Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →You can loop a pre-recorded study-with-me video on YouTube Live by sending it through an encoder, such as streaming software or a cloud service. Create or schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, add the stream URL and key to your encoder, select the video as its media source, and enable repeat in the encoder. YouTube receives the feed; the loop control belongs to the encoder you choose.
Before you start: confirm your channel can go live
- Your channel must be verified, and it must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s general eligibility guidance also says creators must be at least 16. YouTube live-streaming eligibility.
- First-time live streaming activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well ahead of your planned broadcast. YouTube encoder setup.
- Have a finished video file and confirm you have the necessary rights to every visual and audio element, including background music.
Set up the YouTube Live stream and encoder
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and choose an encoder workflow. YouTube’s encoder setup page explains how to create the event and connect an encoder: Set up your live stream with an encoder.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the event into the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: it authorizes an encoder to send video to the intended stream, so do not publish or share it. YouTube describes stream-key settings in its help documentation.
- In the encoder, add the recorded study-with-me file as a media source and turn on its loop or repeat option. The control is encoder-specific; YouTube does not provide one universal loop switch or menu path. Check the software’s own instructions for the version you use.
- Review the file’s ending and beginning. A hard cut, silence, sudden volume change, or visible transition will recur each time the video repeats.
Choose settings the connection can sustain
YouTube’s encoder guidance checked in 2026 recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video, up to 60 frames per second, and a two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. Bitrate depends on resolution and codec. For 1080p at 30 fps, YouTube lists the following ingestion bitrates: YouTube encoder settings.
| Codec | Minimum bitrate | Recommended bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| H.264 | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
| AV1 or H.265/HEVC | 4 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
These are YouTube recommendations, not a guarantee that your encoder or internet connection can sustain the feed. A mostly static desk scene may not need the highest resolution or frame rate. Choose a setting that preserves the detail viewers need while leaving reliable upload headroom. Test the exact output before relying on it for a long session.
Balance latency and playback stability
Lower latency can make the live feed feel more immediate, but YouTube notes it may increase buffering. For a study stream where uninterrupted playback matters more than near-real-time interaction, favor stability. YouTube’s DVR feature can let viewers pause and rewind during a live stream; check the event’s settings if that viewing behavior matters. YouTube encoder and latency guidance.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Test, start, and monitor the loop
- Start the encoder in a private or unlisted test stream, or otherwise test before the public broadcast. Use audio and motion similar to the planned stream, as YouTube recommends.
- Check the Live Control Room preview for picture, sound, framing, and whether the encoder is sending to the correct event. Wait for stream health information and resolve warnings before going public. YouTube testing and stream-health guidance.
- Start the scheduled event when the preview is ready. Keep monitoring stream health and YouTube messages while the encoder runs; the local loop can continue even if the platform reports an ingestion problem.
- When the YouTube event has stopped, stop the encoder too. This avoids unintentionally sending a feed after the broadcast is over.
Plan for duration, archives, and rights
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. The cited setup guidance does not promise an archive for streams lasting longer, so do not rely on YouTube as the only copy of a long broadcast. Keep a local recording if you need an archive. YouTube encoder setup and archive guidance.
Having permission to upload a video does not automatically settle every question about using it in a repeated live broadcast. The cited YouTube help pages explain the encoder workflow, but do not give a blanket ruling for all prerecorded study loops. Use material you own or are licensed to use, including music, and review YouTube’s applicable policies for your content. Testing confirms that the stream works technically; it does not prove policy compliance.

Troubleshooting common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| The encoder will not connect | Incorrect stream URL or key, wrong event, or live access not yet enabled | Copy the URL and key from the intended event again, confirm the event is open for encoder input, and check channel eligibility and activation status. |
| Video plays once and stops | Repeat was not enabled, or the selected encoder’s media source does not loop by default | Enable repeat/loop in the encoder’s media-source controls and consult that encoder’s documentation for its version. |
| Viewers report buffering or the stream health is poor | Upload capacity may not reliably sustain the chosen bitrate, or latency settings may favor immediacy over stability | Test the exact output, reduce resolution, frame rate, or bitrate if needed, leave upload headroom, and choose a less aggressive latency setting. |
| There is a jarring pause or sound jump at each repeat | The end and start of the file do not join smoothly | Edit or replace the source file, then retest the transition and audio level before the public stream. |
| No archive appears after a long broadcast | The stream lasted 12 hours or more | YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, not a guarantee for longer streams. Keep a local recording when an archive is important. |
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live 24/7 from uploaded videos. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; it loops from the cloud, so no computer, OBS, or home connection has to stay on. It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. Every slot supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with no re-encoding or quality tiers, plus automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month.
