Yes. Viewers in India can gift YouTube channel memberships during an eligible live stream or Premiere when the channel has gift memberships enabled and the feature is available to the viewer’s account. In live chat, open Membership gifting, choose the number of memberships, and complete the purchase. Availability is conditional, not guaranteed on every channel or account.
How to gift memberships in YouTube live chat

Sign in to YouTube and watch the eligible channel’s live stream or Premiere.

Open live chat and select Membership gifting.

Choose how many memberships to gift and complete the transaction shown by YouTube.
YouTube’s instructions require that the channel have gift memberships turned on. Channel membership eligibility and location rules also apply. If the control is missing, gifting may not be enabled or available for that channel or account. Who can receive a gifted membership?
Recipients must opt in to receive gifts. They must be signed in to a YouTube channel that is not a Brand Account, must not already be a member of the channel, and must meet YouTube’s other conditions, including subscribing to the channel and having interacted with it recently.
What the recipient gets—and what the gift costs
A gift provides up to one month of access to that channel’s membership perks. It expires afterward and does not renew, so the recipient is not charged when it ends. YouTube says gift memberships are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

YouTube’s current India membership pricing table, accessed on 2026-10-03, lists ₹59 for the USD $0.99 membership tier and ₹799 for the USD $9.99 tier. These are membership-tier prices, not a verified universal checkout price for a gift. YouTube says pricing updates began rolling out gradually in May 2025, and the price can depend on when a membership is created or joined. Check the amount YouTube displays at checkout. What is visible when someone gives a gift?
YouTube says the number of gifted memberships, the gifting channel’s name, and its profile picture are publicly visible. The channel may also receive this information through YouTube’s Data API.

Check the channel: Gift memberships must be turned on for that channel.

Check the viewer’s eligibility and location: The feature is conditional on YouTube’s membership and location rules; it is not promised for every viewer in India or every stream.
