For one continuous prerecorded podcast video, a Linux VPS in or near India can work if its monthly data-transfer allowance covers the stream’s total bitrate. Amazon Lightsail’s Mumbai 2 GB Linux bundle is a documented self-managed baseline, but its Mumbai allowance is 1.5 TB per month—enough for a 4 Mbps stream by a narrow margin before overhead, and not enough for a continuous 10 Mbps stream. If you would rather not administer a server, StreamNeo is the first managed option to consider: it keeps an uploaded video live on YouTube from the cloud, at any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with a free first day.
This comparison assumes a single prerecorded, already-encoded video loop—not a live camera or a production with real-time scene composition, overlays, or transcoding. There are no independent provider benchmarks or route tests here, so the recommendation is based on published specifications, not a tested performance ranking.
Which hosting option should you choose?
For a simple prerecorded loop, compare total output bitrate and monthly transfer first; a VPS’s CPU is usually less demanding when it serves an already-encoded file than when it composes or transcodes a live production. Choose a provider only after checking its current region, transfer policy, overage charges, storage, recovery behavior, and renewal price.
| Option | Published detail | Fit and main check |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Managed service for keeping an uploaded video live on YouTube; one stream per slot, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots. | Best first option if you want to avoid running a server: always-on cloud looping, any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and the first day free. YouTube only. |
| Amazon Lightsail, Mumbai | AWS lists a 2 GB public-IPv4 Linux bundle at $12/month with 2 vCPU, 60 GB SSD, and 3 TB standard transfer; the Mumbai allowance is half, or 1.5 TB/month. | Self-managed baseline for a single loop if the transfer allowance is sufficient. Higher-bitrate output can exceed the Mumbai allowance; AWS charges for excess outbound transfer. See Lightsail pricing and Mumbai transfer rules. |
| Inservers India streaming VPS | The vendor lists ₹880/month, 2 vCores, and 4 GB RAM for one 1080p60 relay without transcoding. | A vendor-claimed India-positioned relay option, especially if relaying an input or using multiple platforms. Verify the actual location, transfer terms, current price, and fit for a prerecorded loop. |
| Hostinger VPS with Restreamer | The page advertises one-click Restreamer and shows ₹599/month. | Could suit a self-managed multi-platform relay, but the listed price alone does not establish transfer allowance or suitability for an uninterrupted prerecorded loop. |
| Nivohost streaming VPS | The vendor lists promotional plans from ₹699/month for 360p at 10 fps to ₹3,499/month for 1080p at 60 fps, with 20 TB bandwidth. | Specialist Windows RDP plans with advertised output limits. Confirm current price, renewal terms, quality, and automation before relying on the specifications. |
| YtLive Stream | The vendor lists a ₹499/month Starter plan for one active stream up to 720p and a ₹999/month Pro plan for two active streams at 1080p. | Managed option advertising playlists, scheduling, and reconnection. Verify plan limits, storage, and actual recovery behavior. |
For Indian channels, UPI is available at StreamNeo; cards are also accepted in India, and card checkout is available worldwide. Provider prices and bandwidth policies can change, so confirm current availability, taxes, public-IP charges, renewal prices, and overage rates before committing.

Estimate the transfer a 24/7 stream needs
For a constant-bitrate stream, a useful 30-day estimate is monthly decimal GB ≈ total bitrate in Mbps × 324. This is arithmetic for 30 days (bitrate multiplied by seconds, divided by 8,000,000), before protocol overhead and any other traffic. Use the total video-plus-audio output bitrate, not just the video setting.
| Total stream bitrate | Approximate transfer for 30 uninterrupted days | What it means for Lightsail Mumbai |
|---|---|---|
| 4 Mbps | 1,296 GB, or about 1.3 TB | Fits under the documented 1.5 TB allowance on paper, leaving limited room for overhead and other traffic. |
| 10 Mbps | 3.24 TB | Exceeds the documented 1.5 TB allowance. |
These are estimates, not provider-measured usage. Keep operational margin and check the allowance for the exact region and plan. AWS’s published Mumbai allowance for the 2 GB bundle is 1.5 TB/month, compared with 3 TB standard transfer for that bundle; details are in the AWS pricing page and AWS transfer documentation.

