To check an ongoing YouTube broadcast from India, sign in to the channel’s YouTube Studio, open the stream in Live Control Room, and inspect Stream health and the live indicators. You can also use YouTube’s documented Android metrics, though the information shown can vary by streaming method and device. Remote monitoring lets you check reported status; it does not remotely restart an encoder or guarantee that an interruption will be fixed.
Check the broadcast in YouTube Studio
- Sign in to YouTube Studio using an account authorized to manage the channel’s stream.
- Open the Live area and find the current broadcast. YouTube’s creator guide groups streams as Live Now, Upcoming, and Live Replay; choose the active stream rather than an upcoming or past one. See YouTube’s live-streaming guide.
- Open the stream’s Live Control Room or dashboard and look at Stream health/status. YouTube says stream status can include specific errors and instructions. Read the message and follow its indicated troubleshooting steps.
- Check duration as well as status. An advancing duration indicates that the broadcast clock is progressing; a reported stream-health issue is a technical signal to investigate.
Know which indicators answer which question
YouTube’s Live metrics documentation lists technical status and real-time audience metrics. Treat them as different kinds of evidence:
- Stream health/status: reported sending problems and, where available, error guidance.
- Duration: whether the live broadcast’s elapsed-time indicator is advancing.
- Concurrent viewers and views: audience reach, not a diagnosis of encoder or network stability.
- Chat rate and average view duration: audience activity and viewing behavior, not proof that the incoming feed is technically healthy.
A low viewer count alone does not show that a stream is broken, and audience activity alone does not establish that the encoder feed is stable. Use Stream health for reported technical errors and audience metrics for audience questions.
Monitor from an Android phone
YouTube documents live stream status and metrics on Android in its Android metrics guide. Sign in with the account that can manage the channel, open the relevant live stream in the YouTube Studio/Live interface, and check the status and available real-time indicators. The exact information visible can differ by device and streaming method; YouTube notes that encoder streams and phone-produced streams do not necessarily expose identical metrics.

For a stream produced by an encoder, treat the phone as a way to check the dashboard, not as remote control of the encoder. If a reported issue requires someone to inspect or restart the production computer, arrange a separate way to reach that person.
Plan for interruptions and long broadcasts
The documented dashboard supports checking reported status and metrics; it does not establish guaranteed alert delivery, remote encoder control, or automatic restart after a network interruption. If preserving the complete feed matters, keeping a local recording and arranging an independent contact who can inspect the encoder are prudent operating practices, not YouTube guarantees.

YouTube’s mobile creator guide says streams up to 12 hours are automatically converted to video-on-demand and advises teams to record broadcasts longer than 12 hours for manual upload. Because that guide is event-oriented, confirm current archive behavior in the live-streaming interface before relying on it for a continuous broadcast. See YouTube’s mobile live-streaming guide.
After the stream ends
Use Live Control Room for the live dashboard. YouTube says live metrics become available in YouTube Analytics within minutes after a stream ends, but Analytics data is processed and despammed and measures different information. Use the post-stream report for later analysis rather than treating it as a replacement for the live health check.

Or let it run in the cloud
If the stream is made from uploaded videos rather than a live camera, StreamNeo is a cloud option for keeping a YouTube channel live: upload a recording or make a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so no computer or home connection has to stay on. It supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are available in India. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast from a camera. Start the free first day with StreamNeo.
