Sometimes. A web clipper may retain the page’s original address without preserving every link inside the page, and formatting can change or content can be omitted. The result depends on the clipper, its capture mode, and how the website is built. If appearance matters more than editable text, a screenshot-style capture is a different option—but it saves an image, not a reconstructed web page.
What “keep links” can mean
There are two separate things to check: whether the saved clip records the original page URL, and whether hyperlinks within the clipped content still work. A source URL is useful for returning to the page, but it does not establish that every embedded link was retained.
Notion says a URL property is added when a page is clipped into a database. Evernote says a saved clip contains the page contents and its URL. Neither statement guarantees that all links in the page body survive clipping. The official guidance does not establish a universal answer for in-page links across these products, so inspect important links in the saved item.
What happens to formatting
Content-oriented clipping tries to save readable page material; it may not reproduce the original layout. Notion warns that websites are built in different ways, that formatting in Notion varies, and that some page content may be missing. Evernote likewise cautions that formatting and layout may look different from the page in a browser.

Screenshot capture takes another approach: it preserves the visible appearance as an image rather than extracting an editable page structure. That can retain the look of the captured area, but it is not the same as preserving editable text, links, or page behavior.
How the capture mode changes the result

How to check a clip you need to rely on
- Open the saved item and confirm the source URL is present, if you need to return to the original page.
- Check the content that matters: headings, tables, images, and any embedded links you expect to use.
- If the page looks incomplete or hard to read, save it again using another available mode. Choose a content-oriented mode for readable text or a screenshot mode when visual appearance is the priority.
- For a record that must retain the original visual layout, consider taking a separate screenshot or PDF as well as saving the editable clip. Verify the captured scope before relying on it.
This check is worthwhile because the providers document variation and possible missing content; it does not mean that every clip will fail.

When a screenshot is the better fit
Use a screenshot when you need a visual record of how a page or selected region appeared at capture time. Use a content-oriented clip when you want text that is easier to read or edit. Neither choice alone proves that every in-page hyperlink remains functional: verify important links in the saved result.
