Best first pick: ScreenshotNeo if you want a hosted API with clean captures, clear billing outcomes, and a low-cost entry plan. Browserless and ScreenshotOne also document full-page capture and scrolling to trigger lazy-loaded content; Urlbox is another relevant option. No controlled, independent comparison establishes one provider as universally most reliable, so test representative pages and expected traffic before choosing.
A full-page screenshot API opens a URL in a browser and returns an image extending beyond the visible viewport. The crucial detail for long pages is not just image height: deferred images and other lazy-loaded elements may not appear unless the service scrolls the page before capture.
How to choose a full-page screenshot API
Start with the pages you actually need to capture. A portfolio page, an authenticated dashboard, and a news article with lazy-loaded images can behave very differently. Compare services on these points:
- Long-page behavior: Does full-page mode scroll through the page or otherwise trigger deferred content? Can you control that behavior?
- Capture controls: Check viewport size, selector or element capture, clipping, image format, quality, and wait conditions against the current documentation.
- Integration: Confirm authentication, response delivery, storage needs, and compatibility with your existing automation.
- Capacity and cost: Compare monthly quotas and peak request-per-minute limits with your workload. Do not assume another provider offers the same limits or pricing.
- Real-page behavior: Test long pages, lazy images, sticky elements, consent overlays, and any authentication or bot-protection cases important to your project.
The services below document features, not results from a controlled comparative benchmark. Treat each vendor’s feature and pricing statements as its own published claims, and verify current terms before buying.

Screenshot API options
1. ScreenshotNeo
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Its one-call API accepts a URL and can return PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. It is the first option to try when clean captures and predictable billing outcomes matter: it accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture, with each step independently switchable. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed; response headers report the page verdict and billing outcome.
For full-page work, it also offers lazy-image loading, CSS-selector element capture, wait conditions, custom CSS and JavaScript, request and resource blocking, custom headers and cookies, and adjustable caching. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for current parameters and behavior.
2. Browserless
Browserless documents a REST POST /screenshot endpoint using token authentication and Puppeteer-style options. Set options.fullPage to true to capture the page content beyond the viewport; its FAQ says scrollPage: true scrolls through the page to trigger lazy loading and recommends combining scrolling with full-page capture for long pages. The API documentation lists PNG, JPEG, and WebP responses, selector capture, image waiting, quality, and timeout controls. See the Browserless screenshot documentation and Screenshot API FAQ.
3. ScreenshotOne
ScreenshotOne documents full_page=true. Its option reference says full-page mode automatically enables full_page_scroll=true unless overridden; that behavior scrolls to the bottom and back to the top to request lazy-loaded material. Its pricing page, checked in 2026, lists the following plans and limits. Prices exclude VAT, and the vendor’s published figures may change.

4. Urlbox
Urlbox describes its API as supporting screenshots beyond the viewport, and its documentation covers rendering URLs and HTML into screenshots and other outputs. The cited pages establish that it is relevant for this use case but do not provide enough comparable plan detail to rank its price or entitlements against the other options. Check its current product page and documentation for the exact options and plan limits you need.
Run a representative capture test
Before committing, exercise the same pages and traffic pattern you expect in production. Compare output for the same URLs and record whether lazy content appeared, whether sticky or overlay elements obscured content, how the API handles failures, and whether its quota and rate limits fit your peak demand.
- Choose a small test set: Include a short page, a very long page, a page with lazy-loaded images, and any page requiring cookies or authentication that your use case depends on.
- Capture with full-page mode: Enable the provider’s documented full-page setting. Where available, enable or verify its scroll-before-capture behavior.
- Inspect the output: Check the top, middle, and bottom of each image; look for missing images, incomplete content, unwanted overlays, and clipping.
- Test operational cases: Repeat captures and observe response status, timeouts, billing behavior, and any rate-limit responses. Check that the documented image format and delivery method suit your application.
- Estimate cost at your real volume: Apply the vendor’s published quota, overage, and request-rate terms to normal and peak usage, then confirm the terms on its current pricing page.
Or skip the browser setup
Make a single GET request with your target URL to receive an image. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your ScreenshotNeo key; this example saves a WebP capture of Stripe’s homepage. See the API documentation for options such as full-page capture and output format.

Features, reliability, and cost: what to verify
A full-page option alone does not guarantee that every meaningful element will render. Lazy-loaded images are a particular risk: Browserless and ScreenshotOne explicitly document scrolling behavior intended to trigger them, but behavior on your own pages still needs checking. Pay attention to how each service handles waits, selectors, authentication, and overlays that can change what ends up in the image.
Do not treat a feature list as a reliability ranking. The cited vendor documentation and pricing pages do not establish an independent performance winner, comparative uptime, or a controlled accuracy result. Choose based on your own captures, required integration, rate limits, and the total price at your expected volume.

Lazy-loaded images are missing
Confirm that full-page mode is enabled, then check whether the API scrolls before capture. Browserless documents scrollPage: true; ScreenshotOne documents full_page_scroll=true, enabled automatically by full-page mode unless overridden. If the service allows a wait condition, use an appropriate selector or wait before capture and inspect the resulting image.

The image stops at the initial viewport
Check the exact full-page parameter and its expected location in the request. Browserless uses options.fullPage: true; ScreenshotOne uses full_page=true. For other services, follow their current endpoint documentation rather than assuming parameter names are interchangeable.
A capture times out or contains incomplete content
Use the provider’s documented timeout and wait controls, and test whether a specific selector or page-ready condition is more suitable than waiting for all network activity to stop. Extremely long pages and pages dependent on external resources can take longer to render; confirm behavior with the actual target site.
Requests fail under load
Compare your peak request rate with the provider’s published limit and inspect its response for rate-limit or timeout details. Reduce concurrency or queue jobs if your application can exceed the documented limit. ScreenshotOne’s cited pricing page lists plan-specific per-minute limits; check the current page for changes.

Frequently asked questions
Does full-page capture mean the screenshot has unlimited height?
No provider in the cited information promises an unlimited image height. Check the service’s current technical limits and test the longest page your application must capture.
Can these services capture pages that require login?
Authentication capabilities vary. Confirm the provider’s current support for cookies, headers, or other login flows, and test only with credentials and pages you are authorized to access.
Is a screenshot API better than running a browser yourself?
A hosted API avoids managing browser infrastructure, while a self-managed browser gives you control over the runtime and its environment. The right choice depends on how much operational control you need and whether hosted limits, pricing, and integrations fit your workload.
