Some Galaxy Z Fold7 owners have reported that Home Up’s three-finger volume gesture behaves unexpectedly after updating to One UI 9.0. A Sammy Fans report published October 3, 2026 says Samsung Community moderator guidance points first to a navigation gesture setting and possible volume-control routines. The report is anecdotal: it does not establish how many users are affected or show that One UI 9.0 caused the behavior.
What Fold7 users have reported
According to the Sammy Fans report, some owners enabled the relevant gesture settings but found that a slow three-finger swipe changed the volume by only one level at a time. A short three-finger swipe reportedly toggled Auto Rotate instead. The report describes individual user experiences, not a confirmed device-wide defect or a measured rate of occurrence.
The timing after One UI 9.0 is part of the reported experience; it does not establish that the update introduced the problem.
Check the navigation setting and volume routines
The report attributes the following troubleshooting guidance to a Samsung Community moderator. The response itself was not independently located, so these steps should be understood as guidance relayed by Sammy Fans, not as a separately verified Samsung support policy.

- Enable the required navigation gesture: Open Settings → Display → Navigation bar → Swipe gestures (multiple directions). The reported guidance says Home Up’s multi-finger gesture requires the navigation bar setting “Gestures in multiple directions.”
- Check for volume-control routines: Review any routines configured to change volume, since the moderator reportedly suggested they could interfere with the gesture.
These are reported checks, not fixes confirmed through controlled testing.
If the multi-finger gesture still does not work
The report says Samsung asked users whose issue persists to submit a screen recording and system logs through the Send Error option. A recording can show the swipe and the unexpected result; logs can provide additional diagnostic information. The report does not specify an exact menu path for Send Error.

Other touchscreen checks Samsung recommends
Samsung’s general touchscreen guidance discusses several factors that can affect touch sensitivity or gesture recognition, including temporary system errors, screen protectors or other accessories, accessibility settings, moisture, and some settings or apps. Those are general possibilities, not confirmed causes of the Fold7 Home Up behavior.
- Restart the device and check whether relevant settings or accessories are affecting touch input.
- Make sure the device software and apps are current.
- Use Samsung Members diagnostics or contact service support if touchscreen problems continue.

What Samsung’s September 2026 update notices establish
Samsung published Android 16 update notices for two Galaxy Z Fold7 regional variants: SM-F9660 on September 3, 2026, and SM-F966W on September 4, 2026. Both notices list the 2026-08-05 security patch level. Samsung cautions that changes can vary by model, country, and service provider. Neither notice says whether these builds introduced or fixed the multi-finger gesture behavior.
Check the notice for your exact variant and region rather than assuming another model’s update details apply. The notices are available for SM-F9660 and SM-F966W.
