But YouTube may not archive a stream that runs longer than 12 hours, and its DVR features may be limited or unavailable at that length. For a 24/7 Indian music stream, plan a local recording backup and confirm that you have the necessary music rights before broadcasting.
How to save and reuse your YouTube live stream settings
Use YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room to create or schedule the stream, connect your encoder, then reuse the previous stream’s setup for future sessions. The menu and options described below are YouTube’s documented workflow; they do not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 operation.
- Open the Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. In the Manage tab, create a stream or schedule one. Scheduling creates an upcoming stream page you can share, and viewers may be able to opt in to reminders. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the workflow.
- Connect your encoder. For a new encoder stream, copy YouTube’s Live server URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming settings. Start the encoder. For a scheduled stream, check that the preview appears in the Live Control Room and complete the go-live step there.
- Reuse the prior stream. In the Manage tab, select the previous stream and choose Reuse settings. YouTube copies its metadata, settings and stream key. You can edit the new stream after it is created. YouTube also copies the prior stream’s auto-start and auto-stop selections, so check those options before starting. See Manage live stream settings.
- Choose a reusable key deliberately. You can create a custom stream key for reuse. Treat the key like a password: it authorizes your encoder to send a feed. Don’t include it in public screenshots, notes or exposed automation settings. If it is compromised, reset it in the Live Control Room and update the encoder with the new key.
- Check the feed before going live. YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before a planned event and starting it at least 15 minutes beforehand. Confirm that the preview appears, and monitor the audio and video once live. These are operational checks, not a guarantee of continuous uptime. See YouTube live streaming tips.
Reuse settings or create a fresh stream?
| Choice | What happens | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| Reuse settings | YouTube copies the previous stream’s metadata, settings and stream key. Auto-start and auto-stop selections are copied too. | Use it when the next session should use the same configuration. Review copied details and automation options before going live. |
| Create a fresh stream | You set up a new stream instead of carrying over the previous stream’s configuration. | Use it when the next event needs different details or you want a clean configuration. |
YouTube documents the settings reuse and encoder workflow, but does not establish a particular encoder, computer specification, internet speed, playlist automation method or recovery plan as suitable for every 24/7 broadcast.
Plan a local recording: a 24-hour archive is not assured
YouTube says automatic archiving applies to streams under 12 hours. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, so don’t rely on YouTube to produce one complete archive of a 24/7 broadcast. YouTube recommends keeping a local backup. During the stream, check that the local recording file is actually growing, rather than assuming recording has started. See Archive live streams.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Recording option | What to expect | Practical choice |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube automatic archive | Convenient for streams under 12 hours. A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. | Do not count on it as the complete copy of a 24/7 stream. |
| Local recording | YouTube recommends a local archive backup. Its guidance does not prescribe a drive type, capacity or model. | Use a local recording if preserving the full broadcast matters, and verify that the file is growing. |
DVR is a separate concern: YouTube says DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. Don’t promise viewers they can rewind through an entire 24/7 broadcast. Details are in YouTube’s DVR guidance.
Clear music rights before streaming Indian songs
Having an audio file or access to a song through a consumer music service does not establish that you have permission to broadcast it. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” The terms also make the provider responsible for applicable laws and regulatory requirements in the stream territory.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can replace the stream with a placeholder and prompt you to stop using the content; if it remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even if you have a licence, YouTube says the relevant rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to prevent interruption. Confirm rights and any required allowlisting with the relevant rights holders before going live. See Copyright issues with live streams.
Which licences apply depends on the specific music, rights holders and territories. YouTube’s general guidance does not establish the clearance status of a particular Indian music catalogue or how a particular label or publisher handles allowlisting. Confirm the details with the relevant rights holders rather than assuming one permission covers every track or territory.

Common problems and what to check
- The encoder cannot connect: Check that its server URL and stream key match the current stream. If you reset a compromised key, replace the old key in the encoder too.
- The scheduled stream has no preview: Check that the encoder is running and that the correct server URL and key are entered. Confirm the preview in the Live Control Room before completing the go-live step.
- The new stream has unexpected details or behaviour: Reuse settings copies metadata, settings and the key, including auto-start and auto-stop selections. Review the copied setup and edit what needs to change.
- The live stream is interrupted by a music match: Stop using the matched content and resolve the rights issue with the relevant rights holder. If the content is licensed, ask whether your channel must be added to the Content ID allowlist.
- YouTube has no complete recording afterward: A stream over 12 hours may not be captured. For a 24/7 broadcast, check the local recording file while the stream is running; don’t wait until the end to discover it was not recording.
- Viewers cannot rewind as expected: DVR may be limited or unavailable for a stream longer than 12 hours. Don’t treat full-stream rewind as guaranteed.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want to keep a prerecorded Indian music stream running without leaving a computer and home connection on, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud option: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. There is no computer that has to stay on at home. Each slot streams what you uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; StreamNeo does not re-encode it or charge quality tiers. It can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details. For Indian creators, UPI is supported; cards are also accepted in India, and card checkout is available worldwide.
