How the support system works
Individually pocketed Conforma/Reflex springs
Each spring sits in its own fabric pocket. When one area is loaded, nearby springs are intended to move less than they would in a fully linked coil unit. That arrangement can be useful for couples because movement on one side is less likely to travel across the entire surface. A.H. Beard says the Conforma system adapts to an individual sleeper’s size and shape “to provide all-over support and help keep you asleep.”
The Queen listing from CHOICE records 221 pocket springs per square metre. That is a spring-density figure, not the total spring count for the whole mattress. The total number of springs therefore varies with the mattress’s dimensions. Do not compare 221 springs per square metre with a competitor’s total-count figure without converting the measurements to the same basis.
Profile Edge Support
Profile Edge Support is intended to retain useful support close to the perimeter. A supported edge can make sitting down, standing up and using the full width of the mattress easier. It may also reduce the feeling of rolling toward the side. No independent edge-compression measurement is published, so the claim should be treated as an intended construction feature rather than a verified performance result.

EvoFoam Comfort Foam sits in the comfort package, while the cover is a soft stretch knit. The Plush version is specified with AeroQuilt quilting; the Medium version is listed with an Ultraloft Fibre Blend. A.H. Beard does not publish a complete layer-by-layer bill of materials for Firm or Super Firm, so those versions should be checked with the retailer or the current product label.

Which firmness should you choose?
“Firm or plush” is not a single answer for this range because four choices are offered. A.H. Beard does not publish a numeric firmness scale, a body-weight limit or an independent pressure-relief score. Body weight, sleeping position, shoulder and hip width, and personal preference can all change how the same model feels. Use the descriptions below as a starting point, then lie on the exact version for long enough to check spinal alignment and pressure at your shoulders and hips.
Plush
Plush has the most surface cushioning in the range and is the natural starting point for sleepers who want more sink around the shoulders and hips. AeroQuilt is specified for this option. A softer top can feel comfortable for side sleepers, but no measured firmness or pressure-relief result is published for this model, so comfort for a particular body type cannot be guaranteed.
Medium
Medium is the middle choice for shoppers who do not want the pronounced surface cradle of Plush or the more solid feel of Firm and Super Firm. Its listed comfort material is an Ultraloft Fibre Blend. Firm is designed for less sink and a more immediately supportive surface than Plush or Medium. The published specifications do not identify a unique quilting or foam package for this option, so confirm the construction and return terms for the exact stock keeping unit.

Super Firm
Super Firm is the least yielding choice in the range. It may suit sleepers who prefer minimal compression, but the manufacturer does not publish a body-weight guideline or objective firmness score. Those measurements belong to the listed Queen model; do not assume every size or firmness has identical weight, height or layer count. Check the law label and retailer specification for the version you are ordering.
Price and availability: why the Queen figure needs caution
CHOICE records a reference price of $999 for the Queen and labels the model “Discontinued model.” The figure is therefore a dated reference, not a live recommended retail price or proof that stock remains available. A discontinued listing can represent old inventory, a renamed successor or a product that is no longer supplied in a particular state or size.

Before ordering, ask the retailer to confirm all of the following in writing:
- That the stock is the King Koil Conforma Element rather than a similarly named King Koil model.
- The available firmness (Plush, Medium, Firm or Super Firm) and exact mattress size.
- Whether the item is new, clearance or previously displayed.
- The current delivered price, including any delivery, old-mattress removal or setup fee.
- The manufacture date or batch information, if the mattress has been held in storage.
- That the seller is authorised and can process an A.H. Beard guarantee claim.
Marketplace listings deserve extra scrutiny when a reference source marks a model discontinued. Product photographs can show an earlier cover or a different firmness, and a listing may remain online after the seller has run out of the advertised version.
Breathability, allergy positioning and Australian origin
A.H. Beard markets AeroQuilt and related comfort components as breathable. The company also presents Australian Made and Sensitive Choice positioning for the range. Sensitive Choice is described by the company as relating to long-term protection against dust mites, allergens, mould and bacteria.

Warranty, guarantee and returns
Ten-year guarantee for the original purchaser
The official product information states that the original purchaser receives a 10-year guarantee covering repair for faulty workmanship and materials. “Original purchaser” usually means the person named on the original sales documentation, so retain the invoice and any registration details. The guarantee document—not a retailer summary—controls exclusions, inspection requirements, transport responsibility and whether a repair, replacement or other remedy applies.
No change-of-mind returns
A.H. Beard states that it does not offer change-of-mind returns. The company says support-level adjustments may be available after purchase for a nominal fee, but availability and cost should be confirmed before ordering. - Lie in your usual positions. Spend several minutes on your side, back and stomach if those are positions you use at home.
- Check alignment. Ask a companion or salesperson to look for a level neck and a neutral spine rather than judging only by the first soft impression.
- Check pressure points. Notice whether your shoulder, hip, knees or lower back feel concentrated pressure after several minutes.
- Test movement. Roll, sit on the edge and get up. This checks whether the edge feels secure and whether changing position requires excessive effort.
- Test partner disturbance. Have one person turn or sit while the other remains still. This is an informal demonstration, not an independent motion-transfer measurement.
- Confirm the exact label. Photograph the firmness, size and model name so the delivered item can be checked against the showroom sample.
