BeInCrypto reported that Grayscale’s Zcash ETF, ticker ZCSH, had $93.6 million in net outflows during the week covered by its October 3, 2026 report. That is a sharp reversal in reported fund demand, but one week of flows—and a falling price—does not prove ZEC’s broader rally is over. In the report’s dated chart snapshot, ZEC was near $1,308, with $1,270–$1,300 identified as a near-term support zone. Those figures are historical, conditional chart analysis, not a live quote or forecast.
What the reported $93.6 million outflow tells us—and what it doesn’t
BeInCrypto reported $93.6 million in net outflows from ZCSH for the week discussed in its October 3, 2026 article, calling it the fund’s first outflow week since its August launch. The same report contrasted that figure with $98.2 million in net inflows two weeks earlier. The weekly total was attributed to SoSoValue, but an auditable primary daily-flow record for the full week was not available in the cited coverage. Outflows mean that reported fund redemptions exceeded creations over the period; they are evidence of weaker demand for this fund during that week. They do not, by themselves, establish why ZEC fell, prove that ETF flows caused the whole decline, or show that selling will continue. A single negative week is a short sample, particularly when the fund had been trading only since late August.
How ZCSH’s early assets affect the demand picture
ZCSH began trading on NYSE Arca on August 25, 2026. Grayscale reported more than $500 million in assets under management on September 8, roughly two weeks after launch. But that headline figure included approximately $100 million invested by DCG International Investments Ltd., an affiliate of the sponsor and fund. Grayscale also said cumulative inflows since launch exceeded $70 million, in addition to that affiliate investment. The affiliate investment was made through an authorized participant in exchange for 85,705.32563297 ZEC, according to the SEC filing. Grayscale said the affiliate’s shares had no preference features and were economically the same as other fund shares. The contribution is relevant context for interpreting the fund’s launch-period size, but it does not negate the subsequently reported outflow week.
What the October 3 price snapshot said
In its October 3, 2026 chart snapshot, BeInCrypto put ZEC near $1,308, about 17.5% lower over the week and 23% below a recent high near $1,690. These are dated values from that report, not current prices. Its technical read treated $1,270–$1,300 as the immediate zone to watch: holding it could leave room for a rebound, while losing it could expose support near $1,155. If selling eased, the report described a possible bounce toward $1,320–$1,360; it identified $1,380–$1,425 as a higher zone that would provide stronger evidence of recovery. How to judge whether the rally is actually ending
Rather than treating the reported weekly outflow as a verdict, watch whether several types of evidence line up over time:
- Flow direction and duration: One reported negative week is different from repeated net outflow weeks. Verify any later totals against dated, auditable flow data before drawing a trend.
- Price behavior: Compare ZEC with the dated levels above only as historical reference points; they can become stale quickly. A break below a chart zone is not proof of a lasting reversal, just as a bounce is not proof the rally has resumed.
- Who is supplying the capital: Separate broad investor creations from affiliated contributions when interpreting AUM or launch demand.
- What the fund represents: A ZCSH share is fund exposure, not direct ownership of ZEC by the shareholder. Fund flows and direct-token demand are related but not interchangeable measures.
- Evidence quality: Issuer and SEC documents establish launch and product details; the particular weekly flow total and October 3 chart levels come from secondary reporting.
ZCSH shares are not the same as owning ZEC
ZCSH is an exchange-traded product whose shares trade on NYSE Arca. Grayscale’s September 2026 prospectus says the sponsor publishes NAV and NAV per share each business day, while authorized participants distribute shares through an arbitrage mechanism intended to keep share prices closely linked to the index price. This primary-market creation and redemption process is distinct from an individual investor buying or selling shares on the exchange. September 2026 prospectus.

Owning a fund share does not give the shareholder direct control of the underlying ZEC or the ability to use Zcash’s network features. Zcash supports both transparent transactions and shielded transactions that can conceal sender, recipient, and amount; viewing keys can enable selective disclosure. Grayscale describes a 21-million-coin supply cap. Those are properties of the underlying network and asset, not additional rights conveyed by a ZCSH share. Grayscale’s SEC-filed release.
