For looping prerecorded videos on YouTube around the clock, StreamNeo is the first alternative to consider: it runs uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. Gyre and Upstream are other cloud-based candidates identified by YouTube’s encoder-tools page. If you mean sending a live camera or production feed to several platforms, rather than looping uploaded videos, compare Switchboard with distribution and studio tools such as Restream and StreamYard instead.
First decide what “24/7 streaming” means
There are two distinct workflows behind the phrase:
- Unattended prerecorded playback: a service repeatedly plays uploaded videos or a playlist to a YouTube live stream, without a computer or operator continuously feeding it.
- A continuous live production feed: an encoder sends live camera, studio, or other real-time output to a distribution service, which forwards it to YouTube and possibly other destinations.
These are not interchangeable. A service that can broadcast prerecorded content or host a long show is not necessarily a cloud-based, unattended looping service.
Alternatives by workflow
| Service | Best fit | What the cited pages establish |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud playback of uploaded videos to one YouTube channel | Loops uploaded videos and playlists from the cloud; each slot supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. One flat price per slot; first day free with no card. |
| Gyre | Cloud-based continuous prerecorded video | YouTube’s encoder-tools page describes Gyre as a cloud tool for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming. Gyre’s own page says it is designed for 24/7 prerecorded streams. Its claim that YouTube permits continuous live streams without a fixed duration limit is Gyre’s claim, not a separately verified YouTube rule. |
| Upstream | Cloud studio for continuous live video | YouTube’s encoder-tools page describes Upstream as a cloud studio for easy 24/7 live video streaming with YouTube integration. The cited page does not establish specific pricing or detailed plan limits. |
| Restream | Sending a live feed to multiple channels, or publishing prerecorded content | Restream documents streaming to 30+ social channels, custom RTMP, and prerecorded Upload & Stream. Those capabilities do not establish an unattended infinite loop or a specific 24/7 plan. |
| StreamYard | Browser-based hosted shows and live production | Its official pricing page lists multistreaming and prerecorded streams on paid plans. Its support page distinguishes paid-plan broadcast duration from recording limits; see the limits section below. |

1. StreamNeo: a direct fit for uploaded-video loops
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and start the stream; StreamNeo loops the content in the cloud, so your computer, OBS installation, and home internet connection do not need to stay on. It streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a camera feed.
Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. The same features apply across plans; only the billing period changes.
Plans: Daily $0.99 per day · Weekly $2.99 per week · Monthly $9.99 per month · 6 months $49.99 for 6 months · Yearly $89.99 a year. The first day is free with no card, once per account. 2. Gyre and Upstream: cloud alternatives listed by YouTube
YouTube’s encoder-tools page identifies Gyre for cloud-based 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming and Upstream as a cloud studio for 24/7 live video. That makes them relevant options to investigate for continuous cloud workflows. The cited pages do not support a detailed price, storage, recovery, or feature-by-feature comparison between either service and the others here; confirm current capabilities and terms with the provider before choosing.

Gyre’s product page also says YouTube allows continuous live streams without a fixed duration limit. Treat that as Gyre’s description, not a guarantee from YouTube for every channel, stream, or policy situation.
3. Restream: distribution and prerecorded publishing
Restream’s pricing and features page documents multistreaming to 30+ social channels, custom RTMP, and Upload & Stream for prerecorded content. Those are useful if your central need is broad distribution or publishing prerecorded material. The cited page does not establish that Upload & Stream continuously loops content unattended around the clock, so verify the exact behavior you need before treating it as a 24/7 replacement.

4. StreamYard: hosted live production
StreamYard is a better match when you need a browser-based studio for hosted shows and production, rather than an unattended video loop. Its pricing page lists multistreaming and prerecorded streams on paid plans. Its support documentation says paid plans have no StreamYard-side YouTube broadcast-duration limit, but this does not mean unlimited recording or archiving.
Where Switchboard Live fits
Switchboard presents itself as a multistreaming and distribution service, not a standalone repository and player for prerecorded videos. Its FAQ says users need an encoder such as OBS, social destinations, and a steady internet connection; Switchboard says it does not store prerecorded videos, so the encoder must be able to send them. That is a different setup from a cloud service that takes uploaded files and loops them itself.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteSwitchboard’s pricing page describes features including unlimited destinations, automatic destination start and stop, scheduled start and stop, SRT input, and archive features; its enterprise tier is listed with “24/7 Streams.” These are current-page plan claims, so check the live plan details and setup requirements before relying on a specific feature or tier. Its FAQ also says it does not aggregate comments and that users must monitor destination platforms. The FAQ gives a maximum of 30 destinations per workflow and says Switchboard does not store or archive the video itself; because the pricing page separately describes an archive destination, verify what the applicable tier and configuration actually archive.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to choose
- You want prerecorded videos to loop unattended on one YouTube channel: start with StreamNeo, then compare Gyre and confirm the exact playlist, upload, and recovery behavior you need.
- You want a cloud studio for a continuous live video feed: investigate Upstream, which YouTube lists for 24/7 live video, and check its current plan and production features.
- You already run an encoder and need distribution to many destinations: compare Switchboard and Restream around destination support, custom RTMP, scheduling, and how your encoder supplies the feed.
- You host shows with guests or other production needs: StreamYard’s browser studio may fit better; evaluate broadcast duration separately from recording and archive retention.
No single option is the universal replacement: choose by whether the source is uploaded video or a live encoder feed, and whether you need looping, destination distribution, studio controls, or archival capacity.
YouTube rules and operational limits
Any third-party tool still has to operate within YouTube’s rules. YouTube says live content must comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and it may restrict livestreaming. A streaming service does not ensure that a channel or video complies, qualifies for monetization, or will be recommended.

YouTube Help states that a channel may have up to 10 active streams and a stream key may be used for up to 3 active streams at once. These are YouTube platform limits, not promises about a particular vendor’s capacity. Use a distinct stream key and stream setup carefully, and check YouTube’s current help page if your planned channel or key usage approaches those limits.
StreamYard recording is not the same as broadcast uptime
StreamYard’s support page says paid plans have no StreamYard-side YouTube duration limit for a broadcast, but recording is subject to separate limits. The page states that only the last 12 hours of a YouTube stream are recorded in the context it describes. Do not treat a long-running broadcast as an equally long retained recording; check the current support documentation for the plan and recording workflow you intend to use.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload your video or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded videos stream as made up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
