Creators in India can use Super Chat and Super Stickers if their channel meets YouTube’s eligibility rules. To switch them on, open YouTube Studio → Earn → Supers on a computer and select Get started, or use Earn → Supers in the Android YouTube Studio app. Complete the on-screen setup and accept YouTube’s Commerce Product Module (CPM) if prompted.
Check whether your channel is eligible
India is included on YouTube’s list of locations where eligible creators can use Super Chat and Super Stickers. Location availability does not automatically make every channel eligible. YouTube requires creators using these fan-funding features to be at least 18, live in a supported country or region, have access to the relevant YouTube Partner Program features, and accept the Commerce Product Module or, where applicable, the former Commerce Product Addendum.
YouTube’s expanded Partner Programme offers an early-access route to some monetization features, including fan funding, for channels that meet its thresholds: 500 subscribers, three valid public uploads in the previous 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified public watch hours in the previous 12 months or 3 million qualified public Shorts views in the previous 90 days. Meeting the numbers does not guarantee access: YouTube reviews channels, and individual features can have additional requirements. The higher thresholds for ad-revenue sharing are separate: 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the previous 12 months or 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the previous 90 days, according to YouTube’s expanded YPP overview. Those figures are not a substitute for checking whether Supers is available to your channel.

Turn on Super Chat on a computer
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- In the left-hand menu, select Earn.
- Open the Supers tab.
- Select Get started and follow the on-screen instructions. Accept the Commerce Product Module if YouTube asks you to do so.
- Review the eligible live streams and Premieres where Super Chat and Super Stickers can appear.
YouTube says the Supers tab appears only when the channel is eligible. If you cannot see it, use the eligibility and restrictions checks below rather than assuming that a setting is simply switched off. The desktop procedure is documented in YouTube’s computer instructions for turning Super Chat and Super Stickers on or off.
Turn on Super Chat in the Android YouTube Studio app
- Open the YouTube Studio app and tap Earn.
- Tap the Supers card. If the card is not shown, go to the Supers section, tap Get started, and then tap Turn on when prompted.
- If this is your first visit to Supers, follow the prompts to accept the Commerce Product Module.
- After setup, check eligible live streams and Premieres for Super Chat and Super Stickers.

Where Supers can and cannot appear
Turning on the feature does not make every video or stream eligible. YouTube excludes age-restricted, unlisted, and private videos, Made for Kids content, and YouTube Giving fundraiser videos. Super Chat and Super Stickers also cannot be used if live chat or comments are turned off. Check YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility, availability and policies if a specific stream does not offer Supers.
If the Supers option is missing or setup does not finish
- Supers is absent in Studio: Check that your channel has the relevant YPP access, that you meet the age and supported-location rules, and that YouTube has made the feature available to your channel. YouTube only shows the desktop tab for eligible channels.
- The feature is unavailable on one stream: Check the video’s visibility and audience settings, whether it is age-restricted or a fundraiser, and whether live chat is enabled. A channel may have Supers access while a particular stream remains ineligible.
- You are prompted to accept terms: Complete the Commerce Product Module flow. YouTube requires acceptance of the applicable commerce terms for fan-funding features.
- You meet the published subscriber and activity thresholds but still lack access: Those thresholds do not guarantee feature access. Review the feature-specific requirements and channel eligibility in YouTube Studio.
Legal responsibility
YouTube states that creators are responsible for complying with laws applicable to offering and receiving Super Chat and Super Stickers. Its help guidance does not determine how Indian tax or other legal rules apply to an individual creator; consult an appropriately qualified source for advice about your circumstances.
