The per-file size limit and monthly credit allowance are separate constraints: paid plans list unlimited PDF size, but still have a finite number of monthly credits.
How PDF credits are calculated
Html2Pdf.app says each 5 MB chunk of generated PDF output costs one credit. Its pricing page gives a 15 MB PDF as an example that uses three credits. That means the plan’s credit total does not equal the number of API requests it can handle: a larger output consumes more credits than a smaller one.

The page does not explain how it rounds a PDF whose size is not an exact multiple of 5 MB. If your workload includes files near a chunk boundary, use the vendor’s account or billing interface to confirm the calculation before estimating capacity.
Credits reset on the first day of each month. The official material reviewed does not describe rollover, so do not assume unused credits carry forward.

What happens when credits run out?
The official pricing material reviewed does not publish an overage rate. It also does not clearly state whether requests stop, incur a charge, require an upgrade, or can be covered by purchasing extra credits once the monthly allowance is exhausted.
The API documentation says an HTTP 403 response can indicate that the account has reached a limit included in its current plan. It does not establish whether that response is the specific behavior for exhausted credits or explain any post-limit billing. Check the account billing interface or ask Html2Pdf.app before relying on continued processing or budgeting an overage.

How to estimate which plan fits
- Estimate output, not just request volume. Apply the documented one-credit-per-5-MB-chunk rule to the PDFs you expect to generate. Because rounding for partial chunks is not stated, verify estimates for files near a boundary.
- Check peak concurrency. The published parallel-conversion limits are one, three, ten, and twenty for Free, Startup, Standard, and Scale. Match the plan to how many conversions may need to run simultaneously.
- Check individual file size. Free lists a 1 MB per-file cap; paid plans list unlimited PDF size. This limit does not replace the monthly credit cap.
- Confirm billing terms that are not published clearly. Verify yearly pricing, rollover, and what happens at credit exhaustion directly in the selector, account checkout, or with the vendor before committing.
How the API works and what to test
Html2Pdf.app provides a hosted HTML-to-PDF API. Its documentation describes submitting raw HTML or a publicly reachable URL, authenticating with an X-API-Key header, and receiving PDF bytes for synchronous requests; it also documents an asynchronous callback option. Keep API keys on a backend or in a trusted job, not in browser JavaScript where visitors can inspect them.
The service says conversions run in headless Chromium and support modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Output can depend on CSS media mode, available fonts and external resources, and when JavaScript finishes loading. Test representative pages and documents before estimating production credit consumption or promising a particular rendering result.
