StreamNeo is one cloud option: it runs uploaded videos on YouTube from the cloud, with one flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps and a free first day. The right LiveReacting alternative depends on whether you need an unattended playlist, a live-production studio, or multistreaming.
How to choose a LiveReacting alternative
“Prerecorded streaming” does not necessarily mean a service can repeat a playlist indefinitely. Check these separately before moving a channel:
- Hosting: Cloud playout runs remotely; local software such as OBS depends on your computer and internet connection staying online.
- Playback: Confirm whether the service loops one video, supports playlists, and repeats the playlist automatically.
- Runtime: Look for a service-imposed maximum stream duration; do not assume a prerecorded feature means unlimited runtime.
- Capacity and destinations: Check concurrent streams, storage and file-size limits, and whether YouTube is supported alongside other destinations.
- Recovery and archives: Ask how the service handles a dropped connection and decide whether you need a separate recording.
The feature and price descriptions for several services below come from LiveReacting’s comparison page, so treat them as leads, not independent verification. Confirm current limits and pricing on the provider’s own pages before subscribing. LiveReacting’s comparison of 24/7 streaming services and its pricing page describe the products and plans; figures and feature availability can change.
Best alternatives by use case
| Option | Best fit | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Unattended YouTube playback from uploaded videos, with cloud operation and a flat price per slot across supported upload quality. | YouTube only; confirm your playlist and storage needs. Includes 10 GB storage per slot, pooled across active slots. |
| OBS Studio | Free local streaming software and control over a simple looping setup. | Your computer and network must stay online; you handle connectivity and recovery. |
| Upstream and Gyre | Cloud services identified by LiveReacting as options for continuous video streaming. | Playlist repetition, stream duration, destinations, plan capacity and current price. |
| Live247 | YouTube-focused server-side looping of video or audio playlists, as described by LiveReacting. | Current usage billing, runtime, playlist behavior and stream quality limits. LiveReacting reported an approximate monthly equivalent for one continuous stream at 1080p or lower based on an hourly rate; verify the current rate directly before relying on that estimate. |
| Castr | Video hosting and playout, with looping described as available on a higher plan. | Which plan includes looping, its storage and destination limits, and whether runtime suits a continuous stream. |
| OneStream | Scheduled prerecorded streams, with a YouTube-only 24/7 add-on described by LiveReacting. | Add-on terms, included capacity, playlist repetition and current price. |
| LiveReacting | A 24/7 plan that its pricing page describes as supporting playlist looping, one concurrent stream by default and no service-set stream time limit. | Plan-specific storage, file-size and destination caps, plus current pricing. |
| StreamYard and Restream | Adjacent choices for browser-based live shows, guests or multistreaming. | The comparison data reports restrictions on continuous prerecorded playback; verify whether either meets your exact loop workflow. |
Vendor descriptions and plan details in this table are reported by LiveReacting, not independently confirmed for each provider. See its comparison and pricing page, then check the relevant provider’s current official documentation before purchase.

For a free local setup
OBS Studio is the straightforward choice when you want to avoid a streaming-service subscription and can keep your own machine running. LiveReacting’s comparison describes looping a video with a media source. The trade-off is operational: the computer running OBS and its internet connection must remain available, and you are responsible for recovering the stream if something interrupts it. The comparison does not establish a particular computer specification, so choose hardware based on your video and streaming workload rather than assuming a minimum model.

For a live show or multistreaming
StreamYard and Restream are more relevant if you need a browser-based studio, guests or multistreaming than if your main job is an unattended playlist. The available comparison data flags restrictions on continuous prerecorded playback. Confirm that the service explicitly supports the loop and duration you need before treating it as a 24/7 solution.
Run a loop locally with OBS
This approach keeps playback on your computer, not in a cloud playout service. The exact OBS labels can vary by version and operating system; confirm the current controls in your installed version. The key requirement is that the computer running OBS and its network connection stay on for the whole broadcast.

- Prepare the source video. Use a file you have rights to stream. Keep a local copy available and test that it plays through to the end in your intended resolution.
- Create a scene and add the video. In OBS, create or select a scene, add a Media Source, and choose the video file. Enable its loop option if you want one video to repeat. For a multi-video sequence, build the playlist behavior in the setup you plan to use and test whether it repeats; do not assume a media source automatically loops a playlist.
- Set the YouTube destination. In YouTube Studio, create or open a live stream and copy its stream key. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube if offered, and connect your account or paste the key using the method shown in your version. Keep the key private: anyone with it may be able to stream to your channel.
- Configure output and video. In OBS settings, choose an output resolution, frame rate and encoder bitrate appropriate to your upload bandwidth and the content. YouTube’s current requirements should guide exact values; this comparison research does not establish bitrate, keyframe or resolution settings, so do not treat a generic preset as universally suitable. Avoid selecting a quality your connection cannot sustain.
- Start and monitor the broadcast. Start streaming in OBS, then confirm in YouTube Studio that the incoming stream is healthy before making it public. Watch a full loop, including the transition at the end, and check audio sync and dropped frames.
- Keep the setup alive. Prevent sleep or shutdown, keep the network connection stable, and monitor for interruptions. If OBS or the computer stops, the stream stops until you restore it and reconnect.
YouTube monetization, copyright and stream archives
A loop does not guarantee monetization
YouTube says monetized content should be original and authentic rather than mass-produced, generic or repetitive. Its channel monetization policy applies to live streams as well as other video formats and says reused material must add significant original commentary, substantive modifications, or educational or entertainment value. Copyright and other YouTube rules still apply. A stream tool cannot make content eligible by itself, and repeating original footage alone does not guarantee monetization. Read YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
Do not rely on a long live archive
YouTube says it can automatically archive streams shorter than 12 hours, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving the full program matters, arrange a separate recording or backup instead of relying on the live archive. See YouTube’s guidance on archiving live streams.

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.

Common problems and what to check
- The stream ends when the video ends: Check that looping is enabled for the source or playlist, then watch the transition in a test broadcast. Support for prerecorded video alone does not prove continuous playlist looping.
- The stream stops when you leave: A local OBS stream needs its host computer and network online. Use a cloud playout service if you need playback to continue with your computer off.
- YouTube does not receive the stream: Check the selected YouTube destination, stream key and stream status in YouTube Studio. If you replaced or reset the key, update the streaming setup; do not share the key publicly.
- Playback is unstable: Check upload bandwidth and dropped frames, then reduce the configured output demand if your connection cannot sustain it. For a cloud service, check its connection recovery behavior and plan limits.
- The video or playlist is rejected or stops early: Check file-size, storage, format and runtime limits for the selected plan. Confirm the service supports the specific playlist behavior you need.
- The archive is missing or incomplete: Streams over 12 hours may not be captured by YouTube, so use a separate recording if you need a complete copy.
- Monetization is limited: Review originality, repetitiveness, reused-content and copyright issues in the channel’s material. Changing streaming providers does not resolve content-policy problems.
Before switching from LiveReacting
- Run the exact video or playlist you intend to stream and confirm repeat behavior at the end.
- Verify the service’s maximum runtime, number of concurrent streams, destination support, storage and file-size limits.
- Confirm reconnection behavior and decide who will respond if the stream stops.
- Check current pricing and whether the required loop feature is included in the plan rather than sold as an add-on.
- Decide whether YouTube’s live archive is sufficient or whether you need a separate recording.
- Review content rights and YouTube’s originality and monetization policies before making a stream public.
