A Lighter Carbon-Fibre Razer Viper V4 Pro May Be Coming—but the Reported Price Is Around $300

Razer may be preparing carbon-fibre versions of its Viper V4 Pro and DeathAdder V4 Pro gaming mice. The reported Viper weighs 47 g—2 g less than the current model—but a listing cited by PC Gamer shows 1,999 Chinese yuan, roughly $300. That is a reported regional listing, not a confirmed worldwide price or launch.

What is reportedly on the way

Peripheral reviewer iitzKami posted images and wrote, “Razer is going carbon fibre.” PC Gamer says the images look legitimate but stresses that the information remains unconfirmed. The reports concern special carbon-fibre variants of two existing designs, rather than a new mouse family announced by Razer.

Viper V4 Pro carbon-fibre version

The rumored carbon-fibre Viper V4 Pro is listed at 47 g. For context, the existing Viper V4 Pro is reported at 49 g, so the alleged shell change would reduce weight by about 2 g. No confirmed retail specifications, launch date, warranty terms or regional availability have been published.

DeathAdder V4 Pro carbon-fibre version

The rumored DeathAdder version is reported at 49 g. The same report says it may use an upgraded Focus Pro 50K Gen-3 sensor and offer longer battery life, but it does not provide a battery-hour figure or a complete specification sheet.

  • FOCUS PRO 50K DPI OPTICAL SENSOR GEN-3 — Tracks up to 930 IPS and 90 G acceleration for accurate, high‑speed movement while Frame Sync reduces latency by aligning sensor data with the PC for ultimate precision and responsive in‑game control that competitive players expect
  • LONG BATTERY LIFE — Improved wireless efficiency provides up to 180 hours at 1000 Hz or up to 45 hours at 8000 Hz, letting players choose between extended battery life or ultra‑low latency performance

Why the reported price matters

PC Gamer reported a 1,999 RMB listing in some markets, converting to approximately $300. The listing was attributed to Expreview and JD.com, and it should be treated as a market-specific listing rather than a confirmed MSRP. Currency conversion, taxes, import costs and retailer pricing can all change the amount a buyer would pay elsewhere.

The regular Viper V4 Pro is reported at about $160. That makes the rumored carbon-fibre model potentially close to twice the price of the existing mouse, despite the reported 2 g reduction. Until Razer confirms the product and publishes regional pricing, there is no reliable basis for calling $300 the final cost.

How the rumored models compare with known mice

Mouse Reported weight Shell or material Sensor and polling details Battery or connectivity Reported price and status
Viper V4 Pro carbon-fibre variant 47 g Carbon fibre; details not stated Not stated Not stated 1,999 RMB (approximately $300) listing in some markets; unconfirmed
DeathAdder V4 Pro carbon-fibre variant 49 g Carbon fibre; details not stated Focus Pro 50K Gen-3 reportedly planned Longer battery life reportedly planned; hours not stated Price and availability not stated; unconfirmed
Regular Viper V4 Pro 49 g Not stated in the report Not stated in the report Not stated in the report About $160; current baseline product
Sabre V2 Pro Carbon Fiber 55 g Carbon-fibre unibody Not stated in the cited review Three connection modes; up to 120 hours of battery life £159.99; reviewed, available product

The comparison shows why the rumored Razer mice are interesting but not automatically better. The alleged Viper is lighter than the 55 g carbon-fibre Sabre V2 Pro, while the Corsair model has a published battery claim and three connection modes. Those are different strengths, and the Razer specifications are not yet complete enough for a full performance comparison.

Carbon fibre does not guarantee a better mouse

A lighter shell can reduce the force needed for rapid tracking, but shape, balance, grip comfort, clicks, feet, wireless behavior and firmware usually matter more than a two-gram difference. Carbon fibre can also raise manufacturing costs without changing the sensor or control layout. The reported DeathAdder sensor and battery upgrades, if confirmed, would be more consequential than the material alone.

Market context also shows that carbon-fibre and lightweight mice cover a wide range of prices. LTT Labs describes the Attack Shark R11 Ultra as a carbon-fibre-composite mouse at approximately $93, while the Logitech Pro X Superlight 2c is listed at $160. These figures are comparison points, not evidence that either rumored Razer model is available or equivalent in construction.

What buyers should do now

  1. Do not pre-order from an unverified listing. A marketplace listing can precede an official announcement and may have different return, warranty or region-lock conditions.
  2. Check Razer’s official announcement and regional stores. Confirm the exact model name, included receiver and charging accessories, warranty coverage, supported connection modes and local price.
  3. Compare the complete specification sheet. Look for measured weight with and without accessories, sensor model, maximum polling rate, battery rating, dimensions and compatibility.
  4. Use the current Viper V4 Pro as the price baseline. If the confirmed premium is near $140, decide whether the shell material and any upgraded internals justify it for your grip and use.

What remains unknown

  • Razer has not been reported as confirming a launch date.
  • Worldwide MSRP, taxes and retailer pricing are not established.
  • Availability outside the markets showing the 1,999 RMB listing is unknown.
  • The Viper’s sensor, polling, battery and connectivity specifications for the carbon-fibre version are not stated.
  • The DeathAdder’s claimed battery improvement has no published runtime figure.
