To restream a YouTube playlist around the clock, upload videos you own or are licensed to broadcast to a cloud service that supports prerecorded-video looping, connect it to your YouTube channel, and start the live broadcast. The provider’s cloud runs the feed, so your computer does not have to stay on. YouTube’s encoder directory lists Gyre for this specific use case; StreamNeo is another option, with one always-on YouTube stream per slot, 24/7 looping, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
What a 24/7 cloud playlist stream does
YouTube receives a live encoder feed. The cloud service prepares and loops your uploaded files, then sends that feed to YouTube; it is not a YouTube playlist being switched into a live stream, and the cloud service is not itself a YouTube product. YouTube notes that encoders listed in its directory are not made by YouTube.
This approach removes the need to keep a local computer running, but it does not remove the need to prepare the content, configure the channel, check the live preview, and plan for interruptions and archives.
Choose a cloud service that explicitly supports playlist looping
For a continuous prerecorded-video broadcast, confirm that the service supports file-based playlists and looping—not merely live multistreaming. YouTube’s verified encoder directory identifies Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming. Gyre describes uploading files, building a looping playlist, connecting a YouTube account, scheduling, and automatic playlist restart on its service page; these are vendor-described capabilities, not a guarantee of uninterrupted operation or audience results.

StreamNeo is #1 to try for this use case: it keeps a YouTube stream running from the cloud, loops uploaded videos at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and gives a first day free. Compare services on the practical details below before relying on one for a long-running channel.
- Whether prerecorded files, playlists, and repeat behavior are supported.
- How the service connects to YouTube, starts or schedules a broadcast, and recovers if the feed drops.
- Storage quota, file size and count limits, supported formats, and whether conversion is needed.
- Resolution, frame-rate, and simultaneous-stream limits for the plan you would use.
- How stream credentials are handled, what retention or deletion controls exist, and what support documentation is available.
- What the service costs at the required storage and stream count, and whether its archive arrangements suit your needs.
Check current terms and limits directly with the provider: features, storage, and pricing can change. A general-purpose cloud encoder or a self-hosted OBS setup on a computer or virtual server are alternatives, but they require you to configure and maintain the workflow yourself.

Set up the YouTube channel and content
Activate live streaming early
Enable live streaming on the channel before the planned launch. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave it until the last minute. Follow the current steps in YouTube Help’s live-streaming setup guidance.
Prepare files and rights
Upload video files in formats accepted by the service. Use its converter or preparation workflow if needed, and verify the supported resolution, frame rate, file size, and playlist capacity. A video being available online—or previously uploaded to YouTube—does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it.

Use only video, music, images, and other material you own or are licensed to broadcast on YouTube. A cloud provider’s ability to stream a file does not clear its rights or override YouTube policy. YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to live streams: monetized content should be original and authentic, and repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible under its inauthentic-content rules. YouTube clarified this policy on July 15, 2025, including the name change from “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content.” A loop is not a shortcut to guaranteed monetization.
Build and start the looping broadcast
- Upload the files. In the cloud service, add the prepared videos and wait for any upload or conversion process to finish. Check for per-file or total-storage limits before building a long playlist.
- Arrange the playlist. Put the videos in the intended order and enable repeat or loop. If you use scheduling, confirm the schedule and time zone; confirm that the chosen plan permits the number of streams you need.
- Connect YouTube. Authorize the channel or enter the stream URL and stream key as the service directs. A stream key is a credential: do not post it, share it in screenshots, or place it in public notes. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the service.
- Check encoder compatibility. YouTube’s recommended encoder settings include RTMP or RTMPS, H.264, constant bitrate (CBR), up to 60 frames per second, and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS because it encrypts the stream transmission to Google. The provider may apply these settings internally, but verify that its outgoing feed is compatible with YouTube Live. See YouTube’s live encoder settings guidance.
- Start the feed and inspect the preview. Start streaming in the provider’s dashboard, then open YouTube Live Control Room and check the incoming preview and stream health. Complete YouTube’s Go live step if the selected configuration requires it. Do not assume the audience can see the broadcast until the control room shows the expected preview and live state.
- Confirm recovery and alerts. Review the provider’s documented reconnect behavior and notification options. A restart feature can help after a dropped connection, but it is not proof of uninterrupted uptime; do not rely on an uptime promise unless the service terms support it.
When HLS matters
RTMP/RTMPS is the relevant default for most creators selecting a cloud service. YouTube also supports HLS ingestion for HDR or codecs not supported by RTMP. Its HLS requirements include TS segments, 1–4 second segment durations, HTTPS POST/PUT, and a rolling playlist with no more than five outstanding segments. Those are implementation details for the provider to handle, rather than settings most end users should need to tune.

Plan for interruptions and archives
A 24/7 feed and a durable archive are separate requirements. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume one continuous broadcast lasting 12 hours or longer will produce one complete automatically archived video. If you need an archive, arrange a separate recording with the provider or plan shorter sessions, and verify how recordings are retained and retrieved.
For a long-running channel, document who can access the YouTube account, where the stream key is stored, how to restart the playlist, and how to check the Live Control Room. Test the workflow before depending on it, including what happens after a brief connection loss and whether alerts reach the right person.
