A new update to the Ultimate Spider-Man Widescreen Fix improves the 2005-era PC game’s display support, including its aspect ratio, HUD, field of view and cutscenes. It also adds adjustable frame-rate and FOV settings. The update is a mod for the original PC game, not a remaster or a way to obtain the game itself.
What does the new Ultimate Spider-Man widescreen fix change?
The ThirteenAG release page identifies the project as the Ultimate Spider-Man Widescreen Fix. Its listed changes include:
- Corrected aspect ratio for widescreen displays.
- A partially fixed HUD.
- Fixed field of view and full-motion video (FMV) support.
- A changeable frame-rate limit and adjustable field of view through an INI configuration file.
In a report published October 3, 2026, Gamepressure also describes changes to stretched interface and menu elements, optional SMAA anti-aliasing, and improved rendering distance. The report says an option that expands the rendered area to ten times its usual size is experimental and does not work perfectly in every respect, so treat it as an optional feature rather than a guaranteed visual upgrade.
How do I play Ultimate Spider-Man on PC in widescreen?
You need a copy of the original PC game separately; the fix is a modification, not a game download. The PCGamingWiki Ultimate Spider-Man compatibility reference covers the underlying PC game, while the fix’s release page is the place to get its archive and access the linked configuration and source materials.

- Open the WidescreenFix release page and locate the Ultimate Spider-Man entry and its downloadable archive.
- Check the release notes and linked materials for the version and configuration options you want.
- Use the instructions supplied with that release when applying it to your game installation. The release excerpt available here says to extract the archive to the game directory, but does not provide a complete installation walkthrough.
- To change the frame-rate limit or field of view, consult the release’s linked INI file and adjust its available settings.
The available release information does not establish a complete compatibility matrix for modern resolutions, Windows versions, graphics cards or every frame-rate setting. Check the project’s current notes rather than assuming a particular setup is guaranteed to work.
How is this different from the older Remaster Mode?
“Remaster Mode” is a separate, older Nexus Mods package, not another name for the current WidescreenFix. Its Nexus Mods documentation describes a ReShade-based appearance setup with files for widescreen and 60 fps. It instructs users to move its files into the game directory, install ReShade for the game executable, then load its settings file.

Another distinct project, UNK9090’s Ultimate Spider-Man Debug menu for PC, adds debug-oriented functions such as warping and character viewing. Its documentation requires Ultimate Spider-Man PC Widescreen and Visual C++ 2015; it is not part of the WidescreenFix update.
