You can earn from a 24/7 YouTube music livestream through Watch Page ads and YouTube Premium revenue, channel memberships, and—if your channel is eligible—other features such as Super Chat and Super Stickers. First qualify for the relevant YouTube Partner Program (YPP) features, accept the right monetization modules, and clear music rights for the broadcast and any archive. A stream’s duration alone guarantees neither monetization approval nor ad delivery or income.
Check which YPP features your channel can access
YouTube has different eligibility tiers for fan-funding features and Watch Page ad revenue. The published thresholds below are not automatic approval: region, policy compliance, account status, and YouTube’s review also matter. Check the channel’s current Earn tab in YouTube Studio before planning around a feature, since requirements and availability can change.

Accept the module for the revenue you want
To receive Watch Page ad and YouTube Premium revenue from eligible long-form or live content, accept YouTube’s Watch Page Monetization Module. Fan funding, including memberships, has a separate Commerce Product Module and its own eligibility and activation requirements. Meeting a subscriber or watch-time threshold does not switch on every revenue feature automatically.
Set live ads around the listening experience
When monetization is enabled for a livestream, YouTube automatically enables pre-roll and display ads. You can choose automatic, scheduled, or manual mid-rolls. Ad slots are opportunities, not guarantees: YouTube may not serve an ad to every viewer or at every slot, and viewers can receive ads at different times.

For music, weigh the chance of ad revenue against the value of uninterrupted listening. Review viewer response and retention in your own channel data rather than assuming a universal interval is best. YouTube reported that creators who chose live automatic mid-rolls saw, on average, over 20% uplift in instream ad revenue per hour. That was a platform-reported comparison between channels with and without automatic live mid-rolls, averaged across 207 countries in January 2024; it is historical, not proof of causation or a forecast for an individual 24/7 music stream.
If you embed the livestream on an external website and it autoplays, YouTube says ads are turned off for that livestream.
Offer memberships with perks you can maintain
Channel memberships are recurring monthly payments in exchange for creator-defined perks. They can complement ads, but they are not a substitute for serving viewers who are not members. YouTube lists badges and emoji among possible perks; what your channel can enable depends on feature availability and eligibility in Studio.

- Choose benefits you can deliver consistently, such as member badges, emoji, or member posts where available.
- For a music channel, consider genuinely distinct member-only listening or community benefits only if you can provide them and have the rights to use the music that way.
- Describe each perk precisely, including what members receive and how often, so the offer is clear and sustainable.
To use memberships, the channel must meet the applicable YPP, age, regional, and other feature requirements, accept the relevant Commerce Product terms, and activate the feature in YouTube Studio. Automatic ad settings can limit mid-roll disruption to channel members, but that does not mean every member experience or every ad is guaranteed to be interruption-free.

Before going live, confirm that your permissions cover the actual use—not merely that you have access to an audio file or permission to use a track in an ordinary video. YouTube’s live-stream terms place responsibility on the creator to have the rights needed to exploit live content on Google services, including music rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance rights), and other royalty participants.

Keep written documentation that matches the stream’s scope, territory, duration, monetization, and archive use. YouTube scans livestreams for third-party material and may replace the stream with a placeholder, warn you, interrupt it temporarily, or terminate it. Even licensed content can be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. A claim may also arise on an archived live stream after the broadcast ends.

Do not treat Creator Music as blanket permission for a continuous livestream. YouTube’s Creator Music guidance describes its licensed or revenue-sharing tracks for long-form videos, not live streams.
Make the channel’s original contribution clear
Copyright permission and monetization-policy eligibility are separate questions. YouTube’s monetization policies apply to livestreams as well as other video formats, and say repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible even when the creator has permission to use the music.
Make the channel’s authorship and meaningful creative contribution legible. Depending on what is true of your production, that might include original compositions, live performance, distinctive curation with substantial original contribution, distinctive visuals, or creator participation. None of these approaches guarantees approval; YouTube reviews the channel against its policies.

Use other revenue features only if they fit
YouTube also lists YouTube Premium revenue, Super Chat and Super Stickers for live chat, Shopping, and brand partnerships as possible revenue routes. Their eligibility and availability differ. They are optional complements, not dependable income: for example, a quiet ambient stream may not have an active chat that makes chat funding meaningful.
What revenue shares do—and do not—tell you
Under the relevant YouTube modules, YouTube currently documents 55% of net Watch Page ad revenue and 70% of net revenue for channel memberships and specified fan-funding features. These are revenue-share terms, not a forecast of what a channel will earn. YouTube says there are no guarantees under the Partner Agreement about how much, or whether, a creator will be paid.
No supported figure establishes likely income for a particular channel, audience, music genre, geography, or stream length. Actual results depend on factors such as eligibility, audience behavior, ad delivery, and the channel’s available features; do not infer a monthly amount from the fact that a stream runs continuously.
