Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallTo keep an FFmpeg stream stable on JioFiber, first measure the connection’s real upload performance, then set a sustainable video bitrate and use YouTube’s current encoder settings. If FFmpeg exits, supervise and restart the process; if it stays running but YouTube stops receiving data, check the network path and YouTube Live Control Room. There is no established JioFiber router setting that guarantees an uninterrupted stream.
1. Measure upload performance with the stream you plan to run
Your broadband plan’s advertised speed—especially its download speed—does not establish that the connection can sustain a live-stream upload. Test the upload path using the same resolution, frame rate, audio, and representative movement you intend to stream. Repeat the test at the times when drops usually occur: one speed test is only a snapshot. YouTube likewise advises testing with audio and video movement similar to the planned stream. See YouTube’s encoder settings guidance.
Record the time, observed upload rate, FFmpeg output or error, and YouTube’s stream-health status for each test. This helps distinguish a brief local or ISP interruption from an encoder or ingestion problem.
2. Choose a bitrate your connection can sustain
Use YouTube’s current guidance for the exact codec, resolution, and frame rate you intend to send. For reference, YouTube’s current table lists H.264 at 1080p30 with a 5 Mbps minimum and 14 Mbps recommended bitrate, and H.264 at 720p30 with a 3 Mbps minimum and 8 Mbps recommended bitrate. These are encoder recommendations, not measurements or guarantees of JioFiber upload capacity. If your observed upload varies, try a lower video bitrate and check whether YouTube reports healthier, more consistent ingestion.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
When comparing two bitrates, hold the other stream settings steady and note upload performance and YouTube health at each setting. Do not assume an encoder setting is sustainable just because it starts successfully.
3. Match FFmpeg output to YouTube’s current requirements
YouTube supports RTMP and RTMPS ingestion and documents H.264, H.265, and AV1 video options, AAC or MP3 audio, and constant bitrate (CBR). Its guidance recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. Exact settings depend on codec, resolution, and frame rate, so consult the current YouTube encoder settings table rather than applying one combination to every stream. YouTube recommends RTMPS for a secure connection.

Use the server URL and stream key shown in YouTube Live Control Room. The setup workflow is documented in YouTube’s guide to creating a live stream with an encoder. Treat the stream key as a credential: do not share it or expose it in public logs or command history. If it may have been exposed, replace it in Live Control Room and update the encoder with the new key.
4. Distinguish an FFmpeg crash from a lost connection
If FFmpeg has exited
Keep FFmpeg’s standard error output and process exit status. Run the command under a service manager or another process supervisor that can log failures and restart the process after a delay. Use bounded retrying or a delay between attempts rather than an uncontrolled rapid restart loop; repeated failures should prompt inspection of the error and configuration. A process restart can recover from an encoder process failure, but it does not make an outage into one uninterrupted broadcast.

If FFmpeg is still running but YouTube receives no data
Check FFmpeg’s output for publishing errors, then inspect the network path and YouTube’s stream-health feedback. A live process alone does not prove that data is reaching YouTube. The YouTube Live Streaming API documentation describes stream states such as active, inactive, ready, and error, and health states including good, ok, bad, and noData. These signals can help separate missing ingestion from configuration problems.
5. Don’t treat HTTP reconnect flags as RTMP recovery
FFmpeg documents options such as reconnect and reconnect_on_network_error for the HTTP protocol. Its RTMP documentation covers RTMP and RTMPS options, including TCP keepalive, but does not establish the HTTP retry switches as a universal way to recover an RTMP publishing output. Check the protocol actually used and the documentation for your exact FFmpeg version and build; for a process that exits, use supervision rather than assuming HTTP flags will restart publishing. See FFmpeg’s protocol documentation.

6. Test the local network before changing router settings
If the encoder uses Wi-Fi, test the same stream over wired Ethernet if the computer has a compatible port or adapter. Keep the encoder and stream settings the same so the comparison can reveal whether the wireless link is contributing to drops. Ethernet can help diagnose a local Wi-Fi issue; it cannot fix an ISP-side interruption, an encoding error, a YouTube ingestion fault, or a power failure.
No JioFiber-specific bridge-mode setting, port-forwarding rule, public-IP requirement, or router configuration that guarantees stable outbound streaming is established here. Diagnose the layer that is failing before changing router settings.

7. Check YouTube’s stream health and archive expectations
Use Live Control Room or the API’s stream health and configuration feedback to check whether YouTube is receiving data and whether it reports a problem. The API documentation also describes primary and backup ingestion addresses, including RTMPS. A backup publishing path is an advanced option; it does not prevent a local broadband outage.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived after stopping. That archive behavior does not promise that restarting FFmpeg will preserve one uninterrupted live broadcast. Check YouTube’s current live-stream guidance for details: Live Streaming API.
8. Troubleshoot by symptom
| Symptom | What to check | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| FFmpeg exits | Standard error output, exit status, and whether the command or credentials changed | Correct the reported issue, then use a supervisor with logged, delayed retries. |
| FFmpeg runs but YouTube shows no data | Publishing errors, network path, server URL, stream key, and YouTube stream health | Verify the Live Control Room target and credentials; use health feedback to investigate missing ingestion or configuration issues. |
| Stream drops at certain times | Upload performance and health at the failure times, with timestamps and representative stream settings | Repeat tests during those periods and try a lower bitrate if upload capacity varies. |
| Wi-Fi stream drops | Whether the local wireless link is involved | Compare with wired Ethernet using the same settings; treat it as a diagnostic, not a fix for ISP outages. |
| Reconnect flags appear ineffective | Whether the output uses HTTP or RTMP/RTMPS, plus the FFmpeg build’s protocol options | Do not assume HTTP retry options recover RTMP publishing; supervise a process that exits and investigate a still-running process separately. |