Match YouTube’s ingest settings to the stream
YouTube Help lists RTMP/RTMPS ingest, H.264, H.265, or AV1 video, AAC or MP3 audio, constant-bitrate encoding, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds). For H.264, YouTube’s current recommendations include 10 Mbps for 1080p30 and 17 Mbps for 1080p60; calculate transfer from the actual total bitrate and chosen output. YouTube recommends RTMPS, testing with representative audio and motion, and monitoring stream health and messages during the broadcast. See YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance.
- Choose the output you actually need. Set resolution and frame rate to match the source and audience. A higher resolution or frame rate raises the recommended video bitrate and therefore the monthly transfer estimate.
- Use an ingest protocol and encoder configuration supported by YouTube. Prefer RTMPS. Keep the encoder at constant bitrate and use a two-second keyframe interval, without exceeding four seconds.
- Provide the stream key through the platform’s secure configuration. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, share it in screenshots, or put it in a public script or repository. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Test before leaving the stream unattended. Run a preflight with audio and motion representative of the real program. Check YouTube’s stream-health messages and confirm that audio, video, and the loop behave as expected.
Run the prerecorded loop on a self-managed VPS
The exact commands and service setup vary by operating system, encoder, and provider. The core workflow is to provision the server, place the finished media on it, configure a persistent encoder to send the loop to YouTube over RTMPS, and monitor it. This is a server-administration approach, not a provider-specific click-by-click guide.

- Provision a Linux VPS in a suitable region. Check its monthly transfer allowance, storage, outbound-transfer charges, public-IP costs, and renewal price. For Lightsail in Mumbai, account for the documented 1.5 TB allowance on the 2 GB bundle.
- Prepare the source file. Upload the already-encoded video and ensure the VPS has enough disk space. If the workload requires live composition, overlays, transcoding, or multiple outputs, reassess CPU and memory rather than assuming the simple-loop sizing applies.
- Configure a persistent loop and RTMPS output. Use an encoder or playback setup that can repeat the file and send the chosen resolution, frame rate, audio, bitrate, and keyframe interval to YouTube’s ingest endpoint. Keep the stream key out of public files and logs where practical.
- Start and verify the broadcast. Confirm the live preview and audio in YouTube, inspect stream health, and check that the media repeats without gaps or unexpected stops.
- Make recovery operational, not aspirational. Configure the VPS process to restart after a crash or reboot, and monitor both the process and YouTube’s stream status. A running process alone does not prove that YouTube is receiving a healthy stream.
- Track transfer and costs. Compare actual outbound use with the monthly estimate, leave headroom, and review provider overage and renewal terms. A persistent loop can exceed a small regional allowance even when the server load is modest.
Protect the channel as well as the stream
Technical uptime does not establish that a channel is eligible for monetization or that its content complies with YouTube policies. Use material you own or are licensed to stream, including music, podcast clips, artwork, and other visuals. A continuous loop of reused material can raise copyright or reused-content concerns; automation does not grant rights or guarantee monetization. Review YouTube’s current rules for the channel and content before broadcasting, and use a copyright-safety checklist such as StreamNeo’s free checklist as a planning aid.

Common problems and fixes
- The stream stops after some time: Check YouTube’s stream-health messages, the VPS process, and the server’s restart configuration. Do not rely on a provider’s advertised restart claim without confirming what it covers.
- The VPS is online but YouTube shows no healthy stream: Check the ingest endpoint, protocol, stream key, encoder output, and YouTube health messages. A live server process is not proof of successful ingest.
- The monthly transfer allowance runs out: Recalculate using total video-plus-audio bitrate and the actual number of streaming days, then compare with regional allowance and overage terms. Reduce bitrate or choose an allowance that covers expected use with margin.
- Audio or motion looks wrong: Repeat a representative preflight test and inspect the encoding settings, source file, and YouTube stream health before leaving the stream unattended.
- The chosen VPS seems underpowered: Confirm whether the job is merely looping an encoded file or also transcoding, compositing scenes, adding overlays, or sending multiple outputs; those extra tasks change compute requirements.
