Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsYou can broadcast prerecorded videos as a continuous YouTube Live stream without leaving your computer on: enable live streaming for your channel, create a YouTube live stream, then connect a cloud platform that loops your uploaded videos and sends the feed using your YouTube stream URL and key. StreamNeo is one option for this workflow; YouTube also lists other encoder services. A live broadcast is not the same as publishing an ordinary YouTube playlist.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel eligible to livestream. YouTube requires channel verification and no livestream restriction in the prior 90 days. First-time livestream enablement may take up to 24 hours. See YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance.
- Video files you have the rights to broadcast, including music and other third-party material.
- A cloud platform that accepts prerecorded video or playlists and sends them to YouTube as an encoder feed.
- A YouTube stream URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
YouTube’s encoder guidance explains the connection workflow and lists cloud and software encoder options.
How to set up a continuous prerecorded live stream
- Enable live streaming. In YouTube Studio, follow the channel’s live-stream setup prompts. If this is the channel’s first live stream, allow up to 24 hours for activation. Confirm the channel meets YouTube’s eligibility requirements before planning a launch.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create a stream, or schedule one for a future start. Scheduling can create an upcoming watch page for viewers. Follow the current on-screen Live Control Room prompts; labels and available options may vary with YouTube’s interface.
- Prepare the playlist in your cloud service. Upload the prerecorded videos and arrange them in the order you want them played. Check the service’s current file, format, resolution, storage, and playlist limits before uploading; those details vary by provider.
- Connect the service to YouTube. In the cloud platform’s YouTube or destination settings, provide the stream URL and stream key shown for the stream in YouTube’s Live Control Room. Some services ask you to paste both; others guide you through a connection flow. Do not share or publish the key.
- Check the preview and start. Confirm that YouTube receives the expected video and audio in Live Control Room. Start the broadcast in the cloud service, then use YouTube’s scheduled-stream workflow if the broadcast requires a separate go-live confirmation. Verify that playback continues into the next playlist item.
- Monitor the stream. Check the platform and YouTube status after launch and periodically while it runs. Confirm what happens if the connection is interrupted, whether the service retries automatically, and how it reports errors; recovery behavior is service-specific.
Choosing a cloud platform for 24/7 playback
For this exact use case, compare continuous playlist automation rather than assuming every encoder offers it. YouTube’s encoder directory specifically describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded streaming, while AWS Elemental MediaLive is listed as a verified, broadcast-grade live video processing option. StreamYard documents prerecorded streaming to YouTube and scheduling prerecorded streams up to 365 days ahead, but the cited documentation does not establish it as a continuous 24/7 playlist service.
| Option | What the cited documentation establishes | What to verify before choosing |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live 24/7 from uploaded videos or a playlist; it loops playback from the cloud. | Review current service details and your storage needs on StreamNeo. |
| Gyre | YouTube’s encoder guidance describes it as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded content and says a dedicated PC is not needed. This is a vendor listing, not a guarantee of uptime or results. | Current prices, limits, reliability, and detailed recovery behavior are not established by the cited YouTube listing. Check Gyre’s current terms directly. |
| AWS Elemental MediaLive | YouTube lists it among verified encoders and describes it as broadcast-grade live video processing; the cited listing does not present it as a simple playlist scheduling service. | Confirm how to implement repeat playback, operations, and costs for your setup. These details are not established by the cited listing. |
| StreamYard | Its help documentation covers prerecorded streaming, YouTube as a supported destination, and scheduling prerecorded streams up to 365 days ahead. See Prerecorded Streaming and Supported Platforms. | The cited documentation does not establish it as a continuous 24/7 playlist service. Check current plan limits and whether its workflow fits your intended duration. |
Whichever service you evaluate, check whether it supports continuous looping, which media formats and resolutions it accepts, whether your computer must remain on, how it monitors and recovers a dropped feed, how scheduling works, what happens to archives, and what current plan and storage limits apply. The cited materials do not establish comparable current prices, uptime commitments, or complete service limits across these options.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Protect the stream key and test the handoff
The stream key authorizes a feed to the associated YouTube stream. Keep it private, enter it only in the cloud service you selected, and rotate it in YouTube’s live-stream settings if it is exposed. YouTube explains stream configuration in Manage live stream settings.
- Confirm the cloud service is sending to the intended scheduled broadcast, not another stream on the channel.
- Watch the preview for picture, audio, and correct playlist order before relying on unattended playback.
- Check the provider’s documented reconnection and alert behavior rather than assuming a dropped connection will restart automatically.
- If you need a record of the broadcast, keep a separate archive. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; a continuous stream exceeding 12 hours may not be archived. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
Copyright, reused content, and monetization
You are responsible for holding the rights needed to broadcast every part of the playlist, including music. YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to have the necessary rights, including music licensing rights. A video being available online, or having a license for one use, does not automatically establish that you can stream it continuously on your channel.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace the feed with a placeholder, interrupt the stream, or terminate it if matching content remains. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; consult YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Live status and accumulated watch time do not guarantee monetization. YouTube applies its monetization rules to live streams and assesses originality and authenticity across the channel. Repetitive or mass-produced material may be ineligible, and permission to use content does not by itself make it eligible under the reused-content policy. Read YouTube’s channel monetization policies before building a channel around repeated prerecorded broadcasts.

Common problems and what to check
- You cannot start a live stream: check that livestreaming is enabled, the channel is verified, and no restriction in the prior 90 days affects eligibility. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube shows no incoming video: confirm the stream URL and key match the intended stream, and that the cloud service has actually started sending its feed. Recheck the preview in Live Control Room.
- The stream is interrupted after launch: check YouTube’s copyright notifications and the cloud service’s connection status. Rights-holder Content ID settings can interrupt even licensed content if the channel is not allowlisted.
- The playlist stops or does not loop: inspect the service’s playlist configuration and current file or duration limits. Looping and recovery behavior are provider-specific, so consult that service’s current help documentation.
- You cannot find a YouTube archive afterward: a continuous stream exceeding 12 hours may not be archived. Keep your own source files or another archive when retaining a complete record matters.
- A long-running channel is not monetized: review originality, repetitive-content, and reused-content rules; rights clearance alone does not settle monetization eligibility.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo keeps a YouTube stream running from uploaded videos or a playlist: upload your video, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The first day is free with no card required, one free day per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. The service is YouTube-only and plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed.
