Amazon lists a kid-friendly cover and one year of Amazon Kids+ with the 11th-generation bundle; the 12th-generation Paperwhite Kids, released in 2024, includes a cover and six months of Kids+. The official information available here does not establish live prices or savings, so verify the listing and compare equivalent bundles before calling it a cheaper deal.
What comes in the previous-generation bundle?
Amazon’s device guide identifies the Kindle Paperwhite Kids (11th Generation) as a 2021 release. Its listed bundle includes a kid-friendly cover and one year of Amazon Kids+. That makes it more than a comparison between two e-readers: the included subscription period differs between generations, and should be considered when assessing value.

Amazon’s device guide supplies the release years, specifications and bundle terms. Its absence of a waterproofing listing for the 2021 model should not be treated as a specification confirming water resistance. What matters more: the newer model or the lower price?
The newer Kids model has twice the listed storage, adjustable warm light, IPX8 waterproofing, and a later published minimum security-update horizon. The older bundle lists a longer Kids+ term. Which differences matter depends on how the reader will use it: waterproofing and warm-light adjustment may be useful priorities, while the included subscription period matters only if the household intends to use Kids+ and the offer applies to that buyer.
Do not infer a saving from generation alone. Amazon’s published product information does not provide live price, stock, or a price comparison for these bundles. Marketplace availability may also differ by generation. Check both listings at the same time and in the same marketplace, and match device condition and bundle contents before calculating a difference. If the older listing is refurbished, used, or missing a listed inclusion, it is not a like-for-like comparison with a new complete bundle.

How to verify whether the older bundle is actually cheaper
- Open the listings for the exact Kindle Paperwhite Kids generations in the marketplace where you plan to buy.
- Confirm the 11th-generation listing says Paperwhite Kids and check its condition, cover inclusion, and Amazon Kids+ term.
- Check the same details for the 12th-generation bundle, including whether the subscription term is six months and whether the cover is included.
- Record both prices on the same date and in the same marketplace. Compare equivalent conditions and bundle contents; do not count a subscription as cash savings unless its value and applicability to your household are clear.
- Recheck the final checkout total and listing terms before purchase, since price, stock and offer eligibility can change.
Is the Kindle Paperwhite Kids 11th Generation still worth considering?
It is a reasonable candidate when the listing is genuine, complete, and materially less expensive for your needs. Its one-year Kids+ term is longer than the six months Amazon lists for the 2024 bundle, but the newer generation offers 16 GB storage, adjustable warm light and IPX8 waterproofing. The best choice turns on the actual price gap, whether the bundle contents suit your household, and which device features you need—not age by itself.
