The Oliver Twins have described a proposed new Treasure Island Dizzy project, but there is no confirmed release date or purchase information. At a Play Expo talk in Blackpool on 3–4 October 2026, Andrew Oliver outlined a concept that would let players switch among ZX Spectrum, NES, Mega Drive and modern versions. The event report says the modern update appears to use generative AI, though it does not specify exactly how.
What is the new Dizzy game?
Andrew Oliver described a project based on Treasure Island Dizzy, the second game in the series. As reported by Time Extension, the proposal combines versions associated with the ZX Spectrum and NES, a newly made Mega Drive iteration, and a modern update. Players would be able to switch between the four versions during play.

This was a concept described during a talk, not a formal release announcement from a publisher. The report does not establish whether the project is greenlit for release or what its final form would be.
The versions in the proposal
| Version | What the report says |
|---|---|
| ZX Spectrum | A version included in the proposed project; further feature details are not stated by Time Extension. |
| NES | A version included in the proposed project; further feature details are not stated by Time Extension. |
| Mega Drive | A newly made iteration is part of the proposal, according to Time Extension. |
| Modern update | A modern version is part of the proposal. Time Extension says it appears to use generative AI but does not detail the specific uses. |
The report does not explain how version switching would work technically, whether the versions would have feature parity, or whether every version would be available in a finished release.

Is the new Dizzy game made with AI?
The event report says project screens and the Oliver Twins’ discussion of AI suggested that the modern update uses generative AI. That is an indication, not a full disclosure: it does not identify which art, code, audio, writing or other elements are AI-generated or AI-assisted, nor name a model or vendor.
Andrew Oliver did speak directly about using AI tools to make games. In Time Extension’s account of the Q&A, he said: “I am absolutely loving getting back into making games, and I can say that it is 100% my work at a computer, using some AI.” He also said, “if I didn’t have these powerful tools, I wouldn’t do it at all.” Time Extension notes that Q&A answers were edited for brevity and clarity, so these are quotations as reported by the publication, not a certified verbatim transcript.

The brothers’ separate project, Journey to the Emerald City, was described as openly using generative AI. That explicit statement about the other project should not be taken as a detailed accounting of AI use in the proposed Dizzy update.
What did the Oliver Twins say about AI?
Andrew Oliver framed AI tools as a means of returning to game development; he said he would not make the project without them. Philip Oliver discussed the need for limits on how AI systems are trained. As reported by Time Extension, he said: “I believe that there should be regulations about what AI is trained on.”
The remarks indicate the creators’ stated position on using AI and training-data rules. They do not establish what training data or licensing arrangements, if any, apply to the proposed Dizzy game.

The Play Expo report gives no release date, confirmed final platform list, price, storefront or purchase link. It also does not identify a physical edition. Until the Oliver Twins or a publisher makes a direct release announcement, the project is best understood as a proposal rather than a game with confirmed availability.
