What the LG 49LW310C specifications establish
LG’s official EU/CIS LW310C document identifies a 49-inch version with an Edge LED display and 1920 × 1080 resolution. It lists DVB-T2/C/S2 digital reception and 5W + 5W, 2.0-channel audio. The document also names six aspect-ratio modes and Real Cinema 24p.
Those details belong to the documented EU/CIS model family; suffixes and regional versions can differ, particularly for tuners and inputs. LG Korea’s support page separately identifies the exact 49LW310C as a commercial TV and provides a user manual and software/support material. It lists LW300C/LW310C software version 03.01.41 dated 2018-11-07, which is historical support information—not evidence of current software maintenance or parts availability. Its 124 cm/1920 × 1080 table entry gives 10W + 10W audio. The page also includes generic rows for several sizes, uses Full HD/UHD wording in its feature list and explicitly cautions that actual specifications may differ. Size is not settled by the model name
The Thomson’s size is a genuine point of uncertainty: Smartprix labels its R9 50TM5090 listing as 48 inches, whereas other catalog listings use 50 inches. Do not infer the diagonal from the “50” in the model name. Which one should you choose?
For broadcast TV
Start with the transmission standard used where you live. LG’s EU/CIS sheet specifies DVB-T2/C/S2; the available Thomson manual transcription does not establish the tuner standards for the exact regional variant. Confirm the tuner from the set’s regional manual or product label, or plan to use a compatible external receiver.

For built-in sound
The Thomson manual’s 10W + 10W figure is higher than LG’s listed 5W + 5W. That gives Thomson a potential paper advantage in rated speaker output, but does not establish which set sounds better: clarity, placement, room acoustics and the condition of older speakers matter too. If sound is decisive, audition the actual unit or check that it works properly at normal listening levels.
For devices and smart features
The Thomson transcription describes a broad set of connections and network functions, including LAN, Wi-Fi and web browsing. Verify that the exact set has the ports you need and that its network connection and any desired apps or services still work. A manual’s smart-feature description does not prove that online services remain supported today. The cited LG specification summary does not provide enough detail to make a complete input-by-input or smart-feature comparison.

For a used or refurbished purchase
With older televisions, the condition and terms of the particular sale can outweigh small specification differences. Check the screen for lines, dead pixels, uneven backlighting and image retention; test every input, tuner, remote control, speaker and network feature you intend to use. Get the exact model suffix and regional version in writing, then compare warranty coverage, return rights and delivery terms.
