28% faster advanced graphics than its predecessor. Qualcomm described the G2 Gen 2 as targeting up to 144 FPS on dedicated handheld gaming devices. Neither claim is a measured Skyrim frame rate on a particular phone.

Trying it on your Android device
GameNative is intended for games in accounts you own; availability in a PC library does not guarantee that a specific game will run correctly on a particular phone. The official GameNative site outlines the basic flow:

- Sign in to the Steam, Epic or GOG account that owns the PC game.
- Choose the game and try its available configuration. Some titles work with known configurations; others may require adjustments.
The repository lists controller and touch input, a custom control editor, an on-screen HUD, cloud saves and automatic known configurations. Treat those as available features, not proof that every game or controller configuration will work without adjustment. If a title has missing audio, launch failures or other issues, the Pixel 10 Pro test illustrates that a compatibility or setup fix may be needed; its specific x86/64 Proton and DXSETUP fix is evidence for that test, not a universal Skyrim recipe.

Controls and the phone-versus-handheld trade-off
Using a phone
GameStar’s tester paired a PS5 DualSense controller over Bluetooth and found that it worked immediately, making 3D games substantially more comfortable than touch controls. A phone remains the compact option, but the cited reports do not establish a universal minimum chipset or a reliable battery-life estimate for Skyrim. The tested Galaxy S24 Ultra and Pixel 10 Pro results are useful examples, not minimum hardware requirements.
Considering a dedicated Android handheld
A dedicated handheld can add built-in controls and active cooling, but its advertised capability should not be mistaken for a Skyrim test. AYANEO’s 2024 Pocket S release described a Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 device with active and passive cooling, up to 15 W continuous output, a six-inch 1440p display, and a starting price of $399 for the 1080p edition. AYANEO claimed native 1440p 60 FPS for supported workloads. That is a manufacturer capability claim, not evidence that the Pocket S—or a phone with a similar platform—runs Skyrim at 60 FPS. The cited material does not provide a comparable Skyrim benchmark, battery-life figure or price comparison between the phone tests and the handheld.
