To show Hindi song names on a YouTube radio stream, add a now-playing text overlay to the video and update it with each song’s title and artist. YouTube’s documented encoder workflow supports adding an overlay, but it does not provide a built-in, guaranteed live song-identification display. Unless you connect a separate metadata source, update the overlay yourself.
Show the song name on the video with an overlay
A browser-source overlay is the right choice when viewers should see the Hindi title and artist directly on the stream. YouTube documents adding an overlay in an encoder; the example is a break overlay, not a Hindi-song recognition feature or a live track-metadata feed. See YouTube’s overlay guidance.
- Prepare a now-playing graphic. Include the current song title in Devanagari and, if useful, the artist’s name. Keep the text legible against the video.
- Add it to your encoder. Use the encoder’s browser-source option to display the overlay in the stream. YouTube’s guidance explains the overlay mechanism; exact controls depend on the encoder you use.
- Check Hindi text before going live. Preview the browser source and confirm the chosen font renders the Devanagari characters correctly. If letters appear as boxes or break apart, try a font with Devanagari support and preview again.
- Update it as the playlist changes. Unless you have separately configured a metadata source to do this, manually change the title and artist when each new song starts.
For a long-running radio stream, decide who or what will update the label and how track changes will be monitored. The overlay itself does not identify songs.

Announce tracks in Live Chat
Post the title and artist in Live Chat when a song begins. This avoids adding an overlay, but the information appears in chat rather than on the video. See YouTube’s Live Chat instructions.

Edit the stream title or description
You can edit stream metadata in Live Control Room. Use the title and description to identify the overall radio stream; YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance does not describe them as automatically changing to match each track.
Use YouTube’s Music section only as a supplement
YouTube says its “Music in this video” section shows information about music heard in a video, such as song and artist names. Its appearance is conditional: the information may be absent when rights-holder data is insufficient or the music is not identified. It is not documented as a guaranteed live label that updates as a radio stream plays. Read YouTube’s explanation of Music in this video.

Plan the workflow for a continuous radio stream
A visible now-playing label is only as current as its update process. For a continuous playlist, arrange a reliable way to notice track changes and revise the title and artist, or configure a separate metadata source and verify that it updates the overlay as intended. Test the complete setup—including Devanagari rendering and track changes—before relying on it for a live broadcast. YouTube’s cited overlay guidance explains how an encoder can display graphics, not how to recognize Hindi songs or supply their metadata.
